  6. Fear is like an alarm clock. If you get right up to turn it off, you will probably benefit from it's ring. However, should you stay in bed trying to ignore it, its blare may drive you mad.
  7. Fear is like fire. If you fan the first fuming embers it can grow to a blaze comsuming everything in its path. OOC: Just thought it might be fun to swing some analagies around. :0) If it ends up being fun I'll post more topics. :0)
  8. HELLOOOOOO and HAAAAPPPPYYYYYY BIIIIRRRTTTHHHHDDDDAAAAYYYY! ~Salinye
  9. Weakness...Very good. If her gift of empathy had taught her anything it was that everyone had weaknesses. Everyone. She looked over to the well dressed jovial man in quick observation. He asks good questions, despite his festive manner. She was just turning her attention back to Iriador anticipating more information when another wave of emotion, or rather lack of, swept over her intermingling with her very soul this time leaving her terribly cold inside. Cocking her head sideways she stared at the older man who went by Enos as light goose bumps raised upon her skin as the coldness permeated her. Enos, being ever observant felt her penetrating stare and turned to face her almost immediately. "Is there a problem?" He asked her glancing down at her Holy symbol and then adding in a more gentle tone, "M'lady?" "Cold." She replied distractedly still staring at him, seemingly into him. "Pardon?" He said with only the slightest sign of discomfort. Shaking her head lightly rubbing her arms then wrapping them around herself. Giving him half a smile she replied, "I'm sorry, I am just suddenly very cold." With that she turned her focus back to the sorceress not wishing to draw attention to herself. Cold....Very cold. Were her thoughts. OOC Enos, I hope I did your character justice, feel free to correct me if I didn't and I'll make the changes. :0)
  10. Very touching, thank you for sharing. ~Sali

  13. Senora is more of a wood elf type. (I'm getting together with my old DM this weekend to figure out the exact AD&D specifics on her and will edit this when I have that information.) She has wild red hair that cascades wonderfully unless she ties it back. She's on the petite side and her eyes are pure green and full of love and life. Her appearance would give anyone the first impression that she's a Saucy wild woman, however, she is quite the opposite. Humble, VERy Beautiful (although downplayed by choice) and has little to no ego. She could care less if she's a leader, and rarely cares what anyone's opinion of her is. She has the gift of empathy. (Although you won't know this yet). She can not read minds, however, she can at times feel what other people are feeling. It usually comes to her in waves. She cannot summon the ability. It's stronger with some more than others, or at certain times more than others. It sometimes confuses her and takes her a while to accurately assess the why's and hows. She is also very private about her findings unless she feels she has to reveal. She sort of feels intrusive tromping through people's minds and souls the way she does at times. Because of this gift, that sometimes feels more like a curse, Senora has had to feel the emotions of the most pure as well as the darkest evil, and empathize. Therefore, she is slow to judge anyone. Sort of an "I've walked a mile in your shoes, and part of me understands" type of thing. It tends to keep her on the neutral end of good. This gift/curse is what drove her to become a priestess. Preserving life is her greatest desire. She craves the company of people who are at peace within themselves because then she gets to share in that. However, she's found that people who are at peace within themselves are non existent. The best she finds are moments when people feel peaceful. (I'll expand on her diety and form of worship after I meet with my old dm. :0))
  14. LOL Ofcourse we have Elwen. :0) It was apparant in your thoughts. ~Salinye
  15. Birds....Don't I know a quote about birds? AH YES... "God feeds every bird, but he doesn't throw the worm into its nest." Very good, carry on, carry on... ~Sali
  16. Brute, it's like you're in my mind!! We'll miss you, please do follow along, and perhaps Damon can assign you to temporary single incident char's or something. :0) mwahahaha maybe we could keel you. *grin* Thanks for the clarification! Have a lovely weekend and get better!! ~Sali

  18. I have applied, but am not accepted yet, so it would be nice to have something I can access. :0) Elwen, don't worry, more just looking for what we would observe so we can use it. :0) ~Sali
  19. No, I haven't, but suddenly those symbols are showing up in old posts that I've had on boards for years, and they were never there before. *sigh* All my hugs and kisses and homemade cookies sent to whoever solves this problem for me!!!! ~Sali Cursed by the Gods of Apostrophes and Quotation marks (A God of no Mercy)
  20. Ever since I realized that Verdana was not a solution I went back to using Times New Roman or whatever it's called. I had this problem before I ever used Verdana. The odd thing is I've been posting stories on EZ boards for years, and never had this problem until recently. Is it a problem with the EZ board upgrades, or with my computer, I'm thinking it's my computer. I'll try the things you suggest, keep the ideas a spinnin'! ~Sali
  21. (ooc: Please see the thread I have started in this forum separate from this thread. Thank you!!! *smiles*) Senora smiled breaking off the long stem of the rose given to her and tucking the bud behind her left ear. Listening to the debriefing as well as ignoring the not so subtle slight from Damon she turned her attention to the explanation that Iriador has given. ...and... Was the thought that came to her mind as Iriador finished summing up Elwen. There is more. There is always more. The inner thoughts, feelings and emotions of a living creature is among the most intricate puzzles in life. "What is her motivation?" The gangle of people that had gathered together for this quest looked over to the nearly forgotte cleric as she spoke. "What?" Came the less eloquent and blurted response from Harmon. Senora glanced up at the waitress as she replaced her empty goblet with a new one filled with Cranberry juice flashing her a grateful smile. "What is it that motivates this, Elwen? Do we know?" It seemed a simple logical question to the priestess, picking up her goblet, she raised it slightly at the elderly genteman as a thanks and began to draw from it awaiting an answer.
  22. Hey, I thought it might be good if we all took the time to post a quick bio about our characters here in a separate thread. It would be easier than chopping up the storyline to do so. Also would be easier for us to write other char's actions. :0) I'll put mine up as soon as I pull it together. :0) Damon, please post yours here too. I haven't been around The Pen long enough to read all the stories, so I really know very little about your chars, and if my char is to be empathetic, then I should start studying your char bios!! Thanks a million, I love writing with you all!! ~Sali
  23. Senora begins to snicker as the other elven woman smacks the large arm of the warrior off of her. However, her gaffaw was cut short as a familiar sensation washed over her feeling much like an electrically charged gentle breeze. Only this breeze didn't stop when it hit her skin, no, it didn't stop until it permeated the very fibers of her mind. Gripping the neck of the goblet that she had only moments before slid towards Enos, she tilted her head to the side leaning forward a bit to see Iriador past the massive man that sat between them. To others it might appear she was gaping openly at the woman. However, the cleric was merely mesmerized by the vibes she was getting from the woman and trying to understand them. Double...Two....Two of what? She needs two...no....she...feels the burdon of two....maybe... Senora remained frozen like this silently exploring her gift.
  24. UHG *bangs head against a brick wall* Is it doing that AGAIN? *goes to edit* RAWWWRRR Thank you for the heads up. It doesn't show on mycomputer. ~Salinye
  25. Just as one lighthouse stands among the shore as a beacon to guide the lost home... Just as one Mountain stands tall and majestic it's presence alone the source of awe... Just as one banner alone inspires unity among an unrest nation... Just as one sun calls Mother Earth to arise from her dark slumber... Just as one river weaves through a valley offering hope, strength & life to barren lands... Such is the impact of just one Lone Man. Such is the burden... ~Salinye
