Despite its length, it reads like an epic. And I do mean this in a good way- scope of story told, what story is told...hm. Perhaps ballad with an epic premise? Hard to explain really, but it feels like a well-bred hybrid of classic myth/parable. I say this, too, being one with a longtime love of Aesop, epic fantasy, native american legend, greek myth, and epic poetry (though very few of those).

Out
I want
Out
of here
Ah that one
loosened
a tooth
I think
Blood sweet
sour and tangy
like a knife
in my mouth
my eyes blur
with each
impact
Eyes
Vision
Vision
Out
Keep it
together
I'm
You're
not
getting out
of here
early
so use
the time
plan
wait
remember
add
subrtract
multiply
erase
Ha
Out
will come
soon
enough
For now
the orderlies
enter
even
now with
their normal
ruthless
effieciency
biting not
so rewarding
as hitting
the walls
of my white
white room
I broke
my ribs
too one
for you
and you
and you
the pain
reminds me
kicks thrown
in for
good measure
have to keep
them alert for
the dangerous
ones
they'll reset
my teeth
like always
and I will smile
my gratitude
to them
as I wait
and watch
and think
of the day
for the day
I am out
Glorious days
ahead I
have plenty
of time
to plan
you're asleep
but I am
always awake

Routh Kurston
Spice merchant in his middle age. Thick brown hair that he wear down to his shoulders, yet is not only flecked with grey, is begining to recede across his scalp. Slightly wrinkled around the eyes and mouth. . Calm to the point of seeming perpetually sleepy. Polite, slow to act, honest. Reaction is a bit faster than his actions. Wears fine fabrics all the time. Works equally with perfumers and farmers.

A epic to describe the human soul?
The best I've yet read.

She hides in very strange places, you must always be on watch, ready to spring at a moment's notice. I've found her in my mood, in music, in the occasional movie, in love, in death, and most recently, in s friendship.
Be ever vigilant, and do not hesitate to chase.

I'm in. :>)

- chanting "orifice" to yourself whilst browsing the comptuing section of a bookstore is not necessarily a good idea
- when sitting about three feet from your computer monitor, staring hard at it for over an hour, turn on a light
- there will aways be opportunities to learn patience. Whether you want them or not.

I scream
I cry
I shout I fight
I want to take you in my arms
I'll kill everything that hurts
I'll make the pain go away
draw blade draw sword draw breath
we fight
I fight you fight
I fear that after death
I talk I laugh
I see I look away
stones cry and dead pray
one against one hundred
three thousand to one million
justice is stronger
truth so much bigger
I am so very small
we drop like flies you and I
dust blown away in the wind
of the oncoming train
I scream
You scream
They're dying everywhere
they can't see it
and don't care
smile on the outside
dessicant in the middle
it has to stop
we're better
this is bigger
there is more to life than this
I can cut
I can sweep
I sleep occasionally
the madness must end
will
not by my hand
scream
cry scream
try

Guido obligingly stands up, and he and Ozymandias haul Falcon to his feet. While the Loremaster finally reclothes himself, Guido signals to one of the barmaids, who sits Falcon2001 down in front of a still-steaming chesburger, yam french fries, and tankard of Mountain Dew.
"Welcome back, Mister Falcon! So nice to see so many old friends around! I've got to rush, but you just call if you need anything!"
Guido guffawed and clapped the young man on the shoulder as Falcon looked with relief at his abrupt meal.
"Ha! Always said youse alright, kid!"
(She's out there, Big F. Just keep looking, and you'll find her. )

Congratulations.

O_O
"Guido! NOW"
With an impressively wolfish grin (for a guniea pig- giant or no!!) Guido sprang from his hiding place at Falcon, taking him down in the most graceful and lung-emptying flying tackle anyone had ever seen outside of avian football leagues. Several onlookers applauded. Zool gave it a 9.5, Appy an 8, and one confused chap gave it a towel.
Hands folded behind his back, Ozymandias strode casually to where a very smug indeed pinstripe-clad guinea pig sat comfortably on Falcon2001's chest. He knelt next to the gasping scribe, who rather looked as if he was still trying to process what had just happened.
"Hallo, Falc. Good to see you! Sad though it is, I understand you cannot stay.
...surely you weren't going to leave without having a cheeseburger, though?"
(Good to have evryone back, even if only for a visit! )

I emote much more than think when I write poetry (perhaps all my writing...?), and am VERY pleased this time it gelled so well with my premise.
*bows*
Thankee kindly for telling me (otherwise, I *wouldn'tve* known)..

This one I'll have to reread more times than this to fully understand, but it's got such a storyteller by the fire voice, that I think I'll enjoy it every time. :>)
