Welcome back, Loremaster, in a big way. Hugs and shares a moment of silence.

Peredhil: Chronos grasped her shoulder tightly and pointed to her foot. "At times we need to look away," he murmured. Tearing her gaze away from the mockery of order in the Tapestry of Souls, she looked dully at her foot. Her silver Shears. Her eyes teared slightly and her hair hung lankly around her face. In the blur she noticed a flaw overlaying the scissor blades. Bending, she squinted to see Graeson's translucent thread sprawling in untidy coils. Beside her she felt Chronos wolfish smile. "It is Time,"he said simply, and stepped back to let her work. Quickly yet smoothly she coiled the thread, feeling the opportunities of a thousand lives slip between her fingers. Grasping the shears, she hesitated as she Searched deeply the Patterns gone awry. Chronos stepped up behind her and supported her with a gently clasp around the waist. "All beginning worthwhile are birthed in blood and pain," He coaxed gently, the weight of knowledge laden in his voice. She trembled with the anticipation, but felt the love of eternity in his reassuring touch. Pinching the base of the Black Thread, where it already had begun to twine about the Temae strand, she scissored the blades. Finely she cut, so closely that she clipped the skin from finger and thumb. Her smokey blood spread like the mist of dreams absorbing into the Black Thread and etching it like acid. She quickly wove the Tapestry together in the wake of the Black Thread's disintegration until a puckered seam was all that remained in the Tapestry to mark the passage of Time's Nightmare. A puckered seam and a new slender thread, once translucent with Time, already enfused with the blood of Dreams, and now fused irrevocably with the darkness cored thread of Yui Temae. As she released Temae, Aegon's thread sprung like steel to the magnet to close the final gap. Together they embraced the new thread that ended, yet began between them. She slumped into his grasp, and suffered him to carry her to her chair. She looked ancient hag until Time's touch lifted and her ageless beauty returned. "We've done what we must to stop the madness. Is it enough?" His voice grated roughly; Time gives its strength to Dreams not lightly. "He'll be born with the salmon knowledge, the knowing wisdom, the wise weird. He is ours and theirs, a bridge belonging to all and none. Can even Time tell what we've done?" She smiled slightly and began Weaving again. "We'll have to wait and see what the Tapestry Weaves." With a gentle caress that pained them both for it's passage and finality, he strode from her chamber lest he Dream again... **** Ayden looked at Aegon carrying Graeson and his heart thumped in his throat. Aegon's face was intolerable. Transfigured by wrath, it terrified him and he felt unable to resist. Leading the way rapidly up the tower, he fled to the comfortable horror of the Master and it's known pain rather than face the unknown possibilities that followed him. It struck him with the force of a thousand hammers as he opened the door to the Forbidden. Aegon wore the face of his father, dead in the accident, relived in nightmares. Graeson watched Ayden crumple in the doorway, and let Aegon slide him down his arm to stand alone. The haunting warmth of Aegon's hand ruffling his hair contrasted with the rigid tendons of the other hand clenching bare steel. He wondered briefly as Aegon rushed to leap Ayden at Aegon's ability to be tender at a time like this. Moving forward, he bent to help Ayden. Green eyes fluttered open and locked onto his in terror. He felt himself falling. Or was Ayden flying up? As his hand touched Ayden's face, he felt Adyen's hand touch his. A silent explosion of golden-edged white with a core of darkness rushed to encompass them both. **** "One, we are One," crooned the Master as he loving reached for the final prey. The circle was closed, this was the ONE. He spun with viperish speed as the door crashed open. His Slave lay crumpled in the doorway and a sword-bearing man leapt the body to confront him, only to freeze at the sight of Yui's blood-runed body. The Master, laughing at the blade, moved for this last snack before the feast. Behind him, Yui's eyes went wide in shock as she blurred with mist. "Aegon," she moaned in torment, caught in the crucible of Dream and Time. Batting the Master out of his way with the sword's flat, Aegon rushed to her far side, and knelt to grasp her hand as he still eyed the Master. Psychic and Spells rose to hover ready at his shoulders as he mustered all his weapons. The Master leapt forward. Aegon's sword left a crimson smear of fire in the air as it swept in a vicious arc - over the Master's head. The momentum of the missed swing left him offbalance as he lunged desparately to intercept the Master's strike at the true target - his wife. Master's hand touched Yui's hand as Aegon's hand covered both - a fractional second too late. In the doorway, Graeson screamed. Reality shifted with his unleased power - and finally the Nightmare ended. *** Yui woke lazily and stretched in contentment. She gazed greedily at Aegon's naked body, tracing his powerful lines with hungry eyes. That was all that was hungry, for the Morning Sickness was clenching her stomach again. Slipping from bed, she thought longingly of Aegon's warmth. The ridges of patterned scars puckered slightly against the morning chill as she belted a long robe over her rounding form. Moving to the balcony, she greated the lemony morning sun with an upturned face. Her fingers gently massaged her the still taunt stomach muscles guarding her womb. "Are you aware in there? I had the strangest dream last night, that I was caught in your dream. Sometimes there will be the darkness rising inside me. But you need never fear that, my little tadpole. Daddy and I will always guard you with our love." She sighed in pure joy as Aegon's arms slipped around him. She leaned back into her sunshine man was like a furnace to her touch. His voice rumbled through his chest and she felt as well as heard it. "How's our little man this morning? I had the strangest dream last night." "I also." "He'll be named Graeson." "Yes." The stood silently, comfortably together. It was with a certain sadnessness that Yui felt the baby move and realized although she would share everything with Aegon, this secret feeling was hers alone. As Aegon's hands cupped and pressed, trying to feel the activity from the outside, she covered his hands with hers and whispered defiantly warning to any who would try to part the three of them. "We are One..."

Poetic Justice. The Cast: Laertes: A collegic protective big brother. Aristophanes: A would-be Investigative Reporter, and room-mate of Laertes. Electra: Laertes 14-year-old sister, Junkie of MTV and BET music. Magistrate: A corrupt Judge who plea bargains with prostitutes in private chambers. Baliff: A guard. The Sets: The stage may be divided into three parts, The Street stage left, the Cell stage right, and the Chambers center stage. Suggest use of multiple spot lights, one for each character at least. A lens shift and dimming of the other spots could highlight an Actor speaking in sotto voice to the audience (Indicated by parenthesised dialogue). The Street: A street corner, dimly lit by streetlamp. The Cell: A bare concrete cell, one wall barred with door. The Chambers: Blackly curtained walls, large desk with foldered papers and a few handcuffs, prominant in downstage center is a crimson-covered wide couch. Door on right side, with small hallway attached. Scene 1: Lights up on stage left, The Street. Laertes is pacing in anger. Aristophanes leans on the lightpole and watches his pantherish movements. Laertes: The Magistrate? A scurvey knave! Attacks the weak, awards the brave. Aye I know the wicked one. Why askest thou? Aristophanes: I'm no glib talker, your sister was mistaken for street walker. In our haste to do what is right, we sift the truth from lie. Laertes: If my sister's virtue I would save - the Judge must die. Aristophanes: Representative of order's might... I agree we must bring the fight. Beware tarring all with corruption's brush. You're in such a terrible rush. Attack and its YOU whom Justice's minions will crush. Your loss would make me cry. Laertes: Swiftly hot now courses my ire. Sweet sister! Innocent, she's in lust's spire. He'd dip his baliwick to quench his fire - Avaunt! He will expire. Rushes from stage. Aristophanes: to audience (Young blade thrust straight when wiser head, knows better to feint and parry. I'd better be after to cool him down, his wrath will not tarry. I smell an opportunity here, a chance to make my fortune. Ill's wind that blow no good I hear, sounds notes in every bar tune.) Cut lights Scene 2: The Cell. Lights come up on Electra checking a Swatch. She's dressed in full regalia of the singer Madonna - heavy makeup, pointy corsette, fishnet stockings, and CFMP stilleto heels. During her speech, one hand waves elegantly and dramatically presses to brow. The other cradles her crouch - she occasionally punctuations with pelvic thrusts. Electra: (My plight you see, I'm innocent. I was only waiting for my ride. I'm chaste - most chaste - and with posthaste, these charges be denied. I'm just a gentle groupie of the most uber wicked singer, Madonna; I must find bail! Uber wicked nasty Fate my hopes has dashed, from concert to stinky jail! All money for tickets and backstage passes, showtime commences soon. What must I plea to get me free? Perhaps I can bargain a ticket for release? Are Rock-n-Rollers found in Police?) Cut lights Scene 3: the Chambers. The Magistrate stands facing audience as lights rise. He wears heavy black robes with white t-shirt and polka-dot boxers under. His face should be lightly smeared with cream or lotion to give an oily reflection. Start action with a spray of cologne and self-admiration as if the audience were a mirror. Magistrate: (Malevolent you find me? Now tar your brush and spare no pity! One dimensional not, I chose this life, using my power to reap the city. Only harlots do I use this way, yet some would say I'm wrong! Should I be damned for what I am? Justice with strong prong?) turns to face door, dim his spotlight. Bring up lights on hallway outside door. Baliff stands there with Electra. Opens door, thrust her in. Dim spotlight on hallway, bring up Chamber lights. Dim light on Electra looking around. Magistrate eyes Electra then finishes speech to audience. Magistrate: (A toothsome tart! I'll try her art here in my Chambers warm. On lovely flesh I'll make this quest: my hands to roam and swarm. ) Turns to Electra, bring up her spot to full. Come in my pretty; care for brandy? (this pop tart's even younger than legal bait! I'll have her once or twice I think, or prison is HER fate.) Electra: Oh prithy Sir, o noble judge, how sweet the voice of reason! What must I do to convince you, I'm most desired of pleasin'?! If you'll purchase my ticket, The opening act is Pink. With haste we can make it together; tell me - what do you think? (An oily man, perhaps I can wheedle like my brother. listens intently. bring up faint music offstage. Is that a tune? Madonna sings soon!) Laertes and Aristophanes arrive in hallway. Aristophanes carries a camera. He restrains Laertes through the following as they both listen. Magistrate: (Pink the opening, yet tries to sell? A cheap tactic to try on me. She'll jack her price when dressed for vice?? Not if she longs to be free!) Come sit my dear, and cuddle near, I'm sure we can work this out. You've a serious charge, I've set the bail quite large., I might be inclined to show you mercy, if you can find a way to reemburse me... Electra: Oh absolutely, I can hardly wait - I'm so glad that you agree. You'll not rue your pity, I'll show you a city and a wonderful show! If you like what you see, when you're dancing with me, in the pit below - I'll give you a backstage pass! Magistrate: (Oh what a tart for one so young yet very bold? A backdoor pass, around the world - How can I not agree? My blood enflames, my one-eyed Monk wishes to worship at her shrine. we'll dance alright all through the night - and I get it all for free!) Oh my sweet, my night's complete, I'll take your backdoor pass. Frowns as Electra is straining to hear the music. Are you listening? takes Electra in his arms and they fall struggling on the couch. Her legs stick up waving widely on either side of his body. Those pouty lips glistening! There first, then your - Laertes bursts in the door, followed by Aristophanes with camera flashing. Lights outs. Lights up, Aristophanes stands alone in Chamber. Aristophanes: We came in time, to stop foul deed. Judge came not at all: spilled no seed. Young Electra and brother Laertes even concert made. The Magistrate's in prison - I hear he's the cell block's dolly. And humble me will famous be, reporting of his folly. We hope you've enjoyed this morality play, a story of Poetic Justice. The Almost Dragonic production fees have risen to nearly bust us. So if you'll donate most generously you'll have all our gratitude. At least lend your applause and clap your hands, be gently Polite and not silenty rude. Fade, curtain drops, rises with Aristophanes, Laertes and Electra, who take their bows. When applause begins to die, Baliff leads out the Magistrate. They bow, then entire cast bow together. Curtain closes and house lights come up.

Pats Rune on the head gently. You can do it! You're L33t and W00t, like in the Land of Doubles!!!

Hmmm. Why in the world do I hear echoes of the Moody Blues when I read that. Neat. Thanks for sharing it.

Intense, raw. the denial of caring thanks for sharing.

Peredhil consoles Imposter who cleverly diverted attention away from the fact he'd answered it so clearly. There are bookkeepers but no libraries in the Land of Doubles, which I find to be a trouble There are preeminent Hollywood stars but no galaxies in the Land of Doubles, but you won't need to look through the telescope of Hubble. There are patterns in the Land of Doubles, but no sewing at all There is no spring in the Land of Doubles, but definitely there is fall.

Peredhil ducks in and welcomes most warmly Aldeen. The drinks will be on my tab - he's here as a guest I'd not charge him a geld, at my bequest He'll post his fine works; you'll all soon see why I've invited him hither, sheer talent this guy.

Awwww. So Coote! I wish one of my G'mas was still alive.

Depending on what's inside the person, it's not too fun for me to feel their innards either. One reason I encourage people to love and grow - makes them so much easier to be around...
-
Peredhil enters and sips deeply of the poem Unlike the rest so far, I see a loving and painful tribute to the brave astronauts of the Columbia disaster. A reminder of the Icarus hope that makes hearts beat when they see a bird fly by - and that makes some want to follow. Thank you for your stirring reminder of the spirit that drives the Space Program. -Peredhil
-
Ouch. Since I tend to feel others innards more strongly than my own, I have trouble being judgemental enough to write a poem like this. I can imagine that it's very cathartic though.

snickers I liek it! wait! grrr...

As Wyvern backs up to rush and force the door (again. It'd sounded like such a BARGAIN), Peredhil strode by, lightly touched the door with a murmured thanks, and passed inside with Melba's lunch. Wyvern quickly rushed the door! Only to have it slam in his snout. speech deleted - family site

sweet and tender - good job Kender.

Peredhil started as he felt a psychic slam. Could be so many around here, coming or going. Not Yui-chan. She was a whisper of velvet night across his senses, a shadow more felt than seen in his Ring. Not Ozymandias. His monuments still stood, but the King was not yet seen. Not Valdar or Astralis, although they're rapier thrusts of power poked in to visit now and then. Tzimfemme? Rydia? Rosemarie? Befuddled as he was, this didn't have the distinctive twist of any of them. Minta was a fire engine of nether energy's innocence, leaving chaos eddies where ever she went. The feel was raw power, brutal in its subtle overtones, arrogant in its power. He recalls the Planeswalkers of his 23rd incarnation and sighed. Zadown. Please don't let someone have messed with Zadown. His immense power graces the Pen with its rare stories and underpinned certain contructs. Peredhil set off to investigate. The Shadow dance with the Bird continued apace. The Bird dodged desparately with consumate grace. The Shadow was limited by sources of light and darkness interlaced, straining against the physical impossiblities, hungering... The Bird flailed unable to unfurl, cramped in the confines of forgetten relics and antiques. The room remained sealed in concrete stone and concrete spirits and concrete powers balanced in check. "Hey Lil Rune," Guido greeted the tiny demoness. "Hi Guido," Rune looked up and batted her eyes shyly, "New suit?" Guildo adjusted his wide lapel carefully. "Youse like? Da Boss t'ot I was wearin' hole in da joints of da old one." "it's bootiful," she assured him gravely. "I'm lookin for Per'dil cause he's lookin' for the Bird but he was a bird then he coughed smoke and he put his hand under my foot but I moved it and we need to find a room." Guido blinked. "Da Boss went ta check on sumthin Hon'. Youse need some muscle for backup?" he looked hopefully. "NO!" said Josh, desparate to assert some type of control over HIS quest. The idea of a 6'7" Guinea Pig in a black zoot suit with an ash grey fedora and obvious weapon bulges did NOT suit his idea of a proper quest. "Youse loss," shrugged Guido with a ripple of lightly fatted muscle. "Onna da boys, El' or 'Dan might know where da Boss went. I don't. Wait, 'Dan's still at da old place, wit' his paint thinner." Guido shuddered slightly at the thought of Peredhil's son Elladan. They'd all moved just in time. When Elladan found out they'd moved, he hoped he'd have a sense of humor about it. The Questing Pair continued looking...

oh! oh! I know! I know! Hanna is the professional side of the house, the steely-eyed Administrator that hosts lotsa stuff. She wouldn't abuse her powers like that. Rune will have to wait until she's an Initiate to read this. Although I'll cut-n-paste it to her so she'll know how wonderful she is. -P

Snickers. I get these nifty ideas for a story, then they end up writing themselves the direction they want to go. Half of my stuff is unprintable.
