  1. *EDIT: Never mind. The Third Annual Archmage Royal Rumble has already conveniently been created for our benefit! Pardon me while I run off and bump it back up! :D

    1) Necro-ing threads is poor etiquitte.

    2) That was two years ago. Start up the Fifth Annual, if you want to do it.

    3) I wouldn't be opposed to seeing more what I call "free-form" RPing. There's too much Werewolf anyways. =P

    4) I tried Nimball and it didn't work the way you (probably) would want it to. The very nature of Nimball is that it be spontaneous and full of flames. One of those is frowned upon here, and I don't think enough people understood the spirit of it to make it work. You're welcome to try it again, I'll point you to the previous time it was done, if you're inclined.

    5) Joust? Competition? Sure. But don't start that. Be creative; think up your own stuff. This applies to Nimball, The Joust, and the Royal Rumble. Your creative stuff will be much better recieved than a rehash of nostalagia. That's why you got so many 'no' votes.

    6) Good luck! =)

  2. This reminds me of a poem I once read...

    "Nothing but Grays" I believe it was. Now I have to go find it again!

    I thought that the rhyming in the first stanza was excelent, but unfortunately the rest of the poem dissapointed me slightly in that respect. The imperfect rhymes within were refreshing, and the contrast provided between (what I understood to be) the past and the future is enlightening.

    I'm going to have to start reading more of you. =)

  3. Reading through this thread, I noticed that nobody took a line from a while back;

    Intricate shells of transparent splendor

    Gaze out amongst the stars so far away

    A web of knowledge trapped deeply within

    Rushing to the surface of this pond of memories

    Life that gives and takes of it's own accord

    A world that posesses self and desire

    Shows everything I need to see

    And shelters my lonely eyes

    A fine film covers this existance

    Constricting and binding

    The shells that cover

    And protect

    ~~~~~~
    Blah.
  4. As Vinnie began to complain, a salesman passed by the bus stop. This was no ordinary salesman, but a door-to-door salesman of vacuum cleaners. Being too slow to escape the sucking power of suction, the molluscs got stuck to a haphazardly turned on vacuum cleaner.
    Fortunately for them, this particular model has a safety filter that prevented them from undergoing a tour of the worlds best selling bagless upright. By the time the salesman reached the next house, he noticed that something was amiss in his product bag. Flipping a switch, and stepping indoors, Melvin and Vinne were left alone on the stoop.
  5. Stick - I did no such thing. ;-P
    Anyways, I got some more...
    Have you ever eaten a quart of ice cream because you couldn't find anything else?
    Have you ever eaten a pound of Easter chocolates?
    ... While on IRC?
    Have you ever accidentaly eaten the foil that chocolate candies are wrapped in?
    Have you ever called poison control?
    Has the person on the other end of the line ever laughed at you?
  6. Vlad walks up to the microphone after seeing Ozy and Stick perform. Hesitantly he begins...
    "No. Yes. Yes, yes, no.
    "No, no, yes, yes. Yes, yes, no."
    "Have you ever wondered why you're doing something, only to remeber that you don't need a reason?"
    "Have you ever cried when you thought you should laugh, or laughed when you though you should cry?"
    "Have you ever been surrounded by emptyness?"
    "Have you ever regreted a failure?"
  7. Ooohh, so visual and metaphorical. I love it.
    I love how the poem seems to be soft-spoken or non-chalant,
    As if to say "I'm too numb to feel dead."
    The flow broke a few times, you can PM me if it matters.
    It shouldn't though, I only noticed it on my third read.
    It didn't strike me as a love poem (of sorts) at first, bbut you pulled that off nicely.
    Well done Fal.
  8. Vlad wanders by humming a quaint little tune. Seeing the bad advice booth, he walks over, and immediately feels at home.
    "Well here's what I can tell you:
    Never ask a cop if you look sober enough to drive.
    Never press a large red button marked "Do Not Press."
    Don't ride a camel backwards through the city.
    Oh, I've got one more.
    If it looks electric, don't try to lick it."
  9. The vampire reches out, and delicately takes the spider from the Necrmancer's hands. He examines it from all angles, pondering if it is worth the five geld. While looking at it he feels a small nip on his finger, which startles him, but he manages to hide his surprise. After holding on to it for only a moment longer, he carefully sets the arachnid down on a nearby table and pulls out the cross which hangs from his neck.
    "Didn't expect that, now did you? Garlic's not much of a problem either."
    Vlad stares directly at the necromancer, as if to issue a challenge.
    "I do, however, think I'll take that spell."
    Counting out five pieces of geld, he drops them into the necromancer's outstretched palm. As the necromancer looks down to quickly count the coins, the papyrus and vampire both disappear.
    Standing so tall-
    Gracious Elf.
    Who could you be-
    Other than yourself?
    Magic so strong-
    Sorceress Elf.
    Could it be her?
    There is no-one else.
    Feelings so kind-
    Caring one.
    Helping all creatures-
    Under the sun.
    Hiding from fame-
    Humble one.
    Hiding your strength-
    Never overdone.
    AN: So I cheated horribly.
    I'm not expecting payment for this, but I want to see how many people will guess it anyways.
    I chopped off the last stanza, because it contained the person's name.
  11. As midnight tolls for the bell, a cloaked figure approaches the tent, eyes darting to make sure he wasn't followed. The moon shows an unnaturally pale face, and reveals a very lean frame. A glint comes from the man's teeth and hip, indicating a dagger.
    "What can you do for ..... a vampire?"
  12. OOC: Sometimes I wish this board would let me format with indents.
    However it can't, so just try to ignore the periods that lead off some lines.
    I believe in life:
    ..........in love
    ..........in fate
    I believe in my own burdens:
    ..........those never lifted
    ..........those never forgotten
    I hear life go on:
    ..........music plays
    ..........dying men scream
    I hear myself live:
    ..........my heart beats
    ..........there is noise
    I know of the truth:
    ..........what you meant
    ..........I was a fool
    But I know the end
    and that we could not be,
    I was wrong for you,
    but you were right for me.
    This poem screamed to want a flair for the dramatic,
    So I gave it some visual style.
    There needed to be somethign tying it all together,
    Which was done easily enough with parallel structure.
    The last line had to be broken in two,
    otherwise it would have been too much of a visual contrast.
    Also, the commas at the end of every line made for some unnatural pauses, thus were removed.
    Other than that, I think you can take this poem as is, or tweak it some more.
    - Vlad
  13. Wandering around with a constant yawn, Vlad slowly finds his way to the Cabaret room. Having been gone during the start of the carnival, he finds himself very confused.
    "I'm confused!" he exclaimed. "What's all the commotion about?"
    Many screams can be heard from the crowd, which soon answer the vampire's questions.
    "Oh! There's a bachelor auction!"
    "Look, look! Orlan has signed up!"
    Shrugging, and deciding he wants to pocket some geld, Vlad hesitantly makes his way to the list and signs up.
    I just remembered, I'm horrible at RP
  14. Pshaw, Vlad! There's plenty to write about you! I wrote three things, in fact! :P
    If you [Tralla] really want to write more about me, I'll be fine with that.
    If someone else wants to write about me, I probably won't be around to answer questions about my character. So I'll defer to Tralla and/or Deg. I feel that those two know me best. Or at the very least, have dealt with me the most.
  15. Blood boiling;
    Anger rising;
    Senses spinning;
    Why can't I just walk away?
    Teeth grinding;
    Fists clenching;
    Heart pounding;
    Why can't I... Just walk away?
    Hormones rushing;
    'Drenaline pumping;
    Pride grumbling;
    Why. Can't. I. Just. Walk. Away?
    Hate flooding;
    Fear crushing;
    Passion growing;
    Whycan'tIjustwalkaway?
    Pulse receding;
    Thought returning;
    Muscles relaxing;
    Because I could just... Walk away.
