So what if all I write is crap?

Your critisism is nothing more than a mere slap

I can admit it, so why try and slam

A horrible student is who I am

The night before a test I cram

And then forget it the next day

My mind is in serious disarray

College? Oh...yeah wait, I don't give a damn

An unpopular jerk is who I am

All those preps, F#CK 'em

Abercrombie! Pom-poms!

Give me a shotguns!

Handcuffs and cells, yah, ok I don't give a damn

        I often experienced this same feeling in high school, which is why I decided to take a year off before college. Otherwise, I would have lost my mind. Speaking of Abercrombie and Fitch, I always wanted to come out with a line of clothing entitled "Erotic Zombie and ßitch." It was going to be a line of tee-shirts picturing a big-busted anorexic-looking teenaged girl wearing waaay too much makeup, an unattractive whore, and a starving (though somehow beautiful) homeless woman. That would have shown the mother^&%*ers what image really means. Nothing. And !@$# Sprite for marketing this very concept, yet being the most self-conscious soft drink in the history of the world! Argl! Anyway, the proceeds from this line of tee-shirts was going to go directly too the whore, the homeless woman, and the anorexic girl to help them clean up their problems, and regain their dignity in this god-forsaken world.

 

        Ahhhh! Thanks for giving me an opportunity to get out all this left-over pent up rage! I really mean it! If it ever seems like no one give a damn, know that I give a damn. Does society corrupt humanity, or does humanity corrupt society? Like which came first, the chicken, or the egg? Why are we all such hypocrites? Does it all go back to the apple? The double-edged sword unsheathes itself again. I am knowledge, I am passion, I am pride, I am humanity.

A very entertaining read Andrea (so yes, I s'pose I do give a damn then ;p). In many ways, the way in which the poem is written reminds me somewhat of freestyle hip hop poetry. Concsious venting, with little regard to rhyme and rhythm so long as the points made are clearly understood... Yet it still keeps the reader hooked till the end. Cool stuff.

I completely tune this vibe in! But also think for a moment, its people that go against the grain that change the world, that people wearing Abercrombie feel like they need someone else's name to give themselves one. They are obsessed over the now, never thinking about the later, and espically never about the complexity of the damage they can cause.

 

And just for the record, all who can relate-GIVE A DAMN!

I'm none too eloquent with words, and I'm nt goin to sit here and tell you everything I give a damn about; you can decide that for yourself. But there are a lot of people that I wh could read this poem and hear everything it has to say with some sympathy. Not for you, but for those million of people that they have hurt and not cared about, those millions of teenagers who commit suiside every year because no one gave a damn. Those millions of students who feel that going to school with a gun is going to prove something. I want people to read your poem for that.
