The Pen is Mightier than the Sword

Sausage Poems

Recommended Posts

Now dry once more, Panther walks through the portal from the beach to the darkness of the campfire ring. In tow, he has brought with him more roasting sticks a folding chair and a small table. Setting up the table outside the ring and sitting down on the chair, Panther pulls out a piece of card and a felt pen and begins to write. Seconds later, he's posting his newly made sign that reads: Make yourself something to roast on the fire!

Sitting back in his chair, enjoying the darkness and the fire, Panther waits for people to pour in...

(OOC: The goal of this activity is that each word has to start with the last letter of the previous word, as well as the last letter of the poem has to be the same as the first letter. The theme is food for this one! Each poem has to refer to food one way or another, but other than that, there are no rule for structure, meter, rhyme or rythm.

10 geld for each poem, and you can bring as much food as you would like to roast over the campfire.)

Example: (produced cooperatively by myself and Sweetcherrie)

Ya awesome evil leaves,

stalk kings savagely

yearn nevermore.

Endless songs sang.

Godlike equivalence,

everlasting grace.

Even now winter radiates

solemn nothingness.

Spreads sorrow while eaten,

nevertheless satisfaction.

Naught tastes so original,

like evangelic celery.

Sweetcherrie looks at the fire and at the food in her hands, shakes her head, and eats them without roasting....

endless sugar-red dawn

now winter runs, summer renders

strawberries; sweet, tender, reddish heaven

nigh holy yearnings

submitting godliness shine

Tanny smiles, obseriving the food. From somewhere in her mind, verses come:

Mulled delicacy,

yellowish honey,

yummy yet tasteless

shimmering gold.

Dill, lemon,

nutmeg, garlic...

cooks sprinkling

golden necessities.

Steamed dandelions,

sprouts, spinach...

home-made effort

tempting gents.

Served, done -

envisioned dream.

Foreign Seafood

------------------------

Everlasting goings

sing gangs so orient,

tieing good defaultings

so ornate ending gormets.

Seafood domineering

going gallery,

yearns so open nearing

go openly you'll live.

(that was harder then I thought)

Childhood

------------

Raspberries, sweet treat.

Tempting good days,

so old, dead, done!

Early yearning:

growing great turnips,

steaming green nuts,

spicing goose.

Envied dinners...

special lentils soup,

potatoes salted,

dates stolen -

never roughly.

Yet, tuna and duck kebabs

seemed dear...

Eating celery in heat

the Panther raises paw,

wasn't watching scaly feet

that guided greedy claw.

Working hand raises fruit

to eat a dripping red.

Doesn't make it to the mouth,

hits scaly claw instead.

Dreading rain of limbs

she drops all fruit and green.

Nutmeg she defends

still loses golden sheen.

No grapes remain, no bagels left,

the cookies disappear.

Rear-end reveals a scaly tail,

leaves little for Gwaihir.

Foreign seafood, special treat,

the vampire sits to lunch.

He jumps up when the scaly claws

scoop fishes by the bunch.

Raspberries and steaming nuts,

soup of lentils, goose and duck.

Kept and guarded, stolen still,

lucky lizard laughs in yucks.

Wyvern turns to angered shouts,

still winks a beady eye.

Enters foods into a pot:

the latest Quincunx pie!

;-)

Edit: to correct a few faults in the required scheme. (letter scheme, other schemes don't apply) ;-)
