  1. Sometimes making them longer just turns them into crap. So there's nothing wrong with keeping them short.
  2. Nice...and short - my favorite kind! I like your new customized title, very befitting.
  3. My greatest inspiration is the "Crooked wheels of rhyme" (Dylan...not Dylan Thomas, Bob Dylan) that is music. So oftentimes my rhyme scheme is rather simplistic, and typical even. But I find it reads well that way (for me at least), almost as if it was intended to be sung. Tell me what you think of this next one: Insanity has taken me, Taken me away from it all. Where once I was a stranger, Where once I was so small; Now I live my life, I live it as I would Were I truly free, As only here I could, For only here I could be.
  4. ~~Green~~I can't reveal why that is though~~>
  5. Entrapped within my tomb I scratch with bloody fingers, From which the pain still lingers. I perceive my doom.
  6. I don't think I could manage that X-Sabre, one can only be so nice before they snap. And thank you Arwen, your kind words are much appreciated.
  7. Faces hang on the wall, Looking out at me; Stuck in a moment For all eternity. Troubled by the changes That have come about; Struggling in silence, Taken in by doubt. I can't help but pity them, Poor souls they are; Once they were so special, In a time that's now so far. And I can't help but wonder Why it is I stay; I must leave this place, I have to walk away. It is not to happen, I can't move at all; For now I'm but a picture Hanging on the wall. I know, this is my usual rhyme scheme. But I like it, so I don't care. I'm no poet, just a simple guy that like to write some lines of verse in his free time. I just hope others can enjoy reading it, as I enjoy writing it (most times).
  8. Hehe, yeah, I had noticed that. Not that I've seen any posts from Jechum, but I guess that's another story.
  9. I'm glad to hear your RL is treating you well Appy. Wish I could say the same. I just got fired from my shit-ass job.
  10. Oh, and I remember that Nintendo Power issue dedicated to FF1 Falcon, it was very helpful. Back in the days when they could devote an entire issue to one game - 'tis truly mind-boggling.
  11. Oh, and that article does sound a little fishy. Some of those things the kids said...
  12. I'm old school all the way. I've actually basically given up gaming in my "old" age. I'm 19. The thing that was so great about games back in the day was that things were new and unspoiled. We didn't take them for granted. Nowadays it's different. I watch as my little brother (10 now) goes through games, never really appreciating them. It's sad, but I suppose our dependence upon our electronic toys is even more so.
  13. Sorry to see you go man. I hope I can still catch you on IRC or ICQ sometime. You needn't bother being polite around me.
  14. It's been awhile: Springs into summers, Falls into winters, The sands are at their end; Thus we meet again. ---------------------------------------------- I am incomplete: Head, nose, toes, and feet. Where is what I need? I find it not in mead; It is something more: Window, fence, and door. Thoughts from whence I came, No good comes from blame. I look once again, Can't help but wonder when... ---------------------------------------------- Nothing has changed But your point of view, Once you saw red But now you see blue. Now is the time To see what is "true." I know my way, How about you? ---------------------------------------------- I survived everything, but I didn't survive you; I know nothing, but I know that it's true. My body has washed up upon the shore, Waves carry my soul now and forever more. The space that I've occupied will not be missed, Says I, Though I lie; A voyager in the mist. I wonder what it is I've done wrong; It is past, Nothing lasts, Only in a song.
  15. Hey Appy, I'm surprised you're still responding to most of my posts. You're too good to me. I haven't really been around here much, I just peek in quickly from time to time. So unfortunately I haven't been reading many of the writings you and others have been posting. The poem has somewhat of a story behind it...relating to my current poverty stricken state.
  16. I am but a simple, common man; I can't do it all, but I do the best that I can. The winter is harsh, and chills to the bone; The wind howls and the trees they do moan; The future looks bleak as the winter grows cold; The food will not last, the supplies will not hold. I must venture out into the pale face of death; There is no time to dawdle, I hope there's time left; I must risk the cold so the others may eat. Keep on walking, though I can't feel my feet; My stomach is empty, and I'm growing weak. It can't be much further - God save the meek! But God is not here in this time or place, Even he couldn't bare the expression on my face. I fear all of my toil is for not, for I can not go on; The blizzard beats down on me, it knows it has won. I couldn't see salvation, even if it was near; That I walked right by it was always my fear; I shall never know now, for I am at my end. Come for us forsaken, for us you do send!
  17. Thanks all for your comments. Sleepless, unfortunately my current situation does not allow me to get on IRC. I'm sure someday I'll be around there again, but probably not for a while.
  18. There is a door, that I am To unlock; within myself It doth reside. I find myself In the most peculiar of places, leaving me To wonder why. My thoughts left unchecked Grow palpable, To hurt me as only they can. I am struggling To keep up with who I am; It is Not what I have. There is always, And forever shall be, something I reach for To achieve my piece of serenity.
  19. Thank you very much. It's nice to be one of the accepted.
  20. Not a good trip? Acid? I like to write while my 'shroom trips are tailing off myself. Nice poem btw.
  21. Young in age and spirit. I listen to a lot of music, and I like a rhyme scheme that flows well, allowing me to sing my poems if I want to.
