  1. The art of life is finished when it's seen, because the end is the best part my friend! Many strive to reach heaven at the end. For us, heaven is better than all life Again, to put it in another way We're born, we cry and in the end we sleep. When life is hard; you're feeling down at heart, You think you'll really say life is so great? It's much much easier to love one's life When everything is goign beautifully! ---------- I want to be page 93 of Pineapples, the Avian Crows-Nyyark
  2. That rocks! I love manatees. I got to swim with two over spring break last year. ---------- I want to be page 93 of Pineapples, the Avian Crows-Nyyark
  3. Great poem. It really got me thinking, so I hope you don't mind that I added a reply. So as I walk along this hot and dusty road, Should I enjoy the sun, so hot it hurts? Should I appreciate this parching thirst? No way! I travel to arrive, to you. I'll rest, airconditioned, on your sofa, And feel the cold water run down my throat As I sit and hug you my darling wife. ---------- I want to be page 93 of Pineapples, the Avian Crows-Nyyark

  6. May I complicate by pointing out that not all of us believe that our God is as harsh as the god of the old testament? I personally believe that what you call the right side of God is most of him, we just can't always understand him. ---------- I want to be page 93 of Pineapples, the Avian Crows-Nyyark

  8. pain, shame, lack of power and lack of control I think that somewhat humans fear things that change their state without their permission. If I get scared by a roller coaster that is by choice, but if I get chased by a lion or lose my job those are things I have no control over. ---------- I want to be page 93 of Pineapples, the Avian Crows-Nyyark
  9. Here's one I wrote over the summer: Revenge When suddenly your world shatters, attacks... All the coziness of a long time friend, The memories of a cherished lover, A well fought fight... It could be anything. All gone. Now pain's engendered plunging hate. You think vengeance will make the pain go numb, When you've ruined the ones you hated so You'll find that you've ruined yourself as well ---------- I want to be page 93 of Pineapples, the Avian Crows-Nyyark
  10. I really like this. If I may give some advice though, I'm not sure that the rhymes are helping you. A few of the lines have their word order a bit too twisted. ---------- I want to be page 93 of Pineapples, the Avian Crows-Nyyark
  11. Neat idea; I wanna do one. (I'm finally back! Everywhere trees. A dirt path inbedded with rocks painful to bare feet runs through. The dead brown leaves of many many years lie on the ground almost as thick as the pleasant memories of the thousands of people who have passed through. Nearby children's laughter is heard. ---------- I want to be page 93 of Pineapples, the Avian Crows-Nyyark

  15. "Bells bells bells bells" Edgar allen Poe A group of male angels, sit peering down through a hole in the clouds at two lovers. The overpale female sits happily Though she does not notice those overhead her lover does. The angels look jealously, their eyes mostly closed, scowling, teeth clenched.
  16. My apologies Sir Loremaster sir! Maybe my lack of punctuation was had a postmodernist meaning? Ever thought of that? (no, wait, I hate postmodernist) Umm, It didn't need punctuation! yeah, there I go. The sentence wasn't over yet (having not made the trip I couldn't scream about it properly), so the punct doesn't belong yet! ---------- I want to be page 93 of Pineapples, the Avian Crows-Nyyark
  17. I however, think that a poem that is written through definitions is kind of a fascinating idea. Nice ---------- I want to be page 93 of Pineapples, the Avian Crows-Nyyark

  19. These don't really have a theme, but they're some of the not-so-Mythian quotes in my list. I've tried to avoid repeating, but I don't have a faultless memory, or time to make absolutely sure no one's posted said quote (I read them all carefully, but... : ), so bear with me if I do. History will be kind to me for I intend to write it. --Sir Winston Churchill (1874 - 1965) When a man steals your wife, there is no better revenge than to let him keep her." - Sascha Guitry "I was no petty thief, I wanted the world or nothing." - Charles Bukowski Luck can't last a lifetime unless you die young. - Russell Banks He who hesitates is probably smart... or maybe stapled to the floor. - Dr. Squid Nonchalance is the ability to remain down to earth when everything else is up in the air. - Earl Wilson I've had a perfectly wonderful evening. But this wasn't it. - Groucho Marx Inspiration could be called inhaling the memory of an act never experienced. -Ned Rorem Music is the art of thinking with sounds. -Jules Combarie Trust in Allah, but tie your camel. --Old Muslim Proverb [He was] a solemn, unsmiling, sanctimonious old iceberg who looked like he was waiting for a vacancy in the Trinity. --Mark Twain 'Tis better to remain silent and be thought a fool, than open one's mouth and remove all doubt. --Samuel Johnson Always tell the truth. That way, you don't have to remember what you said. - Mark Twain Diplomacy is the art of saying "Nice doggie!" ...until you can find a rock. Old MacDonald had an agricultural real estate tax abatement. It is better to debate a question without settling it than to settle a question without debating it." "It is an old maxim of mine that when you have excluded the impossible, whatever remains, however improbable, must be the truth." -Conan Doyle, The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes, "The Beryl Coronet" It is easier to fight for one's principles than to live up to them. -Alfred Adler Hope is a good breakfast, but it is a bad supper. -Francis Bacon When in doubt, mumble; when in trouble, delegate; when in charge, ponder. -James H. Boren After I'm dead I'd rather have people ask why I have no monument than why I have one. -Cato the Elder From now on, ending a sentence with a preposition is something up with which I will not put. -Winston Churchill Delores breezed along the surface of her life like a flat stone forever skipping along smooth water, rippling reality sporadically but oblivious to it consistently, until she finally lost momentum, sank, and due to an over- dose of fluoride as a child which caused her to suffer from chronic apathy, doomed herself to lie forever on the floor of her life as useless as an appendix and as lonely as a five-hundred pound barbell in a steroid-free fitness center. Winning sentence, 1990 Bulwer-Lytton bad fiction contest. A hippo does not have a sting in its tail, but a wise man would still rather be sat on by a bee. -- Polish proverb If I were two-faced, would I be wearing this one? -- Abraham Lincoln "If you can't get rid of the skeleton in your closet, you'd best teach it to dance." - George Bernard Shaw (1856-1950) "The true measure of a man is how he treats someone who can do him absolutely no good." - Samuel Johnson (1709-1784) "Some cause happiness wherever they go; others, whenever they go." - Oscar Wilde (1854-1900) Once at a social gathering, Gladstone said to Disraeli, 'I predict, Sir, that you will die either by hanging or of some vile disease'. Disraeli replied, 'That all depends, sir, upon whether I embrace your principles or your mistress.' Am reserving two tickets for you for my premiere. Come and bring a friend - if you have one. -- George Bernard Shaw to Winston Churchill Impossible to be present for the first performance. Will attend second - if there is one. --Churchill's reply He has the vocal modulation of a railway-station announcer, the expressive power of a fence-post and the charisma of a week-old head of lettuce. --Fintan O'Toole film critic, on Quentin Tarantino The optimist proclaims that we live in the best of all possible worlds; and the pessimist fears this is true. – James Branch Cabell, The Silver Stallion ---------- I want to be page 93 of Pineapples, the Avian Crows -Nyyark
  20. As long as you don't blame the spreading on him. He's been doing all he can to keep the lava in for the last ten years, but it's really hard to hold miles of hot lava in. I might agree that in numbers he's the key. However, I don't think that by himself he can solve the spreading. ---------- I want to be page 93 of Pineapples, the Avian Crows-Nyyark

  25. This One’s For You [White Room] I haven’t been homesick for you in months.. I’m all grown up with a place of my own. And then, your song comes on downstairs, ‘White Room’, (by Cream), and I see you dancing, I see you there, sitting on the washer… Stopping, starting, dancing in slow motion. And every time a note fades out you freeze, For each of their odd chords you have a pose. Then suddenly the chorus stops— You hold perfectly still waiting for it, Then Bam, it strikes up again and you’re off. A quick tempo and a rocking momma. No! No, really I know you’re far away. I don’t see you dancing, just wish I did. Frankly, I’ll never hear that song again, And not picture you there, dancing madly. We always did music as a family. Remembering one nice time we did it: The night before I left for good--for school. Drinking champagne and singing rock music! You said I would never forget that night. Christ were you right! Our family parties. And every time I hear those chords again, In fifty years, when so much time has passed, I’ll see you in that kitchen, dancing. But oh! I guess the thought will bring pain then. I could never listen if you were gone, No one could dance that song the way you did! But that’s stupid, I’ll hear that song again, In fact, damn if I don’t dance when I do!
