Rahsash Geldich
Isn't it amazing how we can work an entire lifetime And sit there, stupefied, and let all of it simply rewind. How we put our heart and soul into something, and when it drops, Are stunned to realize we forgot to build the saving stops. I simply find it amazing That our society missed this- This utter haste we still live in- The demise we all dismiss Our entire world can be shattered with a hammering phrase But all will be forgotten within the future's ironic haze. And how some of what we've hidden away will haunt While showing us the lucidity of the wisdom we flaunt. I simply find it amazing How we piece together the shards With the organized randomness Of rebuilding a house of cards. We scour the world for answers to all of our questions about life But a Fallen Angel, Death, is what we spread with gun and knife. And isn't it amazing how we continue when we should fall? One way we could walk, but we choose to go where we have to crawl. I simply find it amazing We think we learn from our mistakes But we let the same venom come And just say there were different snakes. I think I will continue to find it amazing-always. The sight of humanity in its darkened-by-mind hallways. Romeo and Juliet died of their own haste, so will we. Its amazing how, though we make it, we can't learn from history. Nyyark
survival doesn't amaze me as much as growth. I like it.
Guest Xradion
"Cain and Able, more than a fable, but a moral lesson to be taught by preachers and teachers alike." (My words, though I am NOT an advocate of non-secular schools or of the stupid voucher system, for the record. However, I do believe that there are plenty of basic moral beliefs we can agree upon that should be taught, such as the Golden Rule). I completely agree with this poem. It seems that even our most ancient texts warn us of flaws we see repeated over and over and over again. Man is deeply flawed, but I remain optimistic, hoping that one day we will learn to see that we are all fundamentaly the same, and thus deserve equal dignity, freedom, and respect. Sometimes, reality is a grim specter like the reaper seeing what he sewed. Nevertheless, I think we must keep on fighting and pressing on, because even if we can't change anything, to give in is to except that fact. I refuse to except it, even if it is the truth. Life only gets worse if we don't keep up the struggle, and significant progress has been made. Xradion, The Horny Druid, Scholar of the Ancient Arts, Holder of the Eye of Odin.
