  1. OOC As the voting is quite unanimous, I'm ending day phase a bit earlier because I probably won't be able to post until tomorrow early afternoon. ~~~~ IC Wetherby protests loudly against Mrs. Christie and her random suspicion, being very near to losing his composure. Then Mrs. Horton gives a startled cry, and Marcus runs to her side. 'Mother, what...?" "N-nothing... I think.. I just felt something icy cold in my cheek..." She looks wildly around, wondering if she is finally losing her wits. Wil screams in rage, wishing someone there with an ouija board... but his attempts are quite useless, unless for startling one and other at each attempt to draw their attention. "There's a quite weird draft here..." frowns Marcus, going to the window to close it. "Anyway, where are Mr. Holmes and the others? He should question Wetherby." "Aye, that he should," says Cooper, planting himself behind the butler. "No, you aren't going nowhere, bud." Wil "Nooo... don't you see you're all wrong? He's innocent! INNOCENT! The assassin is... *G-ASP*" Sir Alfred "SHH... don't ya spoil t'e fun, lad." Sir Alfred releases Wil's throat. "They'r enjoyin' t'is game." Wil "You... I scared you away!" Sir Alfred "I'm alread' dead... I f'rgot t'at," shrugs. And while the ghosts are distracted, the living take Wetherby and escort him into the library, looking for Holmes. But, to their disappointment, the room is empty. Lord Richard, when found, explains that Holmes and Watson are somewhere in the property investigating the various places of the assassinations, and Lestrade had gone to the train station to send some reports to London. Marcus and Cooper look at each other, and the butcher shrugs. "Well, lock him up somewhere until they appear. I certainly won't be pushing this man here and there while looking for Mr. Holmes." "Lock him in his rooms, then. I'll stand watch there until you come back." Wetherby is then taken to his room, and Cooper paces in front of its door talking to Mrs. Horton. It's dark when Watson and Holmes finally appear, apparently engaged in an argument. They stop as Marcus and Mrs. Christie tell them of their suspicions and takes them to Wetherby's rooms, where Cooper and Mrs. Horton are still guarding the door. When the door is opened, there's an immediate sweet and pungent odour that assaults their noses. Holmes hastily pulls everybody away, then covering his nose and mouth with a handkerchief he enters. He surveys quickly the room, locating the candles and putting them out. In minutes Holmes leaves the room, dragging Wetherby's body. "I fear it's already too late," he says, coughing. "I opened the windows, it must be safe to enter in some minutes." "What happened, Mr. Holmes?!" cries Mrs. Horton, panicked. "Nobody passed by us, nobody could..." Holmes shakes his head grimly. "No, my dear Mrs. Horton, don't worry about your lack of luck in guarding doors... it has been prepared for some time. This candle..." he shows a stub still in its silvered small candelabra, " ...was skillfully prepared with chemicals. Upon reaching its middle, it started burning a poisonous substance. It was at Wetherby's bedside. He would have died any night." Watson turns to Holmes, shaking his head slightly. Holmes closes his fists, muttering, "This is personal already. Whoever it is, he or she is enjoying my presence and flaunting their supposed skills!" He shows the base of the candle stub. There's a small wolf footprint. OOC Wetherby Danielson/MeThinksUFoolish was an innocent butler, after all... it's Night Phase. Wolf, please send me your PM... day phase starts in about 20h (around midday EST, tomorrow).
  2. OOC: Scorecard Who's alive and suspicious... Katharine Horton (Katzaniel) ==> , retired schoolteacher Wetherby Danielson (MeThinksUFoolish) ==> Sir Cecil Garnavon's butler Marcus Horton (Ozymandias) ==> a butcher (Katharine's son) Elisabeth Christie (Lady Celes) ==> well-known socialite Edwyn Cooper (Eyremon) ==> American soldier/merc just back from Africa NPC status... George Worthington (X-Sabre) ==> tavern owner Gavin Doyle (Matteo) ==> Philosophy major with minor in English Who's unfortunately passed away... Sir Garnavon, first NPC kill Vincent Cuthbert (Dean) ==> doctor of Chemistry Lady Clarice, second NPC kill John Norfolk (Nave) ==> merchant Shota Vahktang (Vahktang) ==> Georgian gentleman Lady Emily Galanodel (Elwen) ==> first Werewolf assassin Sir Alfred Peterson (Degenero Angelus) ==> the Baner James Doyle (Tamaranis) ==> stableboy at Garnavon Hall Wil (Gnarlitch) ==> the Seer
  3. I hadn't thought about competing wolves ! Yes, it would be fun, specially in a big group I like the idea also ! But we would still have the problem of dealing with double night-kills... would it be possible to have the wolves getting turns? In this way, each night one of the wolves would kill. Gnarlitch, Dean, Nave, who are all mods longer than me, what do you think? Wolves would be competing among themselves, and not just against the villagers. Lady Celes, thanks again for your words about the Chronicles I'm trying really to make that a story, and I do have many doubts if the result is an enjoyable reading... We "lived" that story and we know what happened, I really wonder how it goes for an "outsider" And.. that last day wasn't as messy as this one in ww III ! At a time it seemed certain you'd lynch Eyremon, then at the end Tamaranis got almost all the votes! lol ~Tanny
  4. OOC As there was missing just one vote, and it wouldn't make any difference in the final result (although being the victim's vote), I decided to end day phase earlier. Hope you don't mind If I get the PMs early, I should be able to start next day phase tomorrow early afternoon.
  5. Lestrade and Watson seem quite at a loss when several of the guests enter at the same time at the library, one accusing the other until Lestrade shouts asking for silence. "So what is happening here, gentlemen?" "James Doyle. The stable boy. It must be him," asserts Elisabeth. "We have discussed this already, Mrs. Horton," cuts her. "Accusing the butler just proves that you're too much into novels." "Yes. He had the means and the excuses," agrees Wil, proceeding to explain his reasoning while others nod at his words. After some time, Lestrade listens and nods, sending then someone after the stable boy. Meanwhile, Holmes keeps to himself apparently lost in thoughts. "So, Holmes. What do you think? Wil is coherent in his deductions." "He may be coherent, but it does not make him right, Watson. I wonder where James is. I couldn't find him this morning, and no one has seen him since yesterday. I did want to talk to him." Soon it's clear that James isn't anywhere in the house or the stables, and servants are dispatched to see if they can find him. It's not much later that Holmes, Lestrade, and Watson gaze at James' body, in a lane not far from the last stable. When Holmes turns it, they see his face... "A horse!" gasps Lestrade, recognizing a horseshoe-shaped wound in the sunken part of the unfortunate boy's face. "What an unfortunate accident!" Watson ignores Lestrade as he follows Holmes' eyes to a horse grazing nearby. Without a word, they nod at each other and near the white horse slowly. Holmes carefully examines its hind hooves. Lestrade, approaching, whistles. Horseshoes glint in the sunset... bloody, and silvered. OOC James Doyle/Tamaranis was an innocent villager. It's Night Phase. Wolf/Seer, please send your PMs. Day phase starts in 24 hours or as soon as I get the PMs I need.
  6. Hmm... well, my opinion: If you split the wolves, you will have to either work with 2 night kills (what is extremely advantageous to the wolves) or roll to decide who's the victim. If you set 2 night kills and 2 lynching, you'll finish the game earlier. As for two teams... would they compete with each other to see who wins faster? Usually, when we have more than 17 players there are 3 wolves, and more than 20 allow 2 Seers. The settings are completely free and depend on both moderator and players As for next mod... any volunteer?
  7. OOC Fast Tally James Doyle (Tamaranis) ==> 2 votes Edwyn Cooper (Eyremon) ==> 3 votes Still missing 2 votes. Day phase ends in about 26 hours or as soon as everybody has voted. Our new NPC's... George Worthington (X-Sabre) ==> tavern owner, attending a sick relative out of town Gavin Doyle (Matteo) ==> Philosophy major with minor in English, attending his lady so as to keep his hide whole
  8. Watson and Lestrade observe Wil as he leaves. "Second Sight? I have still to be convinced. But the lad seems alright, otherwise." Lestrade, skeptical, turns to Holmes. "Anyway, Holmes, and that tavern owner? He was in the list of guests but no one has seen him in the village for some days." Holmes shakes his head, lighting his pipe. "Nothing wrong about him as far as I know. It seems he received a last minute notice that a relative was sick, and left for London soon afterwards." "And Gavin Doyle?" Lestrade goes on, turning in his hands the list of guests. "He left very suddenly two days ago." Holmes gives an amused smile, "Well, it seems he had a friend who was quite... anxious... about his absence. She was threatening to tear his hide away if he didn't go back to her. He left in a hurry, eluding you, Watson. He knew he wasn't supposed to leave, but you wouldn't have let him go... I suppose he was more afraid of his lady than of you." OOC Sabre couldn't make it for the game until now, so I also guess he's out. Matteo had to bow out early, and apologizes to all of you. Both of them are welcome if they find the time to come back and post IC, but they're from now on considered NPC's for game purposes (can interact but, please, no accusations). ~Tanny
  9. OOC: Scorecard Who's alive and suspicious... Katharine Horton (Katzaniel) ==> , retired schoolteacher Wetherby Danielson (MeThinksUFoolish) ==> Sir Cecil Garnavon's butler George Worthington (X-Sabre) ==> tavern owner James Doyle (Tamaranis) ==> stableboy at Garnavon Hall Marcus Horton (Ozymandias) ==> a butcher (Katharine's son) Elisabeth Christie (Lady Celes) ==> well-known socialite Gavin Doyle (Matteo) ==> Philosophy major with minor in English Edwyn Cooper (Eyremon) ==> American soldier/merc just back from Africa Wil (Gnarlitch) ==> jack o' all trades Who's unfortunately passed away... Sir Garnavon, first NPC kill Vincent Cuthbert (Dean) ==> doctor of Chemistry Lady Clarice, second NPC kill John Norfolk (Nave) ==> merchant Shota Vahktang (Vahktang) ==> Georgian gentleman Lady Emily Galanodel (Elwen) ==> first Werewolf assassin Sir Alfred Peterson (Degenero Angelus) ==> the Baner
  10. "Watson, wake up!" The doctor mumbles a bit until Holmes' words enter his mind, waking him completely. "Holmes? What happened?" "Shh. I heard a noise. Dress quickly, get your pistol and come! " A shadow walks slowly but surely in the corridor, carrying a small bag. It stops in front of the door next to the stairs, and starts working quickly on it. There are some soft clicking noises as a trap is set... The moon shines through the window near the end of the corridor, bringing to Holmes and Watson some sharpness to the shadowy figure they can see squatting at the door. A glint of metal to his right calls Watson's attention, and he nudges Holmes. "Garnavon's coat of arms" whispers Holmes. "It wasn't there before." A whisper makes the figure straighten quite suddenly, looking around in alarm. Watson and Holmes tense at the same time, too far to see what caused the movement. "Goddammit!" swears Holmes, sprinting and shouting, "No, don't move!" Several things happen at once. The sudden whisper that teases, "So my little ruse worked... I wouldn't be so obvious, would I?" A string yet unseen, a step back towards a coat of arms that shouldn't be there. A sword glinting in the moonlight as it slides into flesh. Watson kneels besides the body as Holmes runs downstairs. He comes back in minutes with a grim face. "Surprisingly fast, and it was well planned. No sign of whoever it was. And Sir Alfred?" "You know it was him!" "Recognized him when he straightened. And I wish I had had the time to talk to him before he retired, but Lestrade kept being a nuisance. I could have been able to avoid this... How's he, Watson?" "Dead. The sword got his jugular in a most unfortunate strike." "Unfortunate? No." Holmes examines carefully the body, the door, the sword, and the coat of arms. "What was he doing here, Holmes?" "Trying to protect." Holmes turns to him. "He was a most skilled man with traps, but it seems he finally met his equal. This was carefully planned... both the springing mechanism of the trap and the way it was set so that the sword would get anyone's neck on its path. And... see the sword, Watson?" The doctor picks it carefully. "A silvered blade! And... a wolf's head in the hilt!" "The trademark of the Werewolves. Silver and wolf mark." OOC The Werewolf Assassin was lucky or incredibly smart. Sir Alfred Peterson/Degenero Angelus was the Baner! It's Day Phase, and you have 48 hours to speculate and accuse, hoping Mr. Holmes will heed your words and act wisely.
  11. OOC No need for apologies, Elwen, and I hope everything's alright with you. You played nicely and was a real good wolf concerning PMs and feedback, although through your packmate. We'll later see what the other players thought of Lady Emily
  12. Yup, that's exactly what happened It was already being taken care of when I was preparing Lady Emily's lynching. Lucky me that I was already naming the assassin guild "Werewolves"... Don't worry about explaining it, Mr. Holmes has just arrived at Garnavon Hall!
  13. OOC: Scorecard Who's alive and suspicious... Katharine Horton (Katzaniel) ==> , retired schoolteacher Wetherby Danielson (MeThinksUFoolish) ==> Sir Cecil Garnavon's butler George Worthington (X-Sabre) ==> tavern owner Sir Alfred Peterson (Degenero Angelus) ==> rich old Knight and Nobleman James Doyle (Tamaranis) ==> stableboy at Garnavon Hall Marcus Horton (Ozymandias) ==> a butcher (Katharine's son) Elisabeth Christie (Lady Celes) ==> well-known socialite Gavin Doyle (Matteo) ==> Philosophy major with minor in English Edwyn Cooper (Eyremon) ==> American soldier/merc just back from Africa Wil (Gnarlitch) ==> jack o' all trades Who's unfortunately passed away... Sir Garnavon, first NPC kill Vincent Cuthbert (Dean) ==> doctor of Chemistry Lady Clarice, second NPC kill John Norfolk (Nave) ==> merchant Shota Vahktang (Vahktang) ==> Georgian gentleman Lady Emily Galanodel (Elwen) ==> first Werewolf assassin
  14. Lord Richard, Watson, and a third man enter in a run, attracted by the shooting. Taking in Wil recovering conscience, Cooper pointing a gun at both Marcus and Lady Emily, and the damage done to the furniture, all three draw weapons. "What is happening here, gentlemen? Mr. Cooper, put that gun down." "This Welshman is insane, Lord Richard. He has claimed to have seen Lady Emily here transform into a werewolf last night," says Marcus still glaring at Wil. "And was babbling accusations, and pointing a gun at a poor crippled girl!" Cooper gives the gun to Watson, confirming the story and also explaining Wil's claim to have the Second Sight. Watson looks at the third man, who nods in a quite annoyed way also putting away his weapon. "Second Sight, eh? Well, well... that does look like an insane man's talk. But right now, I see that we should analise this very carefully. As I understand from what Dr. Watson and Lord Richard have been telling me, this gentleman here..." turns to Wil, who's groggily standing up,"... has followed tracks, found actual footprints and related them to Lady Galanodel here. And you say he has just shown proof she could have been involved in the crimes?" Lord Richard steps in, grimly, to present the lean, ferret-like man. "This is Inspector Lestrade, from the Scotland Yard. We called him after yesterday evening's events." As Lord Richard asks the guests to the library, Lady Emily being led in her chair by Dr.Watson, there's some loud noise coming from just behind them. When they turn, Lady Emily quickly sprints from the chair and pushes Mrs. Horton into Marcus and Sir Alfred, running then to the kitchen. Wil is after her in seconds, being prepared for anything, and he's followed closely by Cooper. The kitchen's servants gape at the scene as Lady Emily passes through, followed closely by several people. She dodges Wil, who tries to grab her arm, and sends a cooking pan flying into Cooper's face, before gaining the outside. Cooper staggers at the blow and falls over Lestrade, delaying the pursuit. Lady Emily glances quickly behind her, pretty sure of having escaped... for there's a hidden horse for her near the stables. However, a branch appears from nowhere and trips her flat to the ground. "It really won't do for a lady be running in such haste. Specially one who is not supposed to be even walking." Emily looks up, recognizing at once the tall, thin figure of Sherlock Holmes pointing a pistol at her. "My dear Werewolf, wouldn't you just get up and wait for my friends who seem to have been a bit delayed in your pursuit? No? Well, be comfortable there, then." The sheer hate in her eyes would have been sufficient for making anyone tremble, but Holmes just smiles levelly. Lord Richard arrives with the others, and Lestrade pulls Lady Emily to her feet. "So, Lady Werewolf, finally we caught one of you," grins him. "Werewolf?!" cries Wetherby, surprised. Holmes nods. "Yes. An assassin guild, whose members go from Cub to Werewolf. And she is one of the main... Lestrade, hold her!" Lestrade and Watson grab Lady Emily's hands, which had been to her mouth, but she smiles. "Too late... it's quick, and painless... you won't have anything..." Gasping, she convulses. Holmes stops Watson from helping, shaking his head. "No use, Watson. I know some of the poisons the guildmembers use. She'll be dead in minutes." He raises her hand, showing a ring with a false jewel... opened to reveal a small cavity where a drop of liquid still lingers. OOC Lady Emily Galanodel was a Werewolf, one of a most efficient Guild of Assassins. Good choice! Now, while Holmes gets the latest facts from Watson and Lord Richard, it's time for the guests rest and think about what they'll be telling Mr.Holmes when morning comes. It's Night Phase! Wolf/Seer/Baner, please send your PMs. Day Phase will start in 24 hours or as soon as I get all the PMs.
  15. OOC Gnarlitch, your RP is really nice and your style isn't *that* different from what we're used to. As your fellow RPer in the other forum, I know what you mean about the differences but, really, don't worry. I hope you keep PRing with us here, and get used also to our little quirks. As for current day phase, I'm extending the voting because the missing votes (including Elwen's) could make a difference. As I won't be able to post before tomorrow near midday, I'm extending day phase for another 12 hours. ~Tanny
  16. What I meant, really, wasn't these kinds of OOC line. I was thinking about what specifically brought up last comments, when a person states clearly their role in the game -- not being away or similar things, for a PM with instructions for the mod is sufficient for taking care of those. Anyway, thanks for your thoughts ~Tanny
  17. There were comments about OOC lines that appeared last day, that I'd like to discuss a bit... Going OOC to say anything about one's role in the game is an option that has always been left open to the players. However, I also feel it does affect roleplay if, for example, we step OOC to claim we're innocent. So, should we just make an informal deal that OOC lines are fine, as long as we avoid using them to reveal roles in the game? ~Tanny
  18. OOCHehe... Sorry, Vahk. No way of you knowing who killed you, since you got hit from behind But maybe you could just discern two voices before losing conscience... Sincerely? Had a writer's block last night I hope next scenes will come out better.
  19. OOC: Scorecard Who's alive and suspicious... Katharine Horton (Katzaniel) ==> , retired schoolteacher Wetherby Danielson (MeThinksUFoolish) ==> Sir Cecil Garnavon's butler George Worthington (X-Sabre) ==> tavern owner Sir Alfred Peterson (Degenero Angelus) ==> rich old Knight and Nobleman James Doyle (Tamaranis) ==> stableboy at Garnavon Hall Marcus Horton (Ozymandias) ==> a butcher (Katharine's son) Elisabeth Christie (Lady Celes) ==> well-known socialite Gavin Doyle (Matteo) ==> Philosophy major with minor in English Lady Emily Galanodel (Elwen) ==> unconventional teenage noblewoman Edwyn Cooper (Eyremon) ==> American soldier/merc just back from Africa Wil (Gnarlitch) ==> jack o' all trades Who's unfortunately passed away... Sir Garnavon, first NPC kill Vincent Cuthbert (Dean) ==> doctor of Chemistry Lady Clarice, second NPC kill John Norfolk (Nave) ==> merchant Shota Vahktang (Vahktang) ==> Georgian gentleman
  20. Watson paces in the library, with a tired face. He looks at his last report to Holmes. Two assassins! And why? While he thought just Garnavon's family was a target, he could understand. But, now, the guests? He would just assume that Cuthbert also had been murdered... Who were they fighting against? And those questions Holmes kept asking? Well, he at least knew now what he should look for and put in his reports. OOC Vahktang was an innocent villager. It's Day Phase! You have 48 hours to try to find one of the assassins.
  21. Called by a servant, Watson kneels by Lady Galanodel while accusations still fly over his head. "See what you did. Norfolk, you're an insensitive bastard!" growls Marcus, as Wil just pipes in, "Hah. Good act, I say." "She cannot leave her chair, she's frail and pretty defenseless, and you have the face to accuse her, you who are nothing?" Elisabeth glares at Wil. "I know Wil and I know he has never been one to act based in prejudice." Mrs. Horton sets piercing eyes on Elisabeth. "You are the one who seems to have some bias towards social position here, Mrs. Christie." "Ladies, gentlemen, could you please calm down?" says Watson in an authoritative voice while he helps Lady Galanodel to her wheelchair. "May I ask what happened here?" It's quite some time before he can sort out the accusations, and he then nods. "I'm sorry about this, Mr. Norfolk. But I think we should talk in private." "This is absurd," cries Norfolk, stepping back. "It's insulting! You cannot be serious about it!" Marcus steps right behind Norfolk, grabbing his shoulder. "I wouldn't go anywhere, Mr. Norfolk. Dr. Watson just wants to talk... or is this so..." Norfolk shakes him off rudely, eyeing the gathered people in a proud way. "I'm no assassin. If you don't believe it, well... send for the police. Or keep me locked. But I will not be interrogated by you, dr. Watson. You have no competence for that." "I won't have Dr. Watson be insulted in my house, Mr. Norfolk." They turn, and meet Lord Richard's stern gaze. "You are all my guests, and my friends. However, one of you is responsible for my father and my sister's deaths. I will take full responsibility for that, Mr. Norfolk, but I'm asking you to keep to your room. Better yet, I'm asking you to move to the third floor... there are no balconies there, nor a way to get out through the windows. I myself will lock the door, so there's no doubt upon any of my servants." Norfolk seems to hesitate, but then nods. "It seems I have no choice. If I refuse, you'll probably just have me knocked down and tied... and sent to the police as an assassin." "So it's settled. Lady Emily, are you alright?" She nods weakly, still pale from her ordeal. Soon later, Norfolk is escorted to his new rooms and the house prepares for the coming night. OOC Nave/John Norfolk was innocent. It's Night Phase. Wolves/Seer/Baner, please send me your PMs. Day Phase starts in 24hours or as soon as I get all the PMs.
  22. 23. Watson turns Holmes' letter from one side to the other, trying at the same time write his new report and answer all questions. He wonders why it seems that Holmes is always looking for things completely different from what he, Watson, would consider relevant. Well, after Lady Clarice's murder it was evident that a letter-opener was missing... Wetherby had recognized it when Watson had shown him the cause of the mare's panic. What did Holmes take him for? He was a doctor! Of course he had examined the body... the tiny silver needle was stuck in the back of Lord Garnavon's neck, right beside a birthmark... Wait... the birthmark... Watson rounds his eyes, hastily scribbling in a notepad what he'd just remembered: the birthmark looked like an animal's footprint... a wolf's, he would say. And when he commented with both Lord Richard and Lady Clarice the odd aspect of that birthmark, they had looked at him and wondered about what he was talking about. More scribbling... Watson recalls the scene after the fire was put out and the basement cleared from the toxic fumes. Dr.Cuthbert's face over a fallen Bunsen burner, his features unrecognizable as apparently there had been something silverish on the burner that stuck to his face. And, the next to last paragraph... Wil brought Lady Clarice's locket, which he found broken at the site of the murder. No one knows about the picture in it, although she has carried that locket for many years. Lord Richard is in shock, and Lady Marise says she has once, accidentaly, seen the picture of a young boy but has no idea who he was. She says Lady Clarice was very silent about it, and never talked about him. ~~~~~~ OOC You still have about 24 hours to put your votes in...
  24. OOC: Sure. Sorry, I keep forgetting that you have choices for the skin in this board... I'll try avoiding color-coded text.
