  1. I absolutely love this part, I had a vivid picture of it as I read it.
  2. Here is my first attempt to become a member. Reading the other applications here I'm not sure mine is up to standard, but you don't learn anything until you try! Facing Reality James looked into her eyes. They were longing for him, begging him to touch her. How could he do this now, she was completely reliant on him for every little thing. Hell, she couldn’t even wear an outfit without asking him which he preferred. “James? Is something wrong?” “No Anna, I’m fine. I’m just a little tired tonight, it was a hard day at work, I think maybe I should go home.” James rose off the side of the bed and turned to grab his coat. “Wait!” Anna cried, “Don’t leave just yet, lie with me for a while, please?” He turned to face her once more, there were tears in her eyes, tears! Anyone would think he had already told her he had decided to leave her for good, but no, this was just another normal night in their relationship. It’s intensity choking him slowly but surely. He remembered back to when they had first met. Her a young painter and him a journalist. Their driving forces in life were so different, he was motivated by money and the need for a story, she cared for nothing other than life. She had taught him to live, really live. To see colours in the black and white of life, to question fact, to bring a story off the page and make it dance in front of your eyes as if you were part of it. Now she had become dependent on him for everything, how did things change so drastically? James returned to the bed and laid himself gently next to her. The softness of her overwhelmed him. He drank in her beauty until he felt dizzy and gently rested his head on her breasts. “I’ll stay.” He whispered. “How could I ever leave you, you know you are my everything, don’t you?” “I know.” Anna spoke softly as her fingers ran through his hair “and you’ll always be mine, won’t you James? You’ll never leave me.” “Never.” He curled into the curves of her body and enveloped her in his arms, drifting off into a sleep so peaceful and precious, he knew he wasn't leaving, he didn’t want to, ever. “James? James!! Are you in there?” Matt was banging on the door now, demanding an answer, nothing. He slowly opened the door and stepped into the room. It was dim and musty. The curtains were closed and he could tell no new air had entered here in some time. He saw James on the bed. Surrounding him were hundreds of photographs, all of Anna. He was still fully clothed, his arms nursing a pillow and his legs pulled into the feotal position. The bottle of vodka was on the floor beside him, almost empty but for a few drops in the bottom. “Oh James,” sighed Matt, “not again.” Matt picked up one of the photographs lying close to him and examined it. Anna was wearing a blue summer dress and one of those silly big straw hats. Her one arm was raised holding it in place as the ocean breeze fought her for it and her mouth was open wide, laughing loudly in silence. She was beautiful, he could see why James had worshipped her so much. “James, come on, we are going to be late for work. We have to go.” “But Anna….” James mumbled as he tried to lift himself from the bed. “She’s dead James, she’s never coming back. You have to deal with it, you can’t keep doing this, it’s not healthy. Maybe we can call someone.” Matt moved towards the bed to help James up. “Maybe.” Sighed James. “Maybe tomorrow.”
  3. *Stares kindly at the remarkable elf before her and takes up a seat opposite him* Thank you for your welcome and I would be honoured to join you in a drink
  4. *Sorciere stares strangely at Wyvern as he exits the room and wonders if he noticed the piece of geld seemingly stuck to his tail* Sorry about the spell thing, but I am under strict instruction not to practice magic of any kind, due to the incident with the pickle, the stapler and the small ferret. (Please don't ask, I can never speak of it) Hi Zakuro, I was sure it was you, but didn't dare risk making a fool out of myself this soon after joining by talking to you in case you weren't you (I just confused myself). Glad to see some names here I know
  5. It's hard to explain what I was aiming for when I wrote this, things always just seem to flow out and I analyze it later. I guess I wanted to portray death as something other than you would expect, but in the end, you get the same result, everyone's journey to death is different, this was just one aspect. Does that make sense? *Sorciere wanders off more confused than when she started*
  6. Thank you all for your comments, I spend most of my time writing morbid or sad poetry, but it seems that my whimsical ones get the most feedback, maybe someone is trying to tell me something
  7. I caught your eyes as they scanned the room They glistened with the dancing fires Movement within movement, I was entranced Their intense heat, draining my will I moved towards you, as you to me Your face so strong and pure it seemed Your lips drew my gaze as they smiled at me My body quivered with your stare A thousand people danced around us But I saw nothing beyond you You drank my lifeforce with those eyes so deep I was powerless to resist We moved in close, I felt you breathing Hard and fast, an excited child Although not normal I did not notice The beads of sweat sat on your face Your eyes still held me in my hunger As your breath danced warm on my skin And I still gazed upon you with wonder As you drove the knife into me My smile did not wane as you twisted As you held my back to your blade It did not fade until you withdrew it And slowly sat me down to die
  8. I like it (I know, not very 'helpful', but I can't think what else to say right now)
  9. Very strong poem in my opinion, makes you think how easily things change out of your control. well done.
  10. You captured the bewilderment beautifully, very graphic and so sad.
  11. I really love the emotion this poem brings out in me, beautiful.
  12. “The price is high,” the old man said “Far too high for you” I smiled politely, looking up “Thank you, I’ll have two” “It won’t fit you,” glared the girl “The waist is far too small” I pulled it on and zipped it “Oh no dear, not at all” If all we see is with our eyes Then assumptions surely come But know before you share your voice It’s not the only one
  13. Thank you all for the kind welcomes! I will take your word for where my avatar comes from, as I just found it searching the net one day and fell in love with it. The fact it appears to be from Magic The Gathering is interesting and now I'll know next time anyone asks me Sorciere wanders out to read some more
  14. This is not how I usually write as anyone who knows me will attest, but I am in a silly mood tonight. For a first post, it's probably not a wise choice, but everyone has to start somewhere The wheels move round slowly And the challenges start As I walk around Safeway With a small shopping cart I head for the carrots It heads for the beans I submit to it’s will Tonight we’ll have greens I see an old woman Browsing the deals I turn to avoid her The cart hits her heels I cringe and say sorry And leave her to wail My cart heads for beanstacks Half price on sale Tins all around me I scurry away Leaving the cart there No shopping today
  15. Hi A friend directed me here because he thought I would enjoy reading some of the beautiful poems and stories written. After hovering for a few days I finally decided to register. There are some wonderful works here and I am enjoying wandering aimlessly through the various posts, I even recognise a few names! Thank you all for sharing, it's great to see the way others approach certain subjects.
