  1. Peredhil, what do you mean? I dont understand. are you saying i should post in bold more often, or that i should be bold and post more often? In confusion Lady_Shade
  2. Praying to the Gods Earth the life giver Bewildering beauty I stand before you And pray to you Gods Fire all powerful nothing stands before you I bow before you And pray to you Gods Illusion changing perception reality molds to your whim I cry before you And pray to you Gods Light reveals all Bringing darkness to mercy I lay down before you And pray to you Gods Darkness brings shadows defying death and spreading doubt I cower before you And pray to you Gods In sincere apology, Lady Shade *Lady Shade spends the next few weeks burying all of Surius' units and placing head stones at each grave.*
  3. Thankyou guys a lot. I enjoy reading what people have to say about my writing. I think i may just leave it as the first line. Thankyou again Lady Shade
  4. First i would like to say thank you to Peredhil because I probly wouldnt have posted this if it hadent been for your 'should I post' poem. Second I dont have a name for my poem does anyone have any ideas? Anyways here it is Creeping in the darkness Uncertainty hides its brutal face Disguised as truth and logic Taking over the whole of life A flawless guise to undo The hard earned trust The love you have What-ifs pile overhead Hanging over everything Lies aren’t really there Don’t know how to deal How fragile reality seems Unable to give credence Letting the past go Eagerly seizing the future Embarking on the healing path Ready for a companion Longing for love Too much time has passed It took more time than was had All chances linger unresolved Wrestles sleep steals life’s beacon A different kind of darkness befalls No more doubt No more anguish All emotions escape It is quiet now
  5. Sorry im still new and i saw that the discription said Poems on the other place. Thankyou for moving to the correct place. It only took me 3 days of looking to find it sometimes I can be a tad blond! Lady Shade PS Thank you for the compliment on my sig and I will change the size ASAP.
  6. T'WAS THE NIGHT BEFORE CHRISTMAS, HE LIVED ALL ALONE, IN A ONE BEDROOM HOUSE, MADE OF PLASTER AND STONE. I HAD COME DOWN THE CHIMNEY, WITH PRESENTS TO GIVE, AND TO SEE JUST WHO, IN THIS HOME DID LIVE. I LOOKED ALL ABOUT, A STRANGE SIGHT I DID SEE, NO TINSEL, NO PRESENTS, NOT EVEN A TREE. NO STOCKING BY THE MANTLE, JUST BOOTS FILLED WITH SAND, ON THE WALL HUNG PICTURES, OF FAR DISTANT LANDS. WITH MEDALS AND BADGES, AWARDS OF ALL KINDS, A SOBER THOUGHT, CAME THROUGH MY MIND. FOR THIS HOUSE WAS DIFFERENT, IT WAS DARK AND DREARY, I FOUND THE HOME OF A SOLDIER, ONCE I COULD SEE CLEARLY. THE SOLDIER LAY SLEEPING, SILENT, ALONE, CURLED UP ON THE FLOOR, IN THIS ONE BEDROOM HOME. THE FACE WAS SO GENTLE, THE ROOM IN SUCH DISORDER, NOT HOW I PICTURED, A CANADIAN SOLDIER. WAS THIS THE HERO, OF WHOM I'D JUST READ?, CURLED UP ON A PONCHO, THE FLOOR FOR A BED? I REALIZED THE FAMILIES, THAT I SAW THIS NIGHT, OWED THEIR LIVES TO THESE SOLDIERS, WHO WERE WILLING TO FIGHT. SOON ROUND THE WORLD, THE CHILDREN WOULD PLAY, AND GROWNUPS WOULD CELEBRATE, A BRIGHT CHRISTMAS DAY. THEY ALL ENJOYED FREEDOM, EACH MONTH OF THE YEAR, BECAUSE OF THE SOLDIERS, LIKE THE ONE LYING HERE. I COULDN'T HELP WONDER, HOW MANY LAY ALONE, ON A COLD CHRISTMAS EVE, IN A LAND FAR FROM HOME. THE VERY THOUGHT BROUGHT, A TEAR TO MY EYE, I DROPPED TO MY KNEES, AND STARTED TO CRY. THE SOLDIER AWAKENED, AND I HEARD A ROUGH VOICE, "SANTA, DON'T CRY, THIS LIFE IS MY CHOICE. I FIGHT FOR FREEDOM, I DON'T ASK FOR MORE, MY LIFE IS MY GOD, MY COUNTRY, MY CORPS." THE SOLDIER ROLLED OVER, AND DRIFTED TO SLEEP, I COULDN'T CONTROL IT, I CONTINUED TO WEEP. I KEPT WATCH FOR HOURS, SO SILENT AND STILL, AND WE BOTH SHIVERED, FROM THE COLD NIGHT'S CHILL. I DIDN'T WANT TO LEAVE, ON THAT COLD, DARK NIGHT, THIS GUARDIAN OF HONOR, SO WILLING TO FIGHT. THEN THE SOLDIER ROLLED OVER, WITH A VOICE, SOFT AND PURE, WHISPERED, "CARRY ON SANTA, ITS CHRISTMAS DAY, ALL IS SECURE." ONE LOOK AT MY WATCH, AND I KNEW HE WAS RIGHT, MERRY CHRISTMAS MY FRIEND, AND TO ALL A GOOD NIGHT." This poem was written by a peace keeping soldier stationed overseas. The following is his request. I think it is reasonable. PLEASE. Would you do me the kind favor of sending this to as many people as you can? Christmas will be coming soon and some credit is due to our Canadian service men and women for our being able to celebrate these festivities. Let's try in this small way to pay a tiny bit of what we owe. Make people stop and think of our heroes, living and dead, who sacrificed themselves for us. Everyone has a photographic memory ....some just don't have any film.

  10. Manic Ramblings A short story by Lady Shade She curls up into a little ball, clenching her knees to her chest with all of her strength, crying uncontrollably. Her body and mind slowly let go as if her will to live melted away into nothingness. She now lay silently, flat on her back; it seemed her only movements were an occasional breath. Her long black hair clung to her soaked face. Everything was dark to her now, worthless, meaningless. The courage she once had to face life was beyond her now. It was only her, the darkness, the everlasting darkness, and her thoughts. The thoughts of how easy it would be for everything to be done, to let the darkness win. She drifted in and out of sanity, for hours, laying in the dark, feeling as though she would crawl out of her skin any moment. So badly she wanted the hysteria to stop. Deep in her subconscious she knew this should stop, yet could not control the urges to scream and squirm. The thoughts rushing through her head of her failures, her mistakes, and all the things that she could have done differently, better. Still she lay motionless, holding it all in. Soon all the thoughts faded into a void. A new, calmer silence came over the room. No more tears, no more sobbing, this night was over. As she got ready for work she distanced herself from thoughts of the night’s events, putting on the smile that had fooled so many people into believing that she was indeed happy. By the time she got to work at her cushy job as a secretary the whole thing seemed like a dream, as if she watched it all happen. She knew better though, and she knew it wouldn’t be the last time. No one would ever know, the smile covered her torment and no one cared to look deeper.

  13. Thank you all for being so kind. This is the first time I have ever posted any stories or such for people to read. Needless to say I was a bit intimidated by some of the writings that I have read in here and a little bit hesitant when it came to posting my own. Again thank you!! Lady Shade
  14. The wind rushed past her ears, and tugged at her clothes. Spring filled the air, with the smell of newly awakened flowers. She always felt free as she dodged the leaves and branches coating them in shimmering magic dust on her flight through the forest to the meadow. The Pixie reached her destination in record time. Not slowing her speed even a little she reached the middle of the meadow and started spiraling into the sky. When she decided that she was high enough she stopped in mid-flight falling toward the ground not stopping until inches from the ground. The rush from the fall made her head spin. Flopping down on the warm ground to catch her breath, all the while basking in the mid-day sun, a smile enveloped her face. When she was here she was at her best, away from all worries. She knew it wouldn’t last long though, it never did. After lying, not moving, enjoying the tranquility, finally the calls came. Pensively she gathered herself up off the ground. She made her way sluggishly back through the forest, knowing she must return home, back to work and chores and life. Written By Lady Shade for submission to The Pen is Mightier that the Sword
