  1. could i offer some geld as a bribe? im getting tired of dying so early in the game
  2. "It doesn't make too much of a difference that he videotaped his testimony, if he were alive today I'm sure he could just as easily say the same things on the stand in front of us, no matter what his intentions" OOC: Self-Defense calls for Giles Jordan (B. A. Peterson)
  3. eh, leave it, maybe he was writing for the benifit of the group, and being blind doesnt keep you from writing, im sure there are some blind people who write better than i do
  4. uh, do i remember reading that our foreman was blind? was that a metaphor i didn't understand or can he physically not see?? i guess, if thats the case, he wouldn't have much use for notes
  5. "Wait a minute," Johnathan found himself shouting, "this isn't how it's done, is it? we haven't heard any witnesses or seen any evidence yet, and you all are already deciding?? We're supposed to be impartial about this till we've heard everything right?? I don't think it's fair to either side to start making assumptions now" Johnathan realized that he had some how ended up standing up and walking to the front of the table... he'd spent too much time leading board meetings. Slightly embarrassed he headed back to seat, but not before adding "don't even get me started on changing the government, this is supposed to be a trial about guilt and innocence, we're not world changers"
  6. Johnathan Deere, being the succesful business man he was, had already summed up his fellow jurors in the quick and casual manner that had helped him make his millions. He was positive he could get 10 out of the twelve to buy a tractor if he wanted to. but now was not a time for tractors, it was a time of decision. "guilty" or "not guilty"? he sincerely doubted he could ever call the Tobacco Industry "innocent", but that's not the same thing as "not guilty", at least not in the eyes of a court of law. but what about his eyes? his eyes had seen his own corporation being sued by small families purely out of greed, but he'd also seen family tragedy. if there was a guilty party, his eyes had not show them to him... yet
  7. be ...something there to remind me
  8. well, it was just my guess that the first was probably written by Red Envelope because it includes his name, and that might be reason enough to suspect that it isnt him, excpt i suspected that he suspected for us to suspect that, so i suspect it IS him he seems a likely suspect

  12. The good word tells me that I should strive to act as the Lamb The good word tells me that the Lamb loved all mankind The good word tells me that the Lamb despised the sins of wicked men And so I strive to love the good within all men and forever maintain sin as my foe And yet you are surprised… You are surprised that I choose to sing your name with praise when I rejoice in the good that you have so readily surrendered your soul to You are surprised that I choose not to be blind to your vices, but realize them as my own You are surprised that I choose to love you not merely despite your failings, but because of them and your unwillingness to surrender to them You are surprised when I say how greatly I love you But that is no fault of your own Like all men, that which I desire most is to become that which I am not I am a man of words I am not a man of action There are many ways I could show you how greatly I love you, but you will never know them Forgive me
  13. this is not the kind of pome I like to read, but thats a reflection on the fact that my entire family past and present have all been sailors and not a reflection on the poem itself. the poem itself I really enjoyed and I would hesitantly disagree with Wyvern on the use of the word "literally" because I think it allows the use of a cliche line in an original way, and I love using cliche lines in orignal ways... but Wyvern has been doing this much longer than I have and he also happens to be an elder so it's understandable if you side with him
  14. hmmmm, sounds like fun..... also sounds like work, maybe i'll just watch
