I love when someone takes a normal idea, and makes a mystery and a thing of beauty out of it. I think this is one of my favorites of yours. It gets better as it goes on I think, the imagery gets clearer. I think, that's because I don't know what you're referring to at the beginning, then when I'm able to place the imagery, it seems more vivid. Grey Butterfly Riding dark against the sky, Always listening, For your song long missing. Seeking, Your eyes are roaming, Never speaking, But your heart is moaning. Grey butterfly, Who will not sigh, Whose empty pools called eyes, Are long since dry. What you are seeking, Is behind you now, In a meadow Long since plowed. On moonlight you ride, Running from pain only darkness will hide. Through the shadowy forests you soar Looking for that which is no more. Live Grey Butterfly, Live! The structure and diction of the poem come together well in this piece. I don't know if this was intentional, but I loved it. A beautiful work.
