  1. oh. um. not about someone I loved or even know, really. Something happened to influence the poem though.
  2. For a while, I shall stumble Trying to Figure out why. The whole thing is so tragic I know not what to say. And even when I can walk again, I know this loss has changed me. For never again can I claim that desire Since it whisked away all of him. Someday I will run freely. But never will it be from life, For this gift we all have is too blessed. I will aim to appreciate every moment.
  3. Happy Birthday! Hope you have some fun!
  4. I *think* he is the pulling from is the saying "It's a vicious cycle".
  5. Yey! We've just got internet here at the house--- fancy wireless internet---so there should be a crowboy lurking in the darkness and a crowgal weasling her way back into the hearts of the Pennites here. *Hugs* PM or E-mail me when you can!
  6. A tiny tree nymph snatched a nibble of Stick's hamburger and was gone before the breeze from her wings was visible against any solid object.
  7. Yey! *Hugs* Congrats and a belated *hug*.... It was great to meet you finally!

  9. Popping in and out of the kitchen, Zariah silently witnessed all the activity going on in the room. She saw that Mynx and Thomas were doing great, and made her way back into the kitchen to help the cooks. She ran her fingertips along the wall, and touched the shiny pots and pans. She saw the huge cauldron in the middle of the room, and dipped her hand along the rim. Things are going great! I wonder who is going to win. I sure hope Reverie feels great because this is quite a success….if only I could write again…I’d love to pay tribute to this kitchen. She swore she heard bells in her brain…overtaking her ability to think clearly. What to do? Zariah, dazed and confused, propped up against the cauldron and waited for something to happen.

  13. Foamy grey clouds close above A nameless stranger loiters As the carnival ends and lights go out He hides his face beneath his satin cloak As he holds out a cup in silence Filled only with small change, he silently laughs Feeling powerful and impenetrable Knowing his ploy would go untarnished A lonely girl plops a quarter in his cup and passes by Heading toward the docks and open sea Haunting shadows whisper tales of the past And she shivers in her summer dress Creeping in the shadows, he nears his prey And he hesitates as spirits fill the air Parting skies open to the celestial beings Most radiant is the crimson moon He waits in darkness willed to quench his thirst She stands propped at the end of the dock Gazing at this unreal scene of nature As he approaches, she remains dazed Silently, he cups his hand over her mouth And grabs her around the waist with his other hand Muffling her scream, he turns her around Her eyes open wide in surprise “Happy Birthday Sis- I’m back from the War!” He lets go and opens his arms And she hugs her big brother in pure happiness So shines the crimson moon Full of hope and answered prayers.
  14. "Ny-?" Before she could get the rest out, Mynx was hurried to attend the guests. No. It MUST be some misunderstanding...or not? He's here? Why hasn't he come to say hello? It's the LEAST he can do for standing me up TWICE.... Zariah grumbled to herself. A bit upset, Zariah sat down and put her elbows on the table. She concentrated hard on regaining composure and looked around the room for Reverie. She wondered who was going to win the Slam. They were all really good, and the second round wasn't complete yet. She heard a clank from the kitchen and headed to the door, hoping that if Thomas was behind the crash, he was alright....she smiled secretly, because she used to be terribly clumsy. It seemed only recently, with gained self-confidence, that she was more careful.
  15. As Loki finished, Zariah decided to try out her "jazzy" approval snaps... Like clapping but classy... Some others joined in her approval, and she was glad to not embarrass herself. As Loki exited the stage, Zariah got up and meandered through the crowd to see if anyone looked like they needed more to eat or drink. She saw Sweetcherrie had arrived, and was sitting with a couple shadowed figures in the corner. She couldn’t find Mynx, but was still curious to as who that stranger was that had arrived earlier. For a second she thought it could have possibly been Nyyark, but she resolved that it wasn’t since he seemed to have disappeared from the face of the planet. Crow had been away a lot too. She wondered if Nyyark even thought of her; it had been several months and she had pretty much given up on a friendship with him. She shook her head back to reality, and began to head toward that corner. Suddenly, in a flash, almost as fast as the wind, a shadowy figure darted away before she could see any details.
  16. The form reminds me a little of Edgar Allan Poe. I like this a lot. My favorite line

  18. During all the performances, Zariah sat in the back of the room near the exit. She saw all the Pennites were eating and drinking and having a great time. As her eyes began to glaze over for a mini-nap, a peculiar form entered looking dark and wet. I wonder who that is...Mynx is there...maybe she'll introduce me. As Zariah caught a glimpse of the commotion, she stood, and the figure disappeared into the crowd. Frowning, Zariah decided to sit back down and wait to see what Reverie wanted to do next. She resolved, however, to ask Mynx about the stranger.
  19. Long as Claudia had known Julian, she had never been invited to his house. They always met somewhere else to hang out. Once, they made it to his yard and he started acting really funny- making up reasons that they couldn’t go inside. Last summer, she followed him home once, and watched him sneak into the house through the back door. She crawled behind a bush and made her way to a window. What she saw when she looked in nearly made her choke on the dum-dum in her mouth. The window she had been looking through was through the laundry room down a hallway. Inside, the house looked like it was hit by a hurricane. There was mess everywhere. She saw Julian walk down the hallway from the stairway and heard a man’s voice boom, nearly shaking the structure of the building. Julian turned beet red and scurried toward the laundry room to hide. She moved quickly from the window so he wouldn’t see her. For the first time in her life, she was terrified to be alone. The man’s voice grew louder, as he made his way toward Julian. She peeked ever so carefully inside, and saw him being beaten severely by a huge man looking shabby and drunk. She slipped back to the other side of the bush and ran as fast as she could home, without looking back. From that day forward, she never pressured Julian to hang out at his house, and she never mentioned what she saw to save Julian his pride. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Tim was chubby. Chubby and proud of it. With an overweight and protective mother, he was constantly fed. For Tim’s mother love was food. So, naturally, he just ate a lot. He’d always get two lunches in the lunch line. It began when he was in 5th grade. He went through the line and asked the lady for two trays of stuff. She refused to give him two lunches…even though he had the money to pay for it. So Tim would go through the line once in the front of the line and again at the end. For a while it worked, but the lady caught on. She was just a control freak, if anything, and he was persistent. Every single day at lunch, he’s go through once at the beginning and again at the end, until she decided to refuse to serve him all together. Tim wasn’t one to complain, so he only had one lunch. Over the next few months, he began to lose weight. His mom was concerned because her 200 lb baby boy was a “skinny” 160. She asked him if he was eating. He said he had a lunch everyday, but he was always hungry. She asked him why he only ate one serving when she gave him enough for two. And he explained about the lunch lady. Well this Momma had a few words to share with the lunch lady. The next day, Tim was sitting with Julian and Claudia at the lunch table and in a storming rage; Tim’s mom burst into the cafeteria and made her way to the lunch line. She said some harsh things- quite inappropriate for 5th graders to witness and stormed out toward the principal’s office. No one knows what happened to that lunch lady after that, but she wasn’t there the next day or any afterward. And Tim could get as many trays and servings he wanted for lunch the first time he went through the line. No one messed with Tim, sadly, because they were terrified of his mother. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
