  1. Ok, these three are a joint effort between myself and Peredhil, (Will admit openly that he did most of the work. I just reformatted mostly, but he PMed them to me and wanted me to post them)
  2. Finally gotten around to hauling this out of my pocket. I wrote this a few nights ago while spending the night at a friend's house. They fell asleep before I was ready to go to bed, so unfortunately I was without sleeping arrangements. I wrote this while bored, purely in fun. Down to Sleep Now they lay them down to sleep.. but I'm too cold and tired. Can't keep on playing games until they wake, but they've the blankets. I won't take their pillows either, that'd be unkind. But still, I doubt they'd grudge some paper. Ink's ok, as well. I've got to pee... I'm back. Still bored with naught to do but sit and think, or lay and try to sleep. And fail -- I've tried. Can you sleep pillowless and cold? Nor I. Ahh, heck. I'm tiring of this "song" that's gone on, on, for far too long. If they should die before they wake, their beds are mine. Their heat I'll take.

Hmm... I'm not sure what the purpose of the almost-rhyme on the last line of each stanza is exactly. It detracts more for me than it adds... and the probably unintentional rhyme of sought in the second and not in the fourth seems out of place. I like the poem. The first lines and the last stanza are remarkably well done, especially. The first line of the second stanza seems a bit rough in the rhythm though. And you could probably omit the "and" beginning the second line of stanza three, with little-no loss and a smoother rhythm. A little rough around the edges, which is understandable for an experimental form, so I think it's quite well done.
  4. Having obtained permission from the Blue Mage in an AIM conversation...
  5. And one of my favorite scarecrow imitators ever:
  6. Crud... had intended for only those who had accepted nominations to be open game. But I guess since Salinye's disappeared for a time, and she probably wouldn't mind, we can let that one pass. But any other results should probably be based on those who've accepted. Read the "Let's try this again" thread I linked to when I started this thread. The list of nominees and accepted nominations is at the bottom of the top post.
  7. Another one that I've had brewing-ish for a while and just got approval for. Here's our favorite ancient polite elder!
  8. Please, just bear in mind that this one is just the character of Gwaihir, and not of the person behind him.
  9. Well, I have to respect the programmer for that much, at least. "I took the road less traveled by" or however that goes. (I hate almost any poem that everyone and their dog's pet fleas knows)
  10. I prefer to think of the lesson in this as "Boycott Internet Explorer and Outlook Express." That's a good lesson to learn. But welcome back the the Pointy One! *Hugs*
  11. Waaaaa. *Jealousness* Oh well. While you're off doing that, I can do something important. Like sleeping. Or something. ;P
  12. Blood? Sweet! Morbid, yet tasty (thicker than water too) I love the stuff! Except not really. I like the haiku though, for the amusement factor.
  13. Sweet! He looks like me except he's manlier than I can ever hope to be. And his hair's shorter. And he has tattoos. And I would never be caught dead in those pants. No, I don't run at all quickly. Or play guitar. So I guess the only thing I have in common with him is blonde hair. Still quite cool looking.
  14. *POUNCE* *Big Hugs* Happy Birthday to everyone's favorite funny looking pseudo-egyptian.
  15. Just popping in to say I think this one would be a lot of fun, if we can get security sufficient to meet peoples' needs. For myself, I'll be setting up my "spare" account once I know that the event will take place.
  16. Yay! It's the best unbirthday celebration I've had since my birthday! *Hugs Everyone*
  17. Yeah, that might well be it. The camera could easily account for the sort of distorted look. Sorry, didn't even think about that. Kind of a dumb mistake, with the spiral binding right there.
  18. Seems very... indoors... for a barbeque. Or am I just confused? Quite well drawn, though the perspective seems a bit odd. Narrows a bit much, I think, at the opposite end of the hall. But then, I'm not really a visual artist, so I couldn't say. I just sing and write.
  19. Would be nice. I'd been hoping that someone would step forward and write one or two up, since there had been a number of nominations. So if anyone can spare some time to throw one or two together and try to get this thing rolling again, it would be much appreciated.
  20. Just dug this one up on a whim, and figured that people might benefit from seeing this one again. I loved it, myself.
  21. I admit to outright insanity on a regular basis. It's part of why I have no hesitation about reading the parts of the villains in my drama class.
  22. Might have something to do with the fact that (speaking from my observations) poets tend to be drug abusers more often than writers -- if for no reason other than the fact that writers are expected to form coherent sentences. Also tend to be less angsty. *Hides behind Gyrfalcon's auditors*
  23. Konnichiwa! Glad to have you back.
  24. Hmm... Time to toss out a couple more nominations, I think. I'll nominate Melba (unsure as to who among the eldership is responsible for her) I reiterate my nomination of Mr. Bunny since I didn't add him to the list earlier. My bad. And the original LoreMaster *Fake Significant Look at Gwai*. Ozymandias.
