A leopard-spotted chicken with tiger-striped wings?
Flutter through the pages to see, pause, look, confusion begins.
Seen many things through the camera lens,
Glimpses of insanity, and beauty enough to cause it,
Kissed the breath of angels as they posed for me.
I have see show cats, and dogs of many breeds,
The animals of paraded shows, and pageants of beauty queens,
Walked with models along the stage, seen each strut and pose,
But never such a fowl thing has been, as a designer poultry show.
Feathers and tufts, and strutting and fuss,
Things that appear so strange
Every look from duster to pen,
Is the design that these feathered beasts took.
Arrogant parading of genetic selections, of inbreeding,
Rebreeding, and breeding by choice,
Pedigree Chickens, not peacocks, proclaim
That even a pheasant is quite plain.
But honestly, the monstrosity,
What was the breeder contemplating?
I scarce can believe, these feathers all sparkling,
Why a leopard-spotted chicken with tiger-striped wings?
ooc: this was inspired by an artical on show fowl... yes there is such a thing.
