  1. (It's ok. It seems things are slowing down anyways...I *may* bring the Ball to an end)
  2. I like how this poem is created around personifying Death as though he were a male. It's strong and the narrorator is very determined with his perspective.
  3. It's an honor that you share your personal work here at the Pen. These particular two are so loving, and genuine. Thank you so very much, for trustnig all of us with part of you. *Hugs* ~Katy
  4. I agree with P. If this poem is Literally what it reads as--that you seriously can not see something in yourself...then where will you be without that someone? Who were you before that someone? Could you ever be who you are with and without that someone?

Yey! Another like myself! I am glad that we share interest in writing silly poems! I once wrote one about a shoe and another about a kiwi bird.... I enjoyed this! It made my day! (Except so did the weather- it's 67 degrees outside and beautiful!) But other than the weather, it's the best part of my day! Write another!!! (Pwease?? *Gives the puppy dog eyes*)
  6. I thought so too. Thank's for the advise. I edited it from the poem.
  7. Zariah suppressed a giggle as Gwaihir attempted to converse with Wanderer. She was pleased that he was attempting to interact and honored that he would use crow language (even if it was a bit out of form). Wanderer bent his head to the side, in curiosity and tried to understand what Gwaihir had said. He, for some reason, became shy and nuzzled closer to Zariah’s collar, whispering something in her ear. “You can tell him I said hi, and that I apologize but I must go to the forest to congregate the others. And…and…he’s nice.” Wanderer flew out the window before she could persuade him to speak for himself. A bit embarrassed that he exited so impolitely, Zariah’s cheeks flushed a bright pink. “He likes you! He’s bashful because the only non-crow he’s ever spoken to is me, and well, now that I know I’m a crow, I guess he’s only spoken with them. But he said to tell you he was pleased to meet you and you seem nice; he’s off to the forest for preparations. Sorry that he darted out so abruptly. If you’d like, I’d love to take you to the assembly place where you can meet all my friends. Would you care to escort me?”
  8. Zariah felt tingling within her arms and legs, and she became increasingly nervous with each passing moment. "What is this?" Zariah thought, "This is surreal, which makes me assume someone is responsible for this. Why me?” Her blushing cheeks were pink with awkwardness, as she realized that she was the focus of attention.
  9. Happy Birthday! I hope it was great!
  10. Nope Quill Bearer is what I was I am now a Troubador (They just haven't changed my name...and I still have my sig) Fixed - Gwaihir
  11. Zariah halted for one moment. Then she said to Pilocanci, Boslio, and Yan Yan, "I'm the hostess here, I almost forgot. And...er...well...I think it would be rude to leave everyone. I was so excited that I forgot my responsibilities. You go on ahead and when the Ball is over, I'll try to find you, if I can." She turned to the crowd and made an announcement. "Thank you everyone for attending this Ball. We have food and a dance floor and music that seems to change every one in a while. I hope everyone has a wonderful time, and thanks again!" Blushing, she turned once more to Pilocanci and apologized. She bowed her head, and headed back to the entrance.
  12. I put Zariah and Brown And I got "You smell like butt" Congrats to the promoted Pennites.
  13. A knock at her door startled Zariah, for she was deep into one of her many novels. Wander was perched on her window, and he was taking a nap in the warm sun. Zariah quickly threw down her book, and walked to the door. When she opened it, it was no other than Gwaihir. He was different today, dressed nicely, and his cologne was very, very strong. He spoke in old English, and presented her with shocking news. “Wow! Me? A troubadour? Well…I accept. As for greeting my friends, I’m sure they’d fancy meeting you. I’m sure you will be able to correspond with them, but mind you they have unusual accents and I sound pretty funny when I speak to them. In fact, Wanderer is right here at the window. Come in-Um, actually I’ll bring him out. We’ll have to go to the forest, because they usually don’t like to leave except when I ask them for a big favor.” Zariah left the door cracked, but walked over to her window as she spoke in crow language to Wanderer. “Wanderer, I’ve never introduced you to anyone but Nyyark’s friend Crow. I’d like for you to meet a friend of mine, if you don’t mind. Could you then bring a message to the clan to ask them to meet at the assembly location for an introduction?” “No trouble, show him to me!” Wanderer perched himself on Zariah’s shoulder and headed back to the door. Gwaihir waited patiently and nervously for her return. As she approached the exit, Zariah tripped and Wanderer was startled. He flapped around as Zariah scrambled on the floor. “Wander! Calm down, it’s alright. Don’t alarm him away! It’s a big deal to me that this occurs as flawlessly as possible!” With that Wanderer returned to her shoulder, and Zariah made it to her door.
  14. Zariah slowly approaches Pilocanci and bows her head in respect. "Um, I'm so sorry that our dance was interrupted. I overheard that there is a civil war that's possibly approaching our land? If you'd like, since I am able to transform into a crow, you could use me as a spy? I don’t know if your air ships are invisible, but I blend in...." Zariah stands with patience to hear Pilocanci's response.
  15. First, I'd like to say, that I take for granted many many things. But, I think sometimes about how necessary we need the Earth, Wind, and Water. I realize, that we are killing ourselves by killing our resources. There are other ways to survive, without destroying what we SHOULD cherish. Anyways, some of you may disagree, but this is my crappy (but meaningful) poem. Ancient mountains carry strength and wisdom, Perhaps they’ve seen undocumented history. Ocean sands believe the current’s dreams; Perhaps they erode from the water’s distress. Caverns yet untouched, carry immortal treasure, Perhaps they sense our greed. The largest trees have longest roots. Perhaps they feel the land’s abuse. The clouds cover our Earth like a blanket. Perhaps it protects us for a reason. Perhaps nature detests what we’ve become. And the mountains remain silent from our hate. And the Ocean’s sands wash away from the shores. And the Caverns hide the riches from our greed. And the Trees weep for the land’s abuse. And the clouds are dying from pollution. Perhaps, Perhaps, Perhaps….
  16. Zariah slightly blushed, and made a cute curtsey. She followed behind them inside. Suddenly, she felt claws on her shoulder. It was Wanderer. In crow tongue, they spoke. "What is it Wanderer?" "Something has happened in the forest, it's urgent that you must see!" "But...but...I have a Ball to host, will this be long?" "No, not too long, maybe 10 minutes at the most. Hurry, let's go" Zariah decided that this was an appropriate time to try out her newly discovered form. She closed her eyes, and chanted in Crow: "Mother Wing, and Father Flight, I was born upon the chosen night. To change my form from foot to wing, To you, your hopes, I bring. Please grant me transformation now, For I have taken the Kantola vow." As she finished the final words, she began her transformation. Her body began to shrink, and she felt soft feathers at her sides. She saw new colors, and her senses were heightened. She took flight, and joined Wanderer in the sky. "Wow! Zariah, I've not seen your transformation before! You are beautiful!" "Well, uh, thanks. This IS the second time I've ever done it. Now, tell me where we are going, and why?" "You would not believe this, but Fiery has just had her babies!” “Oh that’s WONDERFUL! Shall we all be chanting the ceremonial birth ritual?” “Exactly, and she wants YOU to lead. So I had to fetch you.” They arrived at the nest, and Zariah saw both clans present. She changed her form back, and the Crows were very surprised. They had never seen her transformation. She smiled, and headed to the tree to climb up to Fiery and her babies. She spoke to everyone. “Let the naming ceremony begin. Will the Father come forward?” Bright Eyes came forward and perched on Zariah’s shoulder. The ceremony ended about fifteen minutes later, and the three baby crows were named. The two males were called Flit and the other Fervor. The female was named Downy. “I’m so sorry to leave you all right now, but I have a Ball to host, I hope you understand.” The crows all bowed their heads, and Zariah changed into her crow form and flew as fast as she could back to the Conservatory. Hiding behind a tree, she changed back into human form and brushed herself off. She wondered how much excitement she had missed.
  17. "My dress is saved! I wonder who did this?" Zariah looked up and saw Peredhil head toward Tzimfemme, and she instantly knew. "Of course, he's so sweet! Well now I can find Venefyxatu for Gwai. Speaking of which, where is he?" She looked around the room to hopefully spot either of them.
  18. Covered in punch, Zariah, a bit confused and dizzy, decided to find Venefyxatu after she slipped back to her room for another outfit. She was near tears, when she saw Ayshela and welcomed her to the Ball. Looking toward the door, she was in a dilemma. Should she run to her room or find Venefyxatu first?
  19. I'm extending the Ball into March in hopes that others can arrive and participate.
  20. Zariah smiled as she watched Black's presentation to Sweetcherrie, and decided to refill her cup with punch. She looked up and saw Wyvern on the wall. "What the heck is he doing? OH great, not only is he ruining the decorations, he'll cause a scene and maybe get hurt...." She moved the farthest away from that wall, and waiting in anticipation for the disaster to occur.
  21. "Wow!" thought Zariah, "That was magical! I've never danced with Peredhil before, what a treat!" She sipped her punch and looked around to see how the guests were interacting. "Well, I am sure glad that everyone is having a good time. I feel so much better now, and calm and energized...I wonder.....was that Peredhil's doing? Oh well, he is too kind!" With that final thought, she ambled over to the doorway, eager to see who would appear next.
  22. A bit confused by the chaos, Zariah realized she was no longer dancing with Pilocanci, and she recalled Tzimfemme's words: "It's more fun to pursue them, and they don't often mind. . .poor silly lonely men," and she flicked a hand at Pilocanci, "even him. Chase one today and promise another for tomorrow and you'll be through the gauntlet in no time--just remember to not look back, yesterday's men take that for fresh permission--" Zariah was puzzled. She had only danced withhim; it was no big deal...she had never had a boyfriend and it never crossed her mind to think of him that way....WHAT was she talking about??? Zariah was really confused, so she went back to her seat by the door and pulled out her book to hide behind while she tried to figure everything out.
  23. That is sooo sweet! I'm sure he will love it!
  24. "Sure, um...well as you know, I read A LOT. I recently found out that I AM a crow. But, that's a long story...I have the ability to fly, communicate with all crow clans, send energy to other beings, and I spend a lot of time in the forest with my friends...one in particular is my best friend, his name is Wanderer. It was him and his family clans who decorated for the Ball. So I carved the centerpieces, which are crows holding roses in their beaks in honor of them. Soon, I will transform and have a crimson jewel on my forehead, which marks me in my human form as a crow. I am special since I can transform into a human, and I'd like to find others of my kind." Zariah was twirled in a circle, and she laughed because it was so much fun.
  25. Let me know when you will be doing stuff, and I'll come to your radio show in person!
