Yeah.. how about the way it says "Thy Aliad" instead of "Thy Alias"? Not to mention the infinite other grammar and spelling errors on the part of the developers..

Hahaha, but you need to spell correctly to make people understand you on the boards, do you not?

And in the game, failing spelling pisses me off, especially when its wish :D

Fair enough glyn, but US spelling = any_more

but other than US = anymore (check a non-american dictionary ;) )

Hey lumpster.

"US spelling = any_more, but other than US = anymore (check a non-American dictionary )"

I'll let you off. Our New Shorter Oxford says "any more", with "anymore" as an alternative. Thus endeth the battle of anymore. :)

I'm with you on the need to use language appropriately to be understood on a bulletin board. Communicative competency - it's all the rage.

This only makes sense if you consider "us" to mean the mages, not the players - the players are not "on Terra", and they're the ones doing the spelling (not to mention arguing, quarreling etc. ;) ). In my opinion, "Terra", in this context, refers to the community of players, and thus a comma is the correct remedy.

Of course, your version could also mean "Let us go to Terra (physically) and learn to spell while we're there.", but I doubt that that was lumpen's intended meaning...

Nope. It's affect. Effect is always (ok not always, 99.99999999% of the time) preceded by "the."

Without the period of couse; That's just correct grammar.

"I was affected by it and it made me go poo."

"The effect of it was such that it made me go poo."

"Effect" can also be a verb, but it has a very different meaning from that of "affect": "A affects B" means that A changes or modifies B in some manner, while "A effects B" means that A causes B /makes B happen (which means that B must be some kind of action or change, not any old noun).

One of the best advice I can give to spell right is : take your time to read what you just wrote!

I still have difficulty understanding how people can make so many errors in one sentence.
