  1. What a perversely dark image of the dangers of Meth. I think you've really captured something here. I would like to see this with more punctuation than the period at the end. You have a knack of painting emotional images with your words - raw and jagged to read. Good Stuff Chey'.
  2. I like the feeling of fear you captured here. I think a bit of punctuation might help to reflect the pauses that happened when I read it aloud. In line 3 - "as" instead of "like" felt better when I tried it - what do you think? I do know it's WONDERFUL to see you posting again.
  3. *hug*
  4. He not only had half-brothers, but half-sisters too, but they didn't get named. I love the image of you and Jesus sitting and laughing together. That's the relationship that I'd like to have with him. What a wonderful dream! *gives her a high five* Thanks for sharing it. Now I've got a smile where I didn't before.
  5. (sneaks in and gives her a recovery day from all the birth day's events)
  6. *hugs and prayers*
  7. Heh, I love this sort of thing. Like the "this song has no title" song. *hugs*
  8. Always good to see you here. As I age, it's easier to lament the past than live the present. But face to the future is the course I must take.
  9. 1) I bought 5 tickets from a girl in High School on whom I had a semi-crush. I gave 4 away and saved one for my scrap book. It won a hand-made quilt that had been donated to the raffle by my cub-scout Den-Mother before she died. I'd take the quilt. 2) Heart Bear 3) my Beatles cap
  10. Memento - you sound very knowledgeable on the subject as well as passionate. Too cool! Join and get busy in the Critic's Corner! That's the place that people post things for the really down and gritty learning process feedback. We don't have many who can provide your type of feedback and it's needed. Many of our members are just average guy/gal-on-the-street who, if they've ever thought about poetry, did it only in the shower and laughed uneasily at themselves when they said it. My "Should I post?" poem is written to that type. You have skill AND training on criticizing - I really think you'd be a strong addition in the right place - the Critic's Corner. Fortunately, you picked Sparhawk to whom to make suggestions; I know from experience how strong he is and so it was no problem. Some of our other members prolly would've curled up emotionally and died at the strength of your feedback! suggestively, Peredhil
  11. Much of it quite true. If you don't post often, how can you find your "voice".
  12. It counts. Fantastic! *hugs*
  13. Silvered pieces of glass lie - let your friend's eyes and words be your mirror. It's not your pants that make your butt look big, it's your butt. When asking for reassurance, make sure you specify you want reassurance. When venting, please note that problem-solving isn't required. It puts everyone on the same communication model up front. Maturity is meeting all responsibilities, and knowing for what you aren't responsible. With the rest of life, have fun, be silly, grow up to be young at heart. As C.S. Lewis said, "The only ones against Escapism are Jailors". If you are responsible, you are accountable. Accountability cannot be passed or deferred, it will always come back in some way. Doing nothing or chosing to do things another person's way - you are still accountable. God, Karma, or whatever your paradigm, provides consequences on the cosmic scale.
  14. *happy huggles to all* given my long silence, it's nice to know I've not been forgotten. Real Life has me down, but I'm going for two falls out of three.
  15. *hugs everyone* Thank you all.

  25. LOL!!! Finally, someone who knows the reality of me. I will point out that, when I think about it, I am very manipulative. Love is one of the most powerful forms of manipulation there is, and I do love a number of people.
