  1. Kerri follows Albert, also hoping to make peace with Zach. I still think that actor is the guilty one, even if Albert doesn't think so any more. They get to the others, and reaffirm their support for Zach. They make some small talk. Then Albert says, "Hey, where did Timmy go?" "Oh no!" say the twins together. "Where could he have gone?" adds Kerri. "We'd better go find him." says Terri. OOC: Just a quick tally of the votes so far. Ozy: 1 (Katz) Celes: 4 (Tanny, Deg, Jameez, Ozy) Deg: 3 (Nave, Elwen, Celes) Eyremon: 1 (Solivagus) Solivagus: 1 (Eyremon) Shinkiro: 1 (Dean) Null: 3 (Gnarlitch, Foolish, Shinkiro)
  2. Kerri sighs. "Timmy, Zach is acting strange, but you've known him for a long time, ever since I started dating him a couple of years ago. Don't be so scared." Looking longingly at Zach, Kerri instead turns her attention to Albert. She would have married Zach, but Terri seemed to love him just as much. In the absence of two Zachs, she would have to find someone else. Albert was smart and str... well, smart. He would stand up for himself and her. And he did have that cute look. Kerri grabs his hand. "Let's all go get something to eat."
  3. Kerri puts her arms around Albert from behind. "I'm tired of thinking. Whatever you say, Al-honey." Closing her eyes and resting her head on his shoulders, Kerri gets a dreamy look on her face. OOC: I'm hereby making Kerri's vote = Alberts this round. (Which is no change unless Gnarlitch posts a change, but it doesn't look likely). If he changes his vote to Celes then there's little chance of her living anyway, and if he keeps it as Ozy then there's a chance Nave changes his vote too, and I won't be able to check in the next little while to find out. Plus it's the IC thing to do.
  4. Dream as originally told by Jareena Faye. (She gave me permission to make it into a story, so here goes...) Jamie woke up early that morning, since the sun shone directly into her eyes. Frustrated that on her last summer vacation before graduation she had not yet been able to sleep in, Jamie rolled over, but the room was too bright and the obsessively cheerful chirping of birds outside the window made her unable to ignore the light and drift off. Jamie's parents had rented a cabin in a fairly secluded spot by a lake. They had thought it was a great idea, and it had been fairly cheap. None of them had figured out what made the spot so undesirable except that no one else seemed to want it, which meant no one else was around, which meant that Jamie wished she didn't have to be there. And on top of that she couldn't sleep, so she was getting irritable. Well, may as well get up. Jamie pulled on her slippers and trotted downstairs. Her parents were still sleeping, which was annoying, but she was quiet and let them sleep. She ate a quick breakfast and wandered outside. There were five cabins in a semicircle, all overlooking a lake. It was a little green, but she didn't mind that. It sparkled and she sat for a while looking at it, not really feeling like going for a swim yet. Instead she decided to explore the area. She wandered around the circle looking at the cabins from all around, noticing the dead patches of grass where there had probably once been kiddie swimming pools or some such. One cabin looked particularily interesting, being much older than the others and a lot more rundown. It looked more expensive, too, so it didn't make sense that the owners would neglect it like that. Losing interest, Jamie decided to go for a hike in the hills behind the cabins. She found a mini forest and even an old tree fort, but leaves were everywhere and it wasn't much fun sitting in it alone. Sighing she headed back to grab some lunch, wondering what to do for the rest of the day. Maybe she'd take the canoe out for a while. When she got back to their cabin, she ate some lunch, wondering where her parents had gone until she saw the note they'd left saying that they had gone canoeing. Figures, thought Jamie, wondering when they'd be back. She wandered around the beach area for a little while again before heading back to the large old cabin. She tried to see through the windows but only succeeded in tallying the different types of curtains and blinds hanging in all the rooms. Finally she tried the door, expecting it to be locked, but it opened. (to be continued)
  5. Ack! Albert is disappointed, and Albert knows that strange language.... I can't let him be disappointed in me, what a tragedy to have no boyfriend.... "I suspect her because she was talking to him," mutters Kerri to Albert, "but I do still suspect him." Glaring at the actor, Kerri says to him, "You don't fool me, sir. You do a very poor job of acting innocent." OOC: Like a good dumb blonde I'm being indecisive! Changing my vote back to Ozymandius, and I hope that's the last time tonight.
  6. Picked randomly: Hedge maze with Eye of a Newt. And I'm going to bring back an old favourite of mine for this one (never mind that she was eaten ). Don't worry if you don't know her background, anyone, I'm just trying to put this in some context for those who do and then I don't intend to make any more references to it. IC: Inbi kicked the monster and his head rolled off. Two ninja ran in black and red circles around her and she tried desperately to aid the one she knew. A monster stabbed her but she jumped away and... something was poking her. Inbi sat up groggily. She felt like she'd been asleep for a long time, but she was still very tired. And she had been dreaming of the old days again. She ought to know those days were gone. Shaking her head, she finally noticed what it was that had woken her up. While she slept, a hedge had grown up around her. Not too long ago she would have woken up instantly upon any change in her surroundings. Inbi knew that she was getting complacent and really should hone her skills again, but it had been a long time since she'd needed to steal her own food or even fight anyone. But these hedges were nothing normal, to have grown this tall in a night. Inbi Infusco stood to her full height and they were a few good feet taller than she. Inbi actually smiled. Oh, to have an adventure again! She doubted she was ready for it, but life never gave you any warning. Grabbing her pack, she started to sling it over her shoulder - and noticed that it was uncharacteristically light. The young woman sets her bag back down on the rough dirt in front of her and kneels, opening up the sack and discovering some sort of fine sand packed into it. The little specks glisten in the light and Inbi looks closer to find that her bag has actually been filled with tiny little eyes. She closes it in alarm. All her food was gone, and her two daggers were missing, nothing but a bag of miniscule eyes. Careful not to drop any - who knew whether they could still see - Inbi puts the bag on her back and starts to follow the hedge, which goes in a straight line on either side of her for about ten paces and then seems to turn. Not having any real plan, she goes the way she was facing when she woke up, and when she turns and walk another few steps she steps out into the open. Looking around her then to see how far the hegde went, she was disappointed to find that she could not see the end of it, it went on far enough in either direction that it would take her hours at least to get to the other end. It was just one long fence made of hegde, with the opening at her back. Forward, the landscape was exactly as it had always been. Behind, a hedge set up to block the way. Obviously nothing of interest was going to happen by forgetting about it and going away. So, Inbi Infusco turned right back around again and headed into the hedges. It didn't take long to figure out that they were set up in some sort of maze and that she would not solve it by wandering aimlessly. So she found her way back to the entrance or exit, not quite sure which, and began to systematically drop the eyes from her bag. One every so often, nestled at the base of the hedge to the right. She would look for them after every turn to make sure she hadn't doubled back. Whistling, Inbi spent the next little while getting herself thoroughly entangled in the maze.
  7. OK. Thread still open but I'm going to request that Canid and DragonQueen meet up now. And then because three just seems like so few people, I'm going to add my own character too so Tanuchan has someone to meet before putting everyone together. After supper I'll make a post.
  8. Kerri and Albert do some touring, but Timmy catches up with them very quickly and as a consequence they get a very in-depth tour of the facilities, Timmy dragging them along and Albert getting into the whole thing, taking pictures and everything. They return to the main area and hear the actor and the lady scientist arguing in German. "Gee, maybe that scientist is evil after all. She's talking to Morris Pavlov and they're talking in another language. We'd better string them both up or we'll never be safe again!" OOC: What the hey, I'll switch to Lady Celes for now. I should note, Vahktang, that you've tallied 2 votes for Ozy but I think Gnarlitch was trying to indicate a vote too.
  9. Ack!!! (or Dack?) Edit: You could probably convince someone that the computer knows where you're looking and modifies the sound accordingly. Hehe, oh to be evil...
  10. Kerri looks at Albert with a new respect for him after he mentions the theatre. I thought it would take weeks just for him to hold hands, the nerdy types are usually like that. Then Zach walks up and she forgets about Albert completely - until Zach rushes off after Terri. Well I never! Kerri puts her hand on Albert's shoulder. "Of course he's a mutant, haven't you noticed the way he walks? Even if I'm wrong, and I don't remember the last time I was wrong, he is definitely guilty of something. He looks kind of sick. Probably with guilt." "That is way cool! We've probably got two or three mutants around here!" exclaims Albert. Timmy begins to sing. "Mutants, mutants, lots and lots of mutants!" "That's a great song, Timmy!" Kerri pats her brother's shoulder and smiles at him. "You should sing it to Terri." Timmy hops away to find his other sister, and Kerri and Albert stroll toward the theatre.
  11. "Timmy's doing fine," Kerri states while Timmy dances around them singing about mutants. "If you want to find mutants, Timmy," Kerri stage-whispers to the boy, "look at what that man over there was eating!" And look at what Zach had his arms around. Had he no sense of style? Anyone could tell she was much cuter than Terri ever was. Added to the brown and white skirt, the darling white top she'd picked out, the incredible knee-high white socks... the outfit was perfection itself! Oh well. It seemed to be doing the trick with Albert, and even though he was nerdy, he was a cute-nerdy, and he was much better than no boyfriend at all. OOC: a vote for Ozymandius - Morris Pavlov
  12. When Timmy, who isn't very scared after all, wanders off, Kerri looks at Terri. "I'm scared." "Me too." "What could have killed them?" "I don't know." They exchange a look and Terri turns to Zach. Well.... He's not as cute as Zach, but he is cute.... Kerri goes to Albert. "How you holding up?"
  13. Loved it, Gnarlitch. Immersive. I did want to point out a line or two near the beginning where you're using asterisks for actions. They felt out of place. The rest was good! I'm very glad you posted the second part. It'll be good to see you accepted when Wyvern gets the time.
  14. Tanny - yours is good. Much better than mine, which was four notches below Pen-quality writing I like the idea too. You should begin, though. And maybe in the conservatory?
  15. Mimsy! 1) A Nonsense Word - Shkoogle 2) Adjective - droopy 3) Plural Noun - fuzzles 4) A Verb ending in "ing" - yodelling 5) Adjective - fine-tuned 6) Plural Noun - spaghetti noodles 7) Verb - swoop A Location - the tropics of Saskatchewan 9) Name of a Pen Member - Yui Chan 10) A style or font of writing - Comic sans 11) Plural Noun - giraffes 12) Something Red - Santa Claus 13) Something White - Easter Bunny 14) A Color - neon fucshia 15) Adjective - jumpy 16) A State of Mind - chaotic evil (if that doesn't fit, chaotic alone is fine) 17) A Rank - Troubadour 18) Plural Noun - moons 19) Adverb - almost 20) A Proverb - what the hey, we'll go with "Yea, though I walk in the valley of the shadow of death..." Edit: Oh, I've gotten proverbs mixed up with psalms again.... Um...if it's not too late... 20) A Proverb - "Life is not all beer and skittles."
  16. Everything settled and Timmy with all his various animals in known locations on his body (they couldn't be left behind to dirty up the seats!), the four of them finally pile out of the car. "Wow!" says Kerri, looking at nothing very exciting. She keeps looking upward as she walks and trips over a rock, tearing her pink nylons and bloodying a knee. Kerri promptly starts crying and Terri is by her side in an instant comforting her. "We've only just gotten here and my outfit is already ruined!" "It's all right, you look fine, the blood compliments the fluffy red top." Choking back a sob, Kerri looks carefully. "You think so? You know what, you're kind of right. I'll still have to change when we find a bathroom." Timmy laughs as he strokes Bubba and Zach looks sort of amusedly at the two of them. "Alright, if you're not hurt, let's go." He opens up the trunk and each of them lug out a suitcase, Kerri's and Terri's each twice the size of either of the others. Lots of clothes packed for however long they were there. OOC: These names are confusing for even me! I'm glad we went with K & T or I'd never remember which I was. I'm just gonna add an apology here for everyone else, because I'm sure it's worse for you.
  17. Once there was a king and a queen and their three children. One day an evil dragon pestered the eldest daughter, but a knight came and saved her and became her husband. And they all lived happily ever after, except the dragon, who was dead. OOC: Somehow I think I cheated.
  18. Kerri screams before even looking at her feet. "I told you not to bring that icky snake!!" She realized afterward that saying this was a mistake, since Terri would wonder why only the snake had been banned from coming. But if Terri was allowed to bring Zachary - the man Kerri had been going to marry before Terri stole him - then Timmy could bring the frog for once. It would disturb Terrri and Zach. But the snake... the long, slimy, terrible snake! That she could not put up with even for the sake of distracting her sister. Barely managing to keep on the road while frantically trying to find Martin, complete with slapping her legs and back all over just in case, Kerri finally determines that he's not at the front of the vehicle. Sighing, she settles down enough to hear the screaming going on at the back.
  19. Just in places where you say "Tania's boyfriend" and stuff, it's still the old names. Here, I'll fix it: Katzaniel as Kerri, the dumb blond Tanuchan as Terri, Kerri's sister, also dumb, also blond Degenero Angelus as Zachary Evans, average teenage high school popular kid. Terri's boyfriend, formerly Kerri's boyfriend. Or something like that. Nave as Timmy, Kerri's & Terri's 6 year old brother Elwen as Aidan Laran the teen angst punk Lady Celes Crusader as the Greta Von Richter German Scientist Gnarlitch as Albert E. Milhouse, teenage science nerd. Solivagus as the Heinrich cruel and angry security guard Eyremon as Ed Smith, engineer Dean the Adequete as Dirk Danger World weary traveler and all around go-getter. Ozymandias the Elder as Morris Pavlov, creepy actor cameo AND star! I love that our names show up so many times. Hehe. We're important. *blushes and giggles* Edit: fixed Ozy's name, too.
  20. He saw Vahktang? The first night? Then how did he know it was Elwen after the first night of Seeing? Or are those just not in order? Deg baned himself night #1, then that makes sense that Ozy went after him when he knew that Wil would be baned. Sorry Eyremon, but I doubt he thought you were really the baner. Even if he did he would have known that you might bane yourself, or that the real baner might bane you that night. So he would go after someone else, and a suspected baner would be perfect. Elwen: You played great. The only reason I voted for you was Gnarlitch's clues. I thought he might be a wolf, but what a bold move to pretend to be the seer and to have seen a wolf on night #1. Much too early in the game for that sort of gamble.
  21. PS. Who'd have thought that out of 3 female players, 1 was the wolf and the other two were the only ones alive at the end?
  22. Wow. Impressive ending. A few things I'd like to know: Tanuchan: How would you have ended it if the wolves had won? Would Holmes have lived? Gnarlitch: Which people did you See? Why did your very first post say "man and woman" - was that because the odds of two women were so low? Did you later confirm it like I guessed? Deg: Who did you bane the first night? The other nights? Ozy: Why did you choose to kill Eyremon that last night? Did you guess that if I had stayed alive that would have confirmed my suspicions of your guilt and voted for you, and this was a desperate attempt to throw off my logic? I am so glad I was right about it being Marcus. I mean, how tragic for her to finally be able to see his guilt if he were actually innocent! It was tragic enough for my tastes as it was... Good game everyone. Very much looking forward to the next. Next time I'll have 3 people for whom I cannot easily vote...
  23. Katharine slumps to the ground, weary of the world and no longer bothering to hold herself up. The words supposedly spoken by Jesus on the cross come to her: "Oh God, why have you forsaken me?" God has not forsaken me, she tells herself firmly. He has left me all my faculties and I must use what clues He has given me to get us all out of this mess. "Take no solace in logic, for it was not that that killed our host; but take to it still, for it is the sole foundation to any rational argument and the base on which justice will be resolved." That was what the philosopher had told them all earlier. He had spoken the most truth of any of them. Katharine looks at Ms. Christie, who is waiting expectantly. This woman asks me to contemplate the possibility that my own son has been guilty of all these murders. The very thing I have been avoiding thinking about, and it has come down to that. Consider it I must, or it will be my fault if we all die. "I am the super scary assasain who kills people in the night. Run run quick or I will get you. Oh ya I also eat kittens. Now I am truly evil. Oh you are all doomed." The question that concerns me the most is that of why the killer would choose to remove Mr. Cooper, and Marcus did not answer me. Ms. Christie offers a credible explanation, though. Logically, if Marcus could have done it, he might want to keep me alive as long as possible. Perhaps he does not like to kill women, and that is why Ms. Christie is also alive. Or, maybe Ms. Christie wanted to be able to accuse Marcus of keeping me alive... "Remember one thing. This will not end with me." It seemed so long ago when Mr. Cooper said that, one of the very first days. Oh how right he had been. Katharine closes her eyes. "'M sorry, Mother. It's just...it's just the whole thing's got me in a state too, it has. Murder! Here in our own village, and it was one of our friends, no less! It's diabolical! ... I promise you both I shall excercise the better judgement I was taught from here on." Marcus has been acting strangely these last few days. He claimed it was the deaths that did it, but when his father died, Marcus grew solemn and silent. He didn't speak to me or his friends for almost a month. Why then is he louder and suddenly an aggressive man? Is he feeling guilty? Scared? He was acting this way after the very first murder, so it was not fear of dying. Perhaps he was afraid of being caught. "Unless, I suppose, you have a vampire friend who can back the claims of Mr. Wil's 'second sight' on this werewolf. Or wait!! Maybe those friendly goblins, who live under the staircase, what about them? ... Any man worth his salt will break you in two at the first opportunity, sir, so I suggest you stay attentive with that gun, else such despicable things as you've done these days are met with justice before the law may mete it out. May God have mercy on your soul." He had also refused to listen to Wil. Wil who had done all he could to help them. Given his own life to give them the chance to live. Yes, Wil's Sight had not been proven until later, when the Lady was caught. But Marcus had been raised to separate himself from the problem, consider all possibilies, and avoid coming to a premature conclusion. Why had Marcus been so eager to discredit Wil before he'd had a chance to prove himself? But what was coming of her now, thinking her dearest son guilty of murder simply because of his strange behaviour following the murder? Obviously he was worried like the rest of them, and let it get to him. "That said, I don't believe that Ms. Christie is guilty, though I keep an eye out for her as I do for everyone. And obviously I do not suspect myself. But I think that point needed to be made, Wil. You have given us reason to believe in you. No one else is beyond the possibility of guilt. Lady Galanodel, supposedly frail and helpless, has proven that to us." Those her own words so long ago. Who knew it would come down to the three of them? Clearly she'd had little reason to trust Ms. Christie. Certainly less reason than she had to trust Marcus. But she herself had said that any one of them could have done it. "My son has voted twice for the deceased but innocent, poor boy, obviously having trouble not following the crowd. More than any of you I trust Marcus, though he may have chosen poorly." But this trust is based on feeling. Emotion, which wavers too quickly to be trusted by itself. His votes were poor. His actions were strange. And she no longer knew him very well at all. He sent money, but where did he get it? He kept busy, but doing what? For all I know, he might spend much of his time training in secret to be an elite assassin. But why? For what motivation? From bitterness of Charles' failures? From frustration at not living up to his mother's standards? But he'd always been successful, she had always loved him, and he was not bitter at Charles to such a degree as that. How could she think of her son this way? "I cannot see how they might implicate you, forever my dearest son." "Marcus I trust you immensely. Which is why I think I must withhold my vote today. I can no longer trust myself to think impartially, and that is what is most needed for us right now." I can no longer withhold my vote. I must try to think of my son this way so that I can wade through the lies and figure out the truth. It has come down to me. Why must it have come down to me? But I must do my best. "Although that I havent led the most unreproachable live, I have nothing to hide. As for Emily, well, I don't understand her interest for such evil doing." Easy to think it might have been Ms. Christie. No evidence points to her, she has been nothing but a perfect lady among us, but so easy to suspect her instead. "I'm sure that nobody wants to end up as the actors of a pretty grim scandal." But we are. And the one who have died already had no choice, though they would probably have rather been "actors" than dead. Right now, old as I am, with my husband waiting for me in Heaven, I would rather be dead. But I must do what I can to do right by Marcus and Ms. Christie. Images were coming quickly now. "I am so sorry to have been right about all of this. If only I knew whether I am right about the rest." "You, on the other hand, have the option of believing the words of a socialite or those of your son." "Marcus said it was pure heresy and did not voted against Emily, even if you asked him for doing so." "As one who had room in his foolish heart to even contemplate his own mother's guilt, that none of us are fully above reproach." Perhaps I have to go with something less solid than logic here. Perhaps these images in my head are clues from God, who of course has not forsaken us. What clue was there to see anyway? "And I have not a clue at the moment other than I beleive it was a man." "I didn't get a good look at the man she was partnered with but he was there!" Oh yes. The best evidence any of them had yet, even Mr. Holmes had nothing so substantial to work off of. Wil had reiterated many times that he was certain it was a man. He said that he had Seen only people who had died so far, but perhaps he was trying to protect those he had Seen from being murdered in the night because everyone knew of their innocence. He must have Seen that herself and Ms. Christie were innocent, or he could not have been so sure. "I know that you are too young to die, Marcus, but at least you'll be with him and I." Katharine slumps further onto the floor, letting her head hang in her lap. She sobs until her throat is parched. Then she utters two words. "Marcus, why?" OOC: A vote for Ozymandias - Marcus Horton. And if she is wrong and not killed first, Tanuchan, Katharine will probably commit suicide after this.
  24. OOC: D@ng it, Ozy! I should have known you would make it really hard for me to stay IC and vote for you. I will have to craft a wily response to this. Who knows, maybe I will surprise everyone and vote for Celes. Tanny - sorry to be pushing this close to the limit. I have to ponder on this some more...
