  1. Ahh, as much as I hate to say such things, this may well be my only message for quite a while. I have no internet access at home, and only limited access at school, and I don't have the time at school needed to read everything on the Pen. A gas line exploded near one of my friend's house and took out a Fiber optics line, disabling all the cable in the area, including my internet access. Needless to say, this sucks. I'm not going to spend the money to pay for a dial-up provider while we wait for the cable to come back on, since I don't know how long it will be down for, but I don't want to pay for a month of internet access and have the cable only be down for a few dyas, ya know? That really wouldn't make a lot of sense, now would it? So, just a warning, it may be a little while before I'm able to be around as "much" as I once was. All the love in the world, Deg.
  2. Sign me up, Vladiator. Love the idea. (By the way, you're an exceptionally fine poet)
  3. The Mighty Maroon Monkey Man steps into the place of the party, and takes a peek around. "Wow, I almost didn't make it on time. I'm glad I found that invitation on that poor corpse..." He hangs his coat up on the coat rack and takes a seat near the fireplace awaiting more guests.
  4. Sometimes I wonder why I let people talk me into this. I'm too big, I can't dance, and I don't look good dressed up. Degenero sighs as he stands outside the entrance to the Fall Ball, building up his courage to enter. In actuality he looks as good as he ever does. Standing there in his new suit, bought just for the occasion, of course. Black on red, black tie, black shoes. His wings tucked carefully away inside of the suit as to not accidentally bump any of the guests. The long white hair slicked back and put into a pony tail over one shoulder. An initiate who's name he cannot recall bumps into him on her way into the ball, jarring him back to reality. I've always hated these things, going back as far as Cerulean's Masquerade. I just feel so out of place, with all the happy people dancing their days away. Degenero grimaces slightly, and braces himself as he opens the door and walks in. The music begins almost instantly after he opens the door, and he frowns completely now. He slowly scans the floor for anyone he knows, seeing Wyvern, Snake, Regel, Wren, and finally settling his eyes on Peredhil, who is just standing around, seemingly lost. Many things could be said to happen to the half-elf often, but being lost would never be one of them. He slowly approaches his mentor and greets him with a gentle "Hello." 5 seconds later, after he's done prying the half-elf's arms from around him, he manages to get a "Hi Deg' " out of him before Peredhil gets swept off into the crowd of people on the floor. Left by himself, Degenero slowly makes his way over to the refreshments table and begins slowly drinking his way though it.
  5. Happy birthday! I love Tralla, and I dunno Seii, but happy birfdays anyway.
  6. Safe is warmth and love. Safe iis not needing someone, but wanting them anyways. Safe is never letting anyone hurt you, no matter how hard they try.
  7. Yeah! Another poet, too. hugs I don't know many who deserve that title more than you do. Good job, mon ami.
  8. To my daughter. She was born today at 1:03 am, at Tawas St. Joseph Hospital in Tawas City, Michigan. Named Samantha Karen Price. I'm still kind of in shock, since I didn't know the mother was even pregnant until last night at about 11. This is a pretty big thing, ya know? she's gonna be living with me, so some of you might even get to know her -A very proud Ken
  9. 1.) More than a few, none that I'd like to talk about. Needless to say, I'm a very altered individual. 2.) I believe that I have someplete and utter control over absolutely nothing. People who know me in real life, and one of those here does though he doesn't come around anymore, would be quick to tell you I'm one of the most submissivle people on the planet. I let other people's decisions run my life, and I always have. Cheers, Deg.
  10. Jokes that don't need a punchline... A black republican walks into a bar....
  11. Jumping from a room up high, A big dark Angel looks Wyvern in the eye. "Who these Scantavia Brothers are, I do not claim to know, but" And with a sidelong glance, off to the far He continues "They stole her from me, Damn them all, I want them to suffer!" Glaring into space, his massive wings unfold, Shimmering black, with glistening stars. "I will not lose her, not to them, Let me accompany you now, I know I don't blend that well, But I may be of some use." With that, the giant black Angel salutes.
  12. Good story, if a bit odd. I like the symbolism. I don't often come here, so this is kinda a special trip. Besides, I like most fo the stuff you write. [Edited, 'cuz Deg's an idiot.]
  13. *nods* I took the fact that some people would be hesitant for those reasons, Alaeha and Ayshela, in the paper I wrote. I guess something like this isn't exactly what the Pen is geared for, but I'm not a member of any other group of sufficient size. So I appologize to anyone who may have been upset, offended, or otherwise negatively affected by this thread. The paper I wrote that contains my finding will be up on the internet within a few days. It was for a Theology class, studying how people from different places, creeds, and cultures would interact with a perfect stranger that wasn't a part of any of those. It was meant to bring out a bit of human nature, but I hadn't taken into account that the Pen is a much more mature place than most. I'd counted on the human's competitive nature taking over. I was wrong. I'm more than willing to be friends with *anyone* who would like to be a friend of mine, as the people who are already my friends will know.
  14. Alrighty, time to come clean. While I was looking for new friends, since one can never have enough, that wasn't the true purpose of this thread. I was mostly trying to see how open the members of the Pen I don't know would be to getting to know me. Now, there are 207 members. I'm friends with, probably, 20. So that leave 187. Out of 187 members that I don't know very well, I had *one* person that I didn't know even try to send me a message. I'm kind of dissapointed with the results, but *shrugs* Thanks to all my friends who posted for reminding me just how many of you there are here. Thanks to Savannah for trying to be friendly, and here's to our budding friendship.
  15. I truthfully don't know what to say, and I'm not left speechless awesome. Where to begin? That was one of the most beautiful things I've ever read. It captures that feeling better than I ever thought possible. So many people could relate to something like this. I actually cried, but that was more from recent events of my own that the poem reminded me of. Formwise, it's a different story. It just seems, odd, but I kind of get the feeling it was meant too. It looks off at first glance, the way the lines are and whatever. It sounds really good when spoken out loud, though, and that's the true test of poetry. Thanks for sharing, this was, once again, beautiful. Nicely done.
  16. Again sort of implies we were friends at one point. I wouldn't say much more than aquaintances ever before, but now's as good a time as any.
  17. Of course I would, though it'd be illegal. I'm a very free person, and I'm very comfortable. Besides, if I was hot enough to go swimming (Which I don't do often outside of pools) I'd be more than happy to take off some clothes.
  18. All you guys are my friends already, I want new ones (Except Valdar, he's just off.)
  19. Okay, first things first. If you already knowe me, don't enter. I'm looking for a new friend. If you don't know me, feel free to enter the contest. Send a biographic paragraph or so to me in a PM. You know nothing about me other than what you can find from looking on the Pen's website. Don't ask anyone you know who knows me, please, it would ruin the equality. I'll open entries until next Friday, September 12th. I'll announce the winner on September 14th, the following Sunday. Thank you, and good luck. Deg
  20. Big dogs, spiders, and being alone. Of course, right now I own a big dog, my house is infested with spiders, and I'm alone...
  21. I left for good a few times, and look how far I got? The closest I've ever been to leaving was after my PC broke...
