Shadows’ Walk
As I walk,
This path through life,
My shadow follows,
Wrought with strife.
Silently observing,
Noticing all I do,
My shadow cherishes,
Time spent with you.
I wish it could say,
The things I cannot,
But would that take meaning,
From things it should not?
Your shadow is one,
My shadow knows of,
If I didn’t know better,
I’d say it’s in love.
When next we meet,
And spend time together,
Watch our shadows,
How they compliment each other.
My shadow’s walk,
Mimics my own,
Though I think it wearies,
Of walking alone.
Would your shadow walk,
Hand in hand with mine,
As we follow this path,
Through the sands of time?
As the sun grows long,
Our shadows retire,
Alone with each other
Our shadows’ true desire.
