The Pen is Mightier than the Sword

Not a catnip cake this time...

The room looks relaxing, illuminated by a soft, soothing glow coming from skillfully hidden lamps. The warmth spreads from the fireplace in the corner, sweeping away the chill of Winter.

Tanny lets go of earth threads, after having woven them into a net that would hold easily the warmth inside the room, without allowing it to get too stuffy for comfort. A cake sits on the center table, with drinks and food on several side tables. She chuckles a bit, having earlier in the day made a catnip cake and left it elsewhere for her feline friend.

Going to a banner above the fireplace, she adds a last line and her signature in a flowing hand.

In Winter's heart there's a fire

held close, ready to flare

frozen and dead, kept safe

embers of life, promise of warmth

waiting a touch,

a word

a smile

Kept alive by friend's care.

Happy Birthday, Panther. :)

*hugs*

Thank you for everything.

In a package, waiting for its new owner, a dark-purple velvety robe waits. Flowing runes grace the hem, embroidered by a careful hand in deep red and gold threads. The hood is ample, enough to hide the face if the wearer so wishes but made in a way to not hinder sight. The sleeves can be strapped high to allow free movement or let loose to hide the hands. For a knowing eye, it glimmers with the energy woven in it - earth for steadiness and strength, water for comfort and protection. As an added bonus, the same water threads woven in the robe allow it to remain dry even under the heaviest of rains.

Somewhere in a dungeon….

“Let go you stupid zombie…eeep!”

The little girl got hold of one of the zombie’s bandages, and it started unrolling. Faster and faster the mummy de-bandaged, and the pile of cotton on the floor was rapidly growing. The normal ‘braaaaaains’ got cut off at the ‘i’ and started sounding more like ‘braaaiieeeeeee’.

As the end of the bandage cut lose from the zombie, it started tolling around and crashed into the wall where it dissolved into dust.

Perplexed, Sweet looked from the pile of cotton to the dust that slowly floated towards the ground. It only took a second and then she dived into the pile of bandages, after all she had come here for that amulet, and have it she would.

Finally she managed to dig it out from the pile, and triumphantly she held it up. The amulet was bright silver with a blue shine. In the centre an emerald emitted some sparks as the light of the torches fell through it. Sweet had no idea what the amulet had for powers, but she knew that it was already pretty. She stuck it in her pocket, and made her way back to Cabaret Room; Panther would be happy with this gift.

As she entered the Cabaret Room she finds that it’s empty and only one package lies in the corner of the room. She put her amulet down and while taking her pens out she sat down on the floor to draw up a giftwrapping for her gift.

OOC: Happy Birthday ^_^

Wyvern races towards the relaxing light of the Cabaret Room, a round object coiled in one arm and a Birthday card with a picture of an Almost Dragonic Brand Cute and Innocent Kitten Experimentation Outlet™ clutched in the other. The lizard yelps as he trips over a skillfully hidden lamp, careening into another skillfully hidden lamp and burning his card before bonking his head on a skillfully hidden ceiling lamp and toppling over. Lord Panther blinks as the lighting of the room seems to oscilate from one extreme to another, and perks his ears up as a painful almost dragonic groan echoes through the chamber.

"Happy Birthday Lord Panther." Wyvern wobbles and almost slips as he extends a claw full of ash to the birthday feline. "Pleasssse accept this, errr... this traditional almost dragonic birthday greeting. It ain't a wyvern party without a bit of greeting card ash sprinkled around for good tidings, even if it ain't vintage volcanic."

Wyvern bites his lip as he watches Lord Panther frown at the ash, then perks up and offers him the ball of fabric curled in his other arm.

"I also got ya this gift, see?"

Lord Panther raises a brow as he turns the fabric in his paws, noticing the numerous letters sown into its seams.

"It'sss an Almost Dragonic Brand Ball of Yarns.™" Wyvern strikes a toothy grin and pokes at the fabric. "It has all sorts of tales, see? Wolf tales and monkey tales and fox tales... though, uhh, don't mention that last one to Daryl, I think he prefers the rabbit tales."

Having spoken, Wyvern turns in the direction of the cake, only to finally lose his balance and topple face-first into the creamy pastry.

;-)

OOC: A Happy Belated, Lord Panther. :-) Hope it went well.

Procuring this particular present had not been easy, and keeping it hidden was even harder. But he had managed so far. He crept into #thepen and pointed out Panther to the baby panther, who at three weeks old was just discovering the world.

"But which one is it? The one with the _ or the one with the -?" - the little panther asked.

Patham frowned. Indeed there was one P-Away and a P_Away. He thought for a moment, then nudged the baby panther in its backside.

"Oh, just go there."

The little four legged animal cautiously approached the two unmoving Panthers, then when it got there licked the paw of one of them, letting out what it thought was a roar, but in reality was just a small miaou. The ribbon around the little panther's neck, along with the small card told that he was a gift from Patham.

Panther smiles at his friends who have gathered here to celebrate his birthday with him. He also looks over the gifts that were brought by his friends and takes the time to thank each person with a "thanks" and a hug.

"Thank you guys for coming. It was a good day, and always made better by good friends. Thakn you!"
