  1. Figure one way to stimulate activity is to be active. Not my best, but as my first in several years - not my worst either. Had to go back and read "Should I post?" before I clicked!
  2. The Princess gazed down from her ivory balcony And in the garden there was a tiger to see "Why, that is absolutely the pet for me," (She was quite taken with the feline beauty). And so through the garden she did walk The tiger meekly purred and did not balk The gardeners to a man did gawk, Calling warnings about the tiger they did talk. Growing bolder and bolder with every stride The Princess ignored the warnings at her cried And setting out on the tiger, she did ride, Only to come back quite completely inside...
  3. Two giant Guinea Pigs quietly discussed recent events as they dusted and swept out the Peredhil suite. In deference to their duties, they had removed their jackets and rolled their sleeves, but retained vest and fedoras. Nuncio in particular kept stopping to dust his shoes. Of Peredhil or his sons, there was no sign to be seen. Yet.
  4. Not enough mind to be clever, but happy birthday to the both of you!!!
  5. *hugs all, refills the Hug Bin™, plops into a chair. A small light drifts up and forms the mystic runes AFK above his head*
  6. I like. Isn't "WOMB" the sound an elephant makes when it farts in a cave?
  7. You've a knack for capturing a feeling. You captured one here - very well written.
  8. I like the strong statements, and the paired lines thematically. Content-wise, it resonates with feelings I know well, unfortunately. So... *hug* take that!
  9. I grew in your twilight sun Envious of the glorious spring you'd lived, Thirsting for my turn at the radiant summer of your life. But my turn was to be the fall and winter of your life. Listening to the wisdoms learned. Sharing the admissions of pain and frustration. Seeing the man instead of the incandescent showtime performances. And I loved you.
  10. I've met and know the man behind Wyvern, and he's worth knowing. I can't imagine that he'll have issues extending life beyond the Pen, or that he'll hesitate to check back in occasionally. Each person who's been active here seems to dread stepping down, but it opens doors for others ready to grow to take up responsibilities, and, not "take their place", but take the needs and find their own manner and voice in meeting them. I've always seen the Elders as the active day-to-day moderators, those who serve unselfishly (there isn't any reward except respect, and sometimes not that. Ancient means that you can't devote a minimum amount to the Pen, and you love enough it enough to take the ego-hit of stepping back and letting another try. I know I struggled with becoming an Ancient, as others have, and now Wyvern The Pen has consistently had leadership that has served, and embodied my vision in action. I'm proud to be a part of this, even as little as I'm able to be in these busy days.
  11. Real Life hijacks us all. On the bright side, some of us have very long memories, and once we love, we don't stop. *hugs*
  12. *Peredhil looks in awe at the wild imaginations of the legendary Snypiuer and turns to the room at large* And THAT, folks, is why he is a Bard of Terra. Good suggestions. I have no clue how to do that stuff either, but it sounds shiny. *moves over and firmly straightens each bone before a vivid flash of blue strobes and a Healing occurs* I, personally, am so pleased you came back home to us.
  13. Quin'... ... I cannot convey how much I resonate to some of the things you say. You have a knack of expressing things I find too big to fit into little words.
  14. Welcome to the Pen! I enjoy your hip-hop style, our resident Almost Dragonic Elder, Wyvern, taught me to enjoy that whole genre of music. It's spelled... Peredhil
  15. Jason has Youtube videos of his songs, and they're worth subscribing to view. =) A "write the lyrics" might be good. I know I've sent several people here, but my life hasn't supported my own presence! Being basically homeless and living off the charity of others can be more time-consuming than you'd think. speaking of which, my hard drive is dying, so if I disappear for a while offline, that's what it is...
  16. hierarchy - Elders and such are just a fancy name for admins/mods. the Guilds happened when there was too much work and not enough time for the existing mods, and as Zoolio said, to provide an incentive. Also as a focus - Guild membership was earned through activity, and let those with limited time to focus on giving feedback to someone who was active and trying to grow, instead of the "let me post this and I'll be back in a year to see if there's been feedback" sort. the Pen needs... a Revival! Loki - set up the tent, hand out the fans and lemon-aide and PREACH at 'em!
  17. *hugs tightly* I wish I could express how proud of you I am at this moment. Not only for doing the right thing over fear, but for writing this so well I felt I was there. You really capture the moment.
  18. wow. you gave words to my Seasonal Affective Disorder. *hugs*
  19. Michael Moore makes documentaries. He picks an agenda and then films with such amazing bias and manipulation that even when I agree with his points, as I have a few of them, I have to hate how he manipulates it.
  20. very well done. I prefer the sung version, it conveys so much more nuance.
  21. Well done, drawing all the elements together for the gran finale.
  22. what an expressive "gut" poem, taking raw emotion and making it a painful cry of beauty.
  23. Pain is always new, no matter how familiar. Eloquent. Welcome to the Pen.
