  1. Great, so even if we didn't want to have everyone be assigned a character, I could still fill the ones that I wanted filled. More volunteers?
  2. Here's the idea: The Setting is the Salem Witch Trials of 1692. In this game, "Witches" will take the place of the wolves, a "witness"" will take the place of the seer, and a "Faithkeeper" will take the place of a Baner. I will assign these rolls after they have been selected at random, and anyone else is a part of the peasantry. Due to the fact that there will be at least one person with the actual title of "Reverend" in the game (and that this person may or may not be the baner), I changed the title of the baner in order to make things less confusing. In order to make the game more historically accurate, for the purposes of role-play, the "day" phase will represent a week or so in time, and will be reffered to (in character) as "the trial". At any time during the trial, any person may cry out against a person suspected of witchcraft against the village of Salem. Finally comes the tricky part: I'm considering assigning each of you (participants) a character to play. By character (using examples from previous games), I mean to say the persona you take on. For example, Tanuchan was a werewolf in the Wild West game, but that was her role. Her character was that of Amanda Cartwright, married to Nathaniel Cartwright, and having an affair with Markus Black. Obviously, I will allow you room to create and play your character--the object of these games is creativity, and I wouldn't infringe upon that. However, I do want the following characters to be played by an actual person, and I'm not sure if anyone would volunteer: 1. A town Reverend, newly established in Salem 2. A town Marshall, sort of like a chief of police 3. Various officials of the church, including a Church Treasurer and other members 4. Tituba (a servant from Barbados, speaks little english and works with the children... in actuality, she was put to death for witchcraft, but that's not necessarily the case here ) These roles can be difficult, and I'm sure that not everyone could pull them off. Plus, being assigned a roll makes things a little different, and it's never been tried before. However, I have a feeling that people won't like this idea, so I've left it open to polling. When you reply to the poll, if you vote against being assigned a roll, please specify what character you would like to play and if you would be willing to take on one of those roles I've listed above. Thank you, and please sign up and vote!
  3. Briefly the, hamburger wondered what it was doing in all this lettuce and yellow stuff, before it screamed in pain... And then, the beef was *really* dead.
  4. Merelas teleports into the room yet again, and whispers to a person in the back, inquiring as to the current level of bid. He winces as he hears, and considers for a few moments. "Are we all finished, sir?" asks the auctioneer, looking at Merelas inquizitively. The fire-elf frowns for a moment, before saying far less vehemently than before, "Five and fifty."
  5. Merelas raises his hand, and calls out, "Twenty!" Before flaming out of the room again.
  6. Congratulations to both of you! May your birthdays be extremely memorable.
  7. The next morning, Walter wanders out into the common room and sits in the same corner by himself again. In the night, he had decided that he wouldn't take any chances, and had armed himself with a letter opener that he had found in his room in the desk. It had a sound blade, and during the night he had sharpened it effectively. With a few chemicals he had stolen from the bathroom, he had concocted a homemade poison that he rememebered from his studies in medical school. Having applied the poison to the blade, he then wrapped it sheathed it in kleenex. The next morning, he placed the weapon carefully up his sleeve, and went out to join the rest of the party... although this had to be the least fun he'd ever had at one, including all four of his high-school proms. He quickly got some breakfast and began to eat from his corner chair.
  8. Hey! I like it also, it's very good. I wonder where you got the name Tiffany from? I like the way you use it, and I read it trying to imagine the cadence that you used. Obviously I probably read it wrongly, but The way I heard it I liked it. I also liked the theme you used, and the message the words conveyed. I hope that someday you record this as it's supposed to be played and then I can listen to it in real time Well done!
  9. Congratulations, DL! It's obviously well deserved, or you wouldn't have been promoted.
  10. Merelas jogged into the room breathlessly, listened to the auctioneer to determine what the bid he was calling for was, and bellowed a "TEN!" before turning and running out again, dashing off to check on his other bids.
  11. In a swirl of flame, Merelas transports himself to the next auction room, the auction for The Pendant of Canla the Silver-tongued. Several around him jumped back at the flames that he stepped out of before dousing them with a wave of his hand. Quickly, he placed his fingertips together before spreading them out in a lightning-quick motion. Sparks flew out of them and conjoined briefly to form a number: 20 With that, he summoned a tower of flames again, which he stepped into, doubtlessly checking the progress of his bids on other items.
  12. Merelas stepped into the auction room and took his seat just before an enormous cascade of sound washed over the room. "HEAR YE, HEAR YE!" the auctioneer declared, and then continued with his quest for a bid. In the tradition of fire-elves, Merelas sent a jet of flame into the air that one of the searchers took as a bid (which it was). "YEP!" He screamed, and the auctioneer burred through another speech, calling for the next bid.
  13. Merelas shakes Xaious' hand on his way out Godspeed, friend.
  14. My home is surrounded by wheat fields also! Huzzah for farmers!
  15. Walter listened to the accusations flying, and wondered who, if any, could be guilty out of those hat had been accused. Only the man whose wife had alread been taken into captivity seemed suspicious... how could the accusal and commonlaw conviction of his wife not affect him? Or at least, he seemed unaffected. So, if it was asked of him, he would volunteer his vote. (OOC: Vote for Markus Black--Degenero Angelus)
  16. Yeah... work has hijacked my life, but other than that I'm good Sorry for not voting as well, but I *hope* I'll be here for an appropriate amount of time, now.
  17. Well... This had gotten to be too much. Walter's asthma was acting up again for the first time in ages, so he quietly excuses himself to the table of refreshments, where he quickly uses his inhaler, and then gulps down some punch to wash the taste out of his mouth. Quickly he spins around... he's getting more and more paranoid by the second. Searching the faces of all the guests, eyes wide, he backs himself into the corner where there's a chair. Quickly, he sits... Here at least no one can sneak up behind me, he thinks.
  18. Merelas simply smiles. "A great honor, and I--" Fortunately, before he could enroll himself into a long and boring ordeal of an acceptance speech, he is hugtackled to the floor.
  19. Yay! Beautiful Description! I love the way it sounds!! You are awesome, post more often! My only criticism with this was that it was really short... and that's ok, because you wrapped it up, but it left me wanting more. I can't get over the eyes line! Yay! Kudos to you, Ayshela.
  20. Hmm... I guess it's too early to tell... and I've got an axe to grind with Amanda anyways! J/K!
  21. Walter gasped, then looked around him. One of them was a murderer... and he didn't have the slightest idea who. "Well... Jaqui always did have a knack for seeing things that other people didn't... even though she is blind. I guess I'll stand by her. I vote for Amanda Black as well."
  22. Which is sad for those of us who have to work on Saturday
  23. As it turned out, he had passed on her request. He was still doing so, jogging down corridors and trying to find those that had helped defend the hostel against the onslaught, but he had done his best. Finally giving up, he wandered his way down towards the conference room where Lady Salinye had told him that the meeting would be at. Tired, he threw open the double-doors unceremoniously and stepped inside, unsurprised to find the Lady sitting in one of the chairs. "Lady Salinye, how are you?" he asked, as he entered the room. She looked up quickly from her thoughts, and threw a controlled expression onto her face. "Fine," she said somewhat cooly. It was quite clear that she still didn't trust him. Well... that was to be expected. He had thrown a flare through one of her windows only days before, anyways. Silently, he slipped into one of the stiff-backed chairs himself, and waited for the others to arrive, curious as to what would be said at this meeting.
  24. (OOC: Katzaniel-- Yes, Arielle and Walter still know each other and are still friends, and they've seen each other as more than friends a few times, but nothing too serious just yet. You can go ahead and assume that Walter didn't know that you worked with Arielle, though ) BIC: "Umm... wait... Jaqui? I haven't seen you in ages... how are you?" Walter is a little surprised and a little apprehensive... he had never exactly been the best of friends with his classmate--he had always gotten the feeling that she hadn't liked him much. Briefly, he considered offering to get her a glass of punch, before he remembered that she had always looked down on those who had tried to patronize her. "So... how are you?" he asked after a moment, and looked at her apprehensively.
  25. Question, Salinye-- Can you offer descriptions for more than one of the items? And then, once the submissions are chosen and your submission is chosen, can you bid on the item that has your submission, then? Since any gold you bid would pretty much be free?
