  3. The Consequence of Self-Sacrifice ---------------------------------------------- Like a void in space, It evades so swiftly. Moves from place to place, Light flashes so suddenly. The door slams shut, Grazing the end of my nose, The doorknob is before me, but My muscles halt, just froze. The ground gives way below me, But I float, caught by an invisible hand. I'm defying the laws of gravity, But there is more that I demand. Nobody ever wants to hear, The words that I have in store. It frightens them with such a fear, That a single drop can put you on the floor. There is so much self-sacrifice, And yet so little awards. Lacking all the right words and advice, I stumble, I can't move forward. And soon the silence grows with the night, Everything turns bitter cold. Trying to keep up with you, trying to fight, This war has no cause, I have nothing to hold.

  9. King of Almost Everything ------------------------------------------------- In a sea of memories, I came to drown, With so much pain rushing in my head. And on top of it, I wear my crown, So beautiful, yet feels cold and dead. Atop my mountain, I rule alone, Conquering everything, except for myself. Hidden behind these walls of stone, A king, lacking any kind of wealth. I look out my only window of hope, Pleading, screaming out in despair. Wishing that I can climb this steep slope, To get out of this eternal nightmare. The raging demon in me lurks around, Fed by the darkness that resides in me. My soul vanishes as I fall to the ground, Death looms at my door, not letting me be. He knocks, and echoes stir in my brain. Has my time already passed, Or is he taunting me, driving me insane? Only Fate knows how long I'll last. So I lay there on the cold stone floor, Watching the lit torches fading. He continues to knock upon my door, Only a matter of time, until I can stop waiting.

  12. Forever Beautiful --------------------------------------- Trees sway from side to side, at a delicate pace, The sun rises ever so slowly above the clouds so high, Birds flutter after a wind they cannot give chase, Leaving one area, without saying goodbye. But still they fly free, and onward they go, No regrets, not looking behind. Like a stream, one way it flows, Driven by instinct, it's own path it must find. But one must know the price to pay, For all beautiful things have a cost. We slowly destroy Nature's way And when it is too late, all is lost. Mountains become no more than piles of sand, Blue skies transformed into crimson fire. Trees turn to ash by the touch of a hand Destruction and death now takes the place of desire. All we can do, is watch our world fall into a dip, Taking a dive into a black abyss, And I for once will not let it slip, But alone I can't, so this world I will miss.

  14. Flames Of Remembrance ---------------------------- I look through a glass wall; See a burning passion, a desire. But the wind sweeps in, causing me to fall, Forcing me to stare up at the destruction of fire. Watching as it dies out, I stopped to think, Looking how it desperately rolled about, Trying to find oxygen to drink. I feel its pain, And hear its plea, Wishing it would remain Lit to show its beauty to me. Nothing I can do, I just stare, Watching it slowly disappear, What can I say; life just isn't fair, Dreams shattered within a broken mirror. A tear rolls down my cheek, Falling on the floor, where it would stay. Finding a way out is what I seek, Wishing for all my problems to go away. I slowly get up; run away to hide, But hesitate only to turn around, Just to feel a sharp pain in my side, The fire is out, silent, making no sound. My Path In Life ----------------------------- I walk down the mountain trail, Glancing at the moon's dancing rays, The air around me is bitter and stale, But for some reason, every part of me wants to stay. So I sit calmly upon a grassy field, Waiting for the sunrise. Light bends off the sword I yield, As I witness the past's demise. The blinding light diverges. And soon everything glows with such a radiance, Except for the place where darkness emerges, A shadow sits still behind my stance. Always following me, A constant reminder of yesterday, Until the next morning, it won't leave me be, But a new one takes it's place to stay. So I stare briefly at it, and continue, Continue my never-ending journey, Towards the unknown, towards some truth, For I am lost in life, but always free. Last Hope ------------------------- Am I going to wait Till the world ends? Or am I gonna go And hold up my world that descends? Faster and faster it goes, Tumbling into a deep, dark hole. My hands are getting weaker, Trying to grab my lingering soul. Eyes closed shut, Scared of dying. Yet I believe there is hope And a reason to keep trying. Imbued in my mind, She tempts me with her beauty, Gives me strength, To accomplish this unfinished duty. Everyday I get closer, My life slows down it's fall. My hands can now reach out, To grasp her loving call. I take a step forward, Into a world damped with misery, Looking for someone, Who can answer my only plea. (BTW Tasslehof sent me)
