Some background information. "Mags Restoria" is based off this application, and has birthed into an RP in its own right.

If you'd like to join and you were not in the original thread before the quest was given, please post here.


This is a mostly freeform RP, where the participants are collaboratively writing rather than a traditional Game Master and Players. It's light-hearted, tongue-in-cheek, and not too serious, but not too silly either. Some sort of continuity is good!

The rules are few, but here they are:

- Rate of posting - I guess it'd be 'as it comes'; sometimes might be a bit faster, a bit slower, but I'm quite happy with posting now and then. Doesn't have to be once a day, or even once a week, but whenever.

- It's no fun when others spoil things, so I'd prefer it if we all moderated ourselves and the thread as a whole - as equals, cooperating. It'd be far more fun for everyone involved if there was a certain degree of maturity: that is, knowing when to be silly, but not too silly?

Godmodding/metagaming for example, where one character is invulnerable, all knowing and waves his or her hand and alter the shape of the universe at his/her whim, reducing the very gods (if we have any!) to dust 'cause he/she is moody that he/she wasn't being fawned on... - that sort of thing. (Okay, extreme example, but eh).

- Taking control of others' characters: following the general forum rule: ask first! Some are okay with it, others not.

- Finally, some sort of very, very loose plot that may or may change might be helpful - as a guideline rather than hard, fast solid rules.


Setting: well, a band of intrepid adventurers off on a quest to restore Wyvern's destroyed mags - for their own ends, or for the good of the Lizard...?

I think I'll be putting one of my newer characters into the mix, that being Solorassil. Something tells me that most of my other characters would be a bit too "dignified" or indifferent for such a quest.

Sure; sounds good. Although, Hjolnai, I'd prefer to see the character first, if you don't mind? Just to get a feel for the character's strengths =).

Anyone can join?? I totally want in!!! What kind of character background do you want, C/how detailed?

By all means, do please join =). The character background and detail is entirely up to you - although obviously, a character who oozes magic sort of makes the quest redundant since he/she could just wave their hand and restore said 'mags' . So I imagine anything that can't do that will fit in well. Variety is the spice of life, after all! But I would like to scan the sheet/profile/character briefly before you join just so I can get an idea of the character (my being new here and all). If you already have a character in mind, so much the better =).

Well, I was thinking of having C, "Eight Inch Thingy"(as C refers to him as), and perhaps Thomas having the ground crumble underneath them and land in a cave. That's just an idea though. I'm sure if such a thing happened, it'd make a loud noise

Edit: I just finished reading the character. Need to confer with the other players before saying 'yay' or 'nay', but it's an interesting concept! Well written! I'll let you know whether you're in as soon as I hear back from the others.

Hey guys,

I just wanted to say that it's really cool to see this thread get underway, and am glad to have inspired it. :-) I apologize for my lack of posting in it, it's not that I don't like the story but more that some of my internal gears have shifted to directing my energies to sources outside of the Pen for a while. So if I'm not around to participate or comment, it's only because I'm taking a Pen hiatus of sorts... Poorly timed in regards to this thread, I realize, so I wanted to give you folks a heads up on my status. Please carry on, and maybe I'll catch up with you later. :-)

I feel that this is becoming too much a conversation between C and Solorassil (which is mostly my fault), so I've tried to write in a new opportunity for Thomas to speak again, and I may try the same with Tom Atoe if necessary.

Admittedly the two-way conversation is interesting to participate in, but I think it's gone on for long enough; I wouldn't particularly want to be sidelined, unless it's simply an issue of not having enough time to post. It does seem as if I have been guilty of ignoring the last few non-C posts simply to pursue the most visible conversation option, and I'll try to break that pattern.

Hjolnai, my posting times are rather random and depend really on how busy/tired I am... so forgive me if I don't answer your posts at once (that's true for everybody else). I don't want to hold the RP in waiting for me, though, so at any point when Thomas is expected to answer and does not, just ignore him and go ahead (others might ahve interrupted, Thomas might have suffered some mishap, etc...) I'll always try to find a way to go back to you unless things have gone too far from Thomas

Also, sometimes I'm just waiting for someone else to post so that I have more basis to post

At worst, I can always be prodded to post at least a couple lines so that anything happening can go on smoothly... a PM works for that. :-)

I too, feel bad for not exactly including everyone, but I do kinda feel I should answer when addressed - after a few days. I did check with you guys though, and you tend to say 'post', so I do! I hope I am allowing everyone a chance to post!

C, my point of view is that, as "owner" of this thread (at least the main organizer) you have the freedom to add things and move the RP ahead even when people do not answer or are not directing themselves to you. Think of it as "flavor text" - most of us are used to that. I'm pretty sure we'll accommodate, specially if we haven't had time to post for a while.

If I'm wrong, please feel free to correct me :-). Mostly, that's how I go about any RP I organize. ^.^
