  1. I guess that was a short game for me...I'll continue lurking
  2. Tina hadn’t liked the captain much, but she liked the lieutenant less. He stared at her often. And she’d heard whispers about him liking young boys. She shuddered, she should be careful, lest he’d find out that she wasn’t a young boy by force. She slipped downstairs and pulled the plank that hid her secret stash. Adam generally made sure that he held some nice things aside for her. Normally she took it to the slaves, she couldn’t risk her breasts growing anyways, but today she needed the energy it would give her. Chewing on a piece of juicy bacon she sat in her dark corner. Who on earth could’ve done this? Certainly not Adam, he was way too nice to do anything like this. And the way she had heard the captain was murdered sort of ruled out some of the smaller boys, or didn't it? OOC: Vote for Azuran - Paqs (young boy)
  3. Dark is the night I stare up I’m five years old Hiding under my mom’s bedspread My cheek against her, her arm around me Protected and loved. Pinpricks of light I try to count those stars Like I count the years From then until now And sigh. oh...a new line...erm Bit corny... 'love is....'
  4. She didn't feel much like working with Carey and Davey. In fact she didn't like much working together with anyone, it...complicated things. So instead she chose to deal with the slave decks, a job nobody else much wanted normally, and she didn't mind. Scrubbing was scrubbing. Down below she let her eyes get used to the dark. Many eyes were staring back at her. Some from ground level, some at eye-height. Dark faces, with dark glistening eyes. 'Missy have bread?' a soft voice whispered. Tina knew that most of the crew considered these people as less than pigs, but she often wondered who the pigs were. They seemed to do their very best to keep their cages clean, which is more than she could say from some of her shipmates. She looked at the woman that the voice had come from, she recognized her. This woman had come accross as one of the leaders from the female slaves. Tina remembered the others calling here Aziza. 'No. Aziza? not today. I've just come to clean up your buckets'. The woman flashed a grin, and reached behind her to grab the bucket with feces. 'Missy good to us,' The black woman whispered 'so we good to missy.' and handed the bucket over. Tiny took it and stood there for a moment, not sure how to react. She then turned around without saying something and started to move to the corner that had the tubes going into the ocean to empty the bucket. Mid-way she froze a second. The woman had called her missy, not massa. This may end badly.
  5. I'll take sun over rain.......darn I live in the wrong country pen or keyboard?
  6. She didn't like having to pretent being someone else, but hey all sailors seemed to think a woman aboard would be bad luck, and she had to make a living somehow. So Tina did the only thing she had learned from her dead-beat dad, and got herself a job as a junior deckhand aboard The Fat Slug. For her first trip she had cut her hair short, but fast enough she realized that as long as she didn't comb it, none of the men noticed a thing, they were all too occupied with their own jobs. Hiding her breasts was a different deal however. She made sure to not eat too much, and wound her upperbody tightly in cloth, still she worried about what would happen if anybody ever found out. For the moment it worked however, the men started calling her Tiney. She pulled her weight, and hey, the captain had even asked her to come back for another trip.
  7. Shaken, if you're going to mix it, might as well do it properly. Believing or Knowing?
  8. Good, low-key is good. Looking forward to that wherewolf game that was started yesterday, maybe it'll get me kick-started *hugs*
  9. It had been a long time since she had sat down with a keyboard to see if she could write anything. She wasn't sure if she still had it in her. Years ago she had written some short stories, and even a novella, but life had taken over and though she had been wanting to write, even made a few attempts at it, it never really wanted to come out. She blamed life. She blamed her boyfriend. She blamed her job, and the everlasting need for money. Not that she was poor, not at all, but it still seemed as if there was never enough. She sighed and looked at the empty screen of her tablet again. This had changed at least. Back then she had been confined to write in her room on her computer. She'd had a laptop, but back then the machine was so fast out of battery that attempting to write anything on it for more than an hour had been impossible. Now she had a shiny ipad in front of her, with a lightweight keyboard. Would this make it easier? Easier to get the words out on paper? Following others was about the only thing she did nowadays. Watching as pen friends published books. Wanting to read them, but somehow being scared it would remind her of her own lack of words. Or more her own ...yeah what? At least she had noone else to blame for not writing, but herself. She was the one who had made the choice to buy a house together with her boyfriend. She was there when they got a second cat, and when they picked up their first adorable puppe, and their second. She willingly signed up for another study that took many hours from her already busy week. Now granted, her studies gave her a feeling of satisfaction. Every time she passed another course, she felt proud that she was proving that she could do it. Then again, wasn't it her own sense of insecurity that drove her to yet again pick up another studies? Why did she need to prove that she was good enough? She slumped in the chair a little, thinking of the exam that she would have this afternoon. She had set herself up for failure this time. She had come with excuses that she needed her holiday, that she needed time for herself and to relax. The end result was that she was most certainly going to fail the exam this afternoon. Staring out of the window she regretted that the summer was about to pass over into fall again already. Had she taken enough out of this summer? The holiday certainly had been going too fast. On the one hand she had wanted to relax, force herself to actually have a proper holiday, to enjoy herself. On the other hand there had been the exam throwing a shadow over her entire holidays. It felt as if she had waisted her time, as she had so often done. That she could've done so much more, if only she had put her energy into it. Instead a load of excuses was everpresent as to why she would basically sit back and do nothing of interest. Afterwards she would have trouble remembering what she had done. Well...that is, until she actually thought about it properly. Most of her days had been filled, right? She turned back to her tablet and started making a list of what she had done this summer holiday. They had cleaned the whole house together, top to bottom. That had taken at least a few days. They had gone to IKEA for shopping for a day, that had been fun. She had read a couple of good books, watched quite a few good films, and had even spent some time with her mom going to second-hand markets. Also, they had been to the zoo twice. Hmm...maybe her holiday wasn't all wasted time. Another big sigh escaped her and she looked at the screen. Funny, it wasn't empty anymore. A story had appeared as out of thin air. Maybe she could still write a little. Maybe all it took was just to sit down and do it. Maybe, just maybe, she would find more time to write a little....tomorrow.
  10. Don't stop posting now. I want to know what happened to the pregnant lady This reminds me of some Tanith Lee books btw, the style of writing and the feel it creates.
  11. How about the moon phases and their significance?
  12. Never have I ever seen more precious pebbles that I could hear flowing through the breeze of the blue trees.

    Werewolf?

*raises hand* mememe I'm up for a wherewolf game! I am soooo up for a wherewolf game.
  14. 'too busy, toobusy, gargh,' Sweetcherrie was mumbling too herself as she walked past the Cabaret Room. From inside she heard party noises, and for a moment she considered to wander in. Unfortunately she still had a list from here to Tokyo of things she had to do, so she wouldn't have time to stay and party along anyway. She picked a piece of paper from her pocket and wrote something on it. Then she folded it into a small airplane and threw it into the room, where it neatly landed....in Mynx's eye. Mynx growled softly, and picked up the already half unfolded airplane. 'Happy birthday! Sweetcherrie,' it read. The feline looked up, but Sweetcherrie had already disappeared again.
  15. OOC: Gah, I want to post, have half a reply ready in my head even, just that work and the new house are both trying to kill me atm so I'm struggling with time x_X
  16. Oh, I lurk, but most of the time feel out of place to post, so I enjoy quietly from the sideline Thanks Gwai for these words.
  17. Words are just words in the end, neh? Only line that interupts it slightly for me is the second one, but that's prolly just me. nice stuff
  18. Was told that perhaps it was time to move on, So I did. Dived into WoW and my guild there, and didn't really come out again. I still write, every now and then. Started a thread here, 1 loyal person reacted (yay for Wyvern). Still miss certain people from here, but the community is no longer mine. Seems like moving on, instead of trying to hold on to something that no longer existed (the boards when I first came here) was the right choice. Doesn't mean I'm not thankful for the time I've had here, just means that I've excepted that time goes forward, and not back
  19. The world turned and turned, and little Sweet was starting to feel slightly nauseous. She closed her eyes tight, and hoped that it would soon stop. And sure enough, with a soft thud, she landed on a grassy plain. She carefully opened one eye, and then the other. The world she saw was more colourful than she had ever seen before, and Sweet had seen quite a few worlds before. The grass under her felt soft, and was bright green, the clouds above her in the sky were lollipop pink, and in the distance she saw some purple trees. She got up, and walked towards the nearest bush she saw. The bush had small berrylike things in it that looked like chewing gum. The temptation was too big for a little girl, and Sweet stuck one in her mouth. Thoughtfully she tasted, and that with a surprised little giggle she chewed down on it, it was chewing gum! With both her hands she started grabbing chewing gum balls, sticking one after the other in her mouth to taste all the different colours. Sweet got entirely caught up in the delicious flavours, so much that she didn’t notice what was happening around her anymore. There were so many flavours, strawberry, banana, peach, ice-cream, sulphur….sulphur? She chewed a bit more thoughtful on that one, and found that it wasn’t the gum ball that tasted like sulphur, but that it was something in the air. Then she remembered, and slowly turned around. ~~~~~~~~ Meanwhile in the Pen Keep, Zira was starting to get angry with that not entirely a dragon person thing. Why was he just standing there? He should be saving her little Sweet. Zira nervously paced back and forth through the dungeon, and then decided to take action, something had to be done. Wyvern snickers to himself and begins scribbling new thoughts on dungeon decor for his Almost Dragonic Brand Modern Artsy Exhibit™, still completely oblivious to the entire Sweet situation... Then from behind Zira glomped into him. Everything Wyvern had in his hands went flying, and face forward the lizard fell onto the picture. This time the magical pens didn’t need the magic of the kitten, the magic of the almost dragon was enough on its own, and the portal started slurping Wyvern in.
  20. Makes me wonder how many of those who understand Dutch this place has now o_O
  21. OOC: Feel free to join in. A small sliver of light fell through the bedraggled windows. Specks of dust travelled in the beam towards the centre of the room, and a careful observer would be able to see them land gently on a head with blond curls. The girl sat in the middle of the room, so busy that she didn’t notice the sun on her hair, or the how soiled the room was. On the ground before the girl lay a thumbed sheet of paper and the tip of her tongue was just visible between her lips as she screwed her face up in concentration. Sweet was drawing a dragon on the paper, a nice dragon. Gyrfalcon had once promised her a dragon, but of course he hadn’t wanted to give her the big black and red one she wanted, so she had decided to draw one for herself. She had gathered her magical pens, had stolen some piece of paper from Wyvern’s desk, and had taken all of it to the deepest dungeon of the Pen Keep. She had taken, Zira, the kitten Mynx had once given to her along, and had sneaked down all the stairs. At least here she was absolutely sure that nobody would disturb her. With the black pen she had drawn the outline, and had coloured in most of the dragon. The red pen she had used to colour flames on his wings. She had even thought about where to hide the dragon once it had become alive, and had drawn a portal to a different world behind the dragon. They could both hide in the other world and play when she wanted to, and when she had to go back the dragon could fly around freely in that other world. ‘Oh darn,’ she mumbled to herself and grabbed for the eraser. She rubbed vigorously and waved the paper around to get the rubbing off again. A couple of number showed on the back of the paper, and some words were still readably through the grime that was now stuck on the back of the paper- ‘Dragonic Underwear $23.995,-’, but the girl didn’t care about the back of the paper, she only cared about the fact that the dragon was almost ready. Behind her the eternal kitten tumbled over as she whacked a couple of Sweet’s pens around, and mewed softly. ‘Quiet now, Zira, I have to….there’ With a big grin Sweet held up the paper in front of her. The dragon looked awfully mean, but Sweet was happy, and she showed the picture to the kitten. ‘I need your help now Zira, you need to make it real’ Zira hissed at the drawing and a took a few steps back. ‘Aww, c’mon now,’ Sweet grabbed the kitten and rubbed her against the drawing. The air around the drawing sparkled, as if it filled with electricity. Zira hissed again, wormed herself out of Sweet’s arms, and fled to a corner. Sweet put the drawing on the floor and took a step back. She was half-dancing and clapping in her hands, chanting, ‘I will have a dragon, come here little dragon, be my cute dragon.’ A blue swirl opened up above the drawing, and for a moment it looked as if the dragon would materialize into the dungeon. But then the swirl stretched itself out towards Sweet, grabbed her, and moments later Zira was left alone in the room. The kitten mewed sadly, as if she wanted to ask where the little girl had done. With careful steps she walked closer to the piece of paper that still lay in the centre of the room. On the paper was nothing else to see than the portal that had once been portrayed behind the dragon, and both the dragon and the girl were nowhere to be seen. Zira, smart as she was, understood what must have happened, and sprinted out of the dungeon in search of help.
  22. A young lady with a black attaché case under her arm walks into the room. She places the case on the table, takes out some papers and neatly arranges them on the table next to the case. “Sir Mardrax if I may have your attention for a few minutes please?” Her voice is soft and polite as she places her hand on Mardrax's arm, “I was wondering if I could show you a proposition.” Mardrax raises an eyebrow at Sweetcherrie, and the girl's cheeks turn red with a healthy blush. “Well, I was wondering, I mean with all the talent around here, and Wyvern trying to claim all of it to himself, if you would consider working for..well me.” “You? Sorry, but I only write for myself.” Mardrax turns around again, thinking that the conversation would be finished with that, but Sweetcherrie doesn't give up just that easily yet. “I would make sure you get a decent commission of course. Like err...I dunno, what would you think yourself- oh durn I'm no good in this, I'll leave it up to Wyvern to scam people around here.” Biting on her fingernail, Sweetcherrie tries to think how to rephrase what she was trying to say, and then decides that she should just forget about it. With a sigh she starts picking up her paperwork again and shuffles it back in the suitcase. She closes the attaché case, and with a smile she hugs Mardrax. “Congratulations with your promotion, and I hope we'll soon get to have fun with your community project, or quill quest as they call it here. I've seen some good ones die because of the pressure put on them, but just remember that they're there for fun, and to have something for the Pen members to have fun with, together.” OOC: Welcome in QB Ranks Mardrax
