  1. nifty!!! *tacklehugs* welcome, and congrats!
  2. oh, and my post has been edited to handle the banana incident.
  3. *laughs* amazing how many specify rope among their supplies. Done a better job of packing than Sam did, by far!
  4. Linador left the council deeply disturbed. He'd returned intent on discussing with Elrond some of the unusual things he'd seen on the trails and rumours which flew through towns and villages. Those disturbances were, it seemed, but the leading edge of horror. "Unless we stop it," he muttered as he reached his room. "Good thing I never fully unpack." He tossed his pack up onto his bed and checked the trail equipment which was always kept there. Quickly refilling supplies of small items, he added in fresh clothes and supplies and, on a second thought, extra arrow making supplies. Be it repairs or completely new arrows, they'd likely need more than they could carry. He left pack and bow leaned against his bed and left for the stables. Nervous people made for nervous horses - and the other way round as well, of course. He'd best be on hand to soothe and calm as many as possible, horses or people or both. As he made his way to the stables he stepped around a cluster of "little people" - it seemed to be two dwarves and a hobbit, though their swarming around an opened pack left some question of who belonged to what and how many were together or innocent bystanders. As they left one part of that question was answered, a sadly squished banana flying onto a clearly innocent - and shocked - bystander. With a muttered curse at luck, Linador stepped in front of Jagkatha speaking quickly but quietly, and pulling his handkerchief equally quickly. "Accursed run of luck these days! Stay a moment, let me get that." Wiping the banana off her face before any dropped onto her clothes, he continued, "Trash belongs in bins, not on pretty faces. Half a sec and your pretty face will be as clear as your conscience and ready to meet the world. And there you go! May the rest of your preparations be easy and unmarred by others' carelessness." With a sweeping bow he stepped aside and let her continue on her way, then continued on his own way to the stables.
  5. diapers edit: yeah, i know, but that's what happens to my brain when i spend the afternoon sorting baby clothes for my stepdaughter...
  6. *laughs* nice way to spread suspicion before the roles have even been assigned! nicely done! LOL
  7. welcome! interesting story! I can think of a few I wish had read it... *hugs*
  8. Welcome Phoenix! I'm sorry I didn't see this earlier, it's nicely done! (And we could have toasted marshmallows whilst waiting for Wyvern! *g*)
  9. Linador sat back in his seat, thankful that he had been seated at the table behind the fracas, yet equally thankful he had been close enough to help restrain Jagkatha. She had an unusually short temper, especially of late, but no party of Elrond's should be marred by bloodshed no matter how gross - or unintentional - the offense. He found himself absently humming a bit of his favourite riding song as he looked about the room. There were an unusual number of strangers about, these days. All sorts of folks, from far and wide. "Better watch for further clashes of manners," he murmurred to himself. "Looks as though we may need a bit of soothing and smoothing over here and there." Stoomp caught Linador's eye, just then, as he wobbled toward Jagkatha. "What in high heaven and middle earth is he - he wouldn't throw that on her?!" Linador caught his neighbor's arm and jerked his head in a sharp nod toward Stoomp. With raised eyebrows and caught breath they sat waiting to see what he had in mind, wondering if they should divert him.
  10. ooh! *waves hand wildly* mememememememememeeee!!!! umm.. yesplease? =) when you have time, I'd love to see them! Thank you SO much for posting these!
  11. enh, was hoping to have a bit more brain-free time to really plan a character, but since that's not the case... drat. umm. Looks like a pretty good mix already - not any obvious holes to fill in. hmm... Then, I guess... Linador, elf of Rivendell. Would be considered the horse-master, or something akin, were he ever to stay put long enough. He has a very strong affinity for animals, making him a natural for taming and training horses and beasts of burden, which he does willingly enough. When not called upon for that, he's generally off looking for other types of animals to try working with. At this point in time, he's been in Rivendell longer than normal and is feeling the itch to get back out on the trails.
  12. heh, reminds me of some of Alaeha's assignments, done literally at the last minute and often better than most of what was turned in by the class. Will have to brush up on my rhyme schemes and be a little more alert before giving this a look-through for technical details, but wanted to note both my amused agreement with the subject matter AND that I edited the subtitle for you so hopefully Gyr will see it and fix that for you. =) glad to see you back about!
  13. i'm in, spread a bit thin to have created character yet but will post ASAP. Tanny knows I'm in for minor surgery tomorrow, but for the rest of you - if i don't get a character up by tomorrow noon it'll go up over the weekend.
  14. absolutely, function over form in initial runs! things can always be tweaked once they're *working*. *huge hugs* just looking at how much of a headache this is being, i'm SO not holding my breath for the Noir skin! Thank you, all three of you, for taking this on and making it possible.
  15. This shouldn't be a current issue for those who are wanting to try new skins, since the ones which severely don't work have been turned off. *however* I suggest that you open your profile in a new window/tab (right click your screen name to do so) so that should a skin change in your current window go horribly awry you can change it back in the other window.
