  1. *blushes when she realizes she skipped entirely over this thread last night* Happy belated Gyr! *gives a mortified glance around the room and makes a run for it*
  2. Not much to say besides Happy Birthday Zool! :-)
  3. Wow Justin... that was amazing. It read very smoothly, and it brought to mind other poems that I know I've read (but can't think of the names for the life of me). As Sorciere so accurately put it, beautiful visually and literally.
  4. And yet another welcome from one of the lesser seen Pen members! Good poem, I really liked it. Sad to say I think everyone goes through that at least once. Must be a mandatory requirement for life experience or something. Anyway, welcome again, and I do look forward to reading more.
  5. *pokes her head in while she's got some time to say hello to and give hugs to everyone* It was a darn good book though...only took me roughly 13 hours to finish (two days if you count time spent sleeping, and interruptions, etc.) Cheers for speed-reading!
  6. Finnius...nope, I didn't stick around until after the credits...I had no idea there was going to be a preview for the third one. I quit kicking myself for it though. *rushes off to read what she can before her cup of coffee runs out and she goes back to sleep*
  7. Eep! Ok, I'll blame the birthday thing on Ken, cause he said it first. Made me think it was your birthday. *lightly nudges you in the direction of the recruitment hall with a giggle*
  8. Ah, mythology! Gotta love it! Seriously, I loved this Wren. I enjoyed the imagery, and now have the urge to go read some Greek mythology.
  9. Very creepy, and very sad as well. The end part started to bring tears to my eyes. And the sympathetic "It'll be ok" that comes in every situation like that nearly kills...because with something like that, you know that it won't be ok, ever again. *quietly applauds* (Glad you and your friend are ok....there are lots of crazy drivers out there)
  10. Ooh! I like these...especially Fear. It reminds me of things I've experienced before. And it reminds me of textbook definitions of bipolar disorder, in a way. That part reminds me of the depressive aspect of it, and the dizzying energy of the manic aspect. I'll have to come back and read them again when I have more time to think about the other two poems (as well as the dizzying amount in the Banquet Hall itself!). (Good work Tara, and Happy Birthday! -- Heather)
  11. Happy Belated Birthday Pered! (I knew I should have gotten online yesterday...)
  12. LOL! Oh how could I have missed this on the first time around?? *sits back in her chair and snickers* I could say some things, but in the case that some people here haven't seen Reloaded yes, I refuse to spoil it. But about the chicken thing....if they really wanted to know what it tastes like, why not just ask Col. Sanders (the Architect guy)? (I was sorely disappointed by the ending though...for two hours after the movie, my friend had to put up with me saying "That's just so wrong!" )
  13. My eyes just about popped out of my head when I saw that topic Rune! *hugs the evil little demoness*
  14. Welcome Madoka! I've heard of your reputation from AM (and seen some posts on old boards...CT, most likely), but I haven't read any of your work. I look forward to it. Blondie aka Kaiyn, WhiteShark, various others
  15. awesome rev! now all it needs is to be put to music. :-) *couldn't think of anything else to add, so leaves it at that*
  16. It's a little late *briefly grumbles about work*, but hope you had a Happy Birthday Elwen!
  17. Happy Birthday guys...even if it is now seriously belated! *raises a small bottle of codeinated cough syrup and drinks a teaspoonful to that*
  18. Words fail to convey my disgust at people who are so warped that they can just walk away and use that as an excuse for physical abuse. That's just sick, and it saddens me to think that they can just shrug it off like it's nothing. Sure, I may be oversensitizing here, but god...abuse is abuse, no matter what kind, and no matter what way you slice it. Sure, what doesn't kill you will make you stronger....but that's taking it a bit far... Ugh...that's just so disturbing!
  19. That is simply stunning Yui. *jaw drops in amazement* :woot:
  20. Oooh...I like! :woot: And I absolutely adore the Breath of Fire series. (I have one of them downloaded on my computer.....shhhhh!) Would this be in reference to Breath of Fire II, perchance?
  21. Yep, Tas, there are people reading. Like me. Who read, and want to comment, but when I get to the post a reply screen, can't for the life of me think of what to type in here...my mind goes completely blank. (it's happened several other times...in other threads...very unnerving) But, I do have to say that I really liked Life's End and Dreams of You & Me. Filled with an almost complete understanding of the emotions behind both of them. And you brought up a good point in Dreams....although it's not always true. There are always people who will never see what you see, never see a situation the same way you see it, sometimes won't even bother to try. It's rough when you're dealing with what seems like a sea of those people. Whoa... I really started rambling there.... Good work Tas! We do read your work, even if we don't always comment.
  22. I had heard the same thing from a former coworker about Poetry.com. She was supposed to have won something, but she couldn't go to the little convention to receive her reward, and she would have had to have paid $160 to have someone else accept her award for her and read her poem. And from what she told me, the only way your poetry will actually get published is if you buy the anthology it's in. Not quite sure though...just relating it as it was told to me.
  23. twisted little serpent telling me your lies hissing in my ear all the things I wanted to hear. lethal little spider spun me in your web so caught up was I didn't feel the bite until I was already dead. howling through the ether my spirit is unquiet deep well of rage uncovered lashing out with tooth and nail meaning of hate discovered. After stewing on it for the better part of a day, I took Zariah's advice and used a synonym for one of the death words in the second stanza. It was actually a tough call...I was really tempted to use toxic instead of lethal. And if words are going to come pouring out of me like they did with this one, I really should get upset more often.
  24. Happy Birthday Wyv! Hope you're enjoying it!
